Finding an amazing tattoo artist is a lot like finding an amazing mechanic, air conditioning repairman, or a lifesaving physician, from that point forward you won't let anyone else do the work. Rick Donovan at Blue Foo Tattoo is that type of tattoo artist.Rick recently moved back to the South Florida area from Georgia. I have two stories that sum Rick Donovan up as a tattoo artist.First, I was at the shop recently waiting to get a final touch ups on my most recent tattoo. When I walked in Rick was finishing up a client of his who flew all the way from Georgia with her Husband so they could continue to add to what had started prior to moving.Second, I was present once when Rick told a potential client that he wouldn't do the tattoo they wanted because he knew it wouldn't turn out the way they envisioned. He explained his reasoning and the client was very appreciative and the two of them came up with an alternative design. The young lady left with an ear to ear smile and a tattoo she said she liked more than what she wanted when she walked in. These two examples alone set Rick on a different tier of artist in my opinion. Rick is fair, honest, personable, and patient (which is critical for those who are indecisive). Lou “blue” went in very confident knowing he could tackle this crazy job and make it look like it should have in the beginning. He made me feel the most comfortable I have ever felt being tattooed.. To say that he picked up on my wavelength is a gross understatement. He blew my expectations out of the water! The detail on this tattoo is amazing and I cannot wait until it is healed so I can appreciate the nuances of the shading! He is an artist among artists!

I found Blue Foo just over a year ago right here on yelp and after looking through their Instagram, I knew I wanted Lou to do the tattoo I had in mind. When I met him, he was super nice and helpful. He is very knowledgeable and always aiming to give you the best version of what you want. I had him go over my first tattoo that didn't come out so great from a different shop and he made it look so much better. Since then I have gotten four other tattoos from him and each time I'm blown away. I plan to always go to him for my ink. The others in the shop are also very talented (proof on Instagram) and they are all very nice. It's a great environment in the shop and I think that's so important, especially if you're gonna be sitting there for a few hours getting tattooed. I honestly cannot recommend this shop enough. In my opinion, they're the best in the area.

Lou "blue" has been doing my tattoos over the last couple years & I will never go to anyone else! I believe everyone has a gift in life and Lou has definitely found his gift. He is not only meticulous and extremely clean, he is a great guy to sit with for a couple hours while getting your tattoo done. I've had multiple people ask me where I've gotten my tattoos done, at least once a week. He is truly an artist. Every time I get a tattoo, I show him an inspiration of what I want but tell him to do what he thinks will look best. He never disappoints!!!! The shop in general is a great atmosphere, all the artist are easy going, and pay great attention to detail.

Jassany and Abe were there as well and they were awesome! I felt so comfortable, and love how they operated as a family, giving ideas and helping each other. It was just a beautiful thing to see! After moving down to south Florida from New Jersey i was having an extremely hard time finding an artist that I felt understood exactly what I wanted. After almost two years of searching I was able to find Blue Foo Tattoo on Instagram and haven't considered going anywhere else since! My artists name is Lou he is also the shop owner and the entire process has been so amazing! The music is good, the shop is clean and well kept, the artists all vibe really well together. It's such a comfortable place to be. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone, especially someone who's getting their first tattoo or isn't super comfortable walking into a shop with all red walls and screams music playing like so many tattoo shops now a days.

Blue is a genius and brings your idea to life with his own twists. My most recent piece is dope and I'm already plotting on my next visit to the area so we can work on my next piece. This shop is top notch...don't sleep on them!

Lou "blue" has been doing my tattoos over the last couple years & I will never go to anyone else! I believe everyone has a gift in life and Lou has definitely found his gift. He is not only meticulous and extremely clean, he is a great guy to sit with for a couple hours while getting your tattoo done. I've had multiple people ask me where I've gotten my tattoos done, at least once a week. He is truly an artist. Every time I get a tattoo, I show him an inspiration of what I want but tell him to do what he thinks will look best. He never disappoints!!!! The shop in general is a great atmosphere, all the artist are easy going, and pay great attention to detail.

I love this shop! And the artists there! I was just visiting and wanted to get a tattoo in SO FLO(I love getting tattoos in different cities). The tattoo that I got here was supposed to be my last tattoo in Florida but now I'm sure I'll be back.. Syd did an awesome job bringing my idea to life. She was patient and just flat out AWESOME!. Jassany and Abe were there as well and they were awesome! I felt so comfortable, and love how they operated as a family, giving ideas and helping each other. It was just a beautiful thing to see! I've already recommended this shop to a few friends who plan on visiting SO FLO!

After moving down to south Florida from New Jersey i was having an extremely hard time finding an artist that I felt understood exactly what I wanted. After almost two years of searching I was able to find Blue Foo Tattoo on Instagram and haven't considered going anywhere else since! My artists name is Lou he is also the shop owner and the entire process has been so amazing! The music is good, the shop is clean and well kept, the artists all vibe really well together. It's such a comfortable place to be. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone, especially someone who's getting their first tattoo or isn't super comfortable walking into a shop with all red walls and screams music playing like so many tattoo shops now a days.

From the cleanliness of the shop to his advice it was right on! This was my first so was not sure what to expect but he put me right at ease! I thought I had something in mind but what he came up with far out did anything I could have expected! The talent and the love of his art shows throughout his work!!
