I've never written a Yelp review before, but I felt compelled because I had a very bad experience here. Got a simple earlobe piercing (both sides), and one side was pierced far lower than the other. It was so low that I was afraid the earring would actually pull through my skin every time it hit or got caught on something. Many months passed and the piercings didn't heal, which was very strange as, again, these are simple earlobe piercings -- not cartilage piercings. They should've healed up in around 6 weeks. By the end of the 5 months, they still hurt and the holes were crusty. I went to see a different piercer at a different tattoo shop and they said that the the jewelry that was put in the first time was too heavy for new holes, which is why it hadn't healed in all of those months. They also said that the hole on my right ear was so low that they could give me a new piercing right now, above the first hole, without even having to wait for the first hole to heal. I was very disappointed to hear all of this. I don't know the quality of this shop's tattooing, but I would not recommend you come here if you're looking for a piercing.

I have tattoos on my left forearm, my left hip, and going around my right thigh; all of which were done by Matt. I couldn't be happier with how they look and I get compliments on them all the time. I highly value the fact that Matt's passion for this art is present, from the honest advice he gives to his ability to free-hand details into the various tattoos that I have. Northside Tattoos is kept clean and inviting, with good pricing. I recommend them to anyone looking to get a tattoo and I will continue to do so.

I have 2 hoops on my cartlidge and the ball popped out of both and when trying to fix it I bent the earring. I went here to get my earrings changed and they were so helpful! I was kinda nervous cause it felt silly to need help getting my hoops changed but they were so approachable and nice about it. The place was really clean and had a cool vibe to it. Came in today for a tattoo on my forearm. I could not have had a more pleasant experience. The vibe of the shop was calm and inviting, and Matt did a great job giving me the tattoo I envisioned. And the 80s alternative music playing in the background definitely didn't hurt (a little Talking Heads "Nothing but Flowers" during the most painful part does wonders to take your mind off things!) I will definitely be back for any future work!

Amber is also awesome. She has done several piercings for me and I think she has a softer touch than others I had a piercing from.
The shop is clean, the atmosphere fun and relaxing. Best tattoo shop I have ever seen. Definitely worth the drive if you are out of state!

Went in today as a walk in to get a Daith piercing. The receptionist was very nice, professional and welcoming. Amber was awesome! She answered questions, was really approachable and easy to talk to. I was extremely impressed. I felt so comfortable. The shop is clean. I'd definitely go back. You might want to call first to be sure someone is there. I'm not sure about the hours they keep.

I have a triple forward helix piercing and the middle one came out for the second time in a week. I went in to get the jewelry changed (only costs $5 unless you're buying their jewelry), but unfortunately my hole had closed. Matt didn't charge me, but gave me some good advice about getting the other two to heal and said it would be best to wait to get it pierced again. Overall, I was pleased with his service and he seemed knowledgeable about what he was talking about. Shop was nice and clean. I will go back when I figure out what I'm going to do with this cartilage piercing. (side note- if you're considering a cartilage piercing, do your research!!!! the healing takes much longer than you would think and the cleaning can be a pain!)

Absolutely the only place that I will ever get tattooed. Matt did my first tattoo before there was a Northside, and with the exception of one tattoo I got somewhere else (which he ended up fixing anyway) he has done all my work ever since. I will NEVER let anyone else tattoo me ever again. He always knows exactly how to make something look just how I want it, even if I'm not quite sure myself what I want, and I come in with some totally random uncommon ideas. I put all my faith in him every time, and it always turns out awesome. I get TONS of compliments on my color, my lines are all neat and clean, and I've never once had an issue with healing, or fading. I've never seen anything in the shop that looks out of place, or not sterile, or questionable at all. The place is immaculately clean, and definitely worth checking out.

Amber is the absolute best. She makes you feel so comfortable!!! Matt's work is immaculate! I got 2 tats last week and came back today for another one. Love love love them!!!

Β The decor of the shop is pretty neat ,pictures everywhere and super clean. Β I think that I might have to get some work here in the near future.

I have a triple forward helix piercing and the middle one came out for the second time in a week. I went in to get the jewelry changed (only costs $5 unless you're buying their jewelry), but unfortunately my hole had closed. Matt didn't charge me, but gave me some good advice about getting the other two to heal and said it would be best to wait to get it pierced again. Overall, I was pleased with his service and he seemed knowledgeable about what he was talking about. Shop was nice and clean. I will go back when I figure out what I'm going to do with this cartilage piercing. (side note- if you're considering a cartilage piercing, do your research!!!! the healing takes much longer than you would think and the cleaning can be a pain!)

Absolutely the only place that I will ever get tattooed. Matt did my first tattoo before there was a Northside, and with the exception of one tattoo I got somewhere else (which he ended up fixing anyway) he has done all my work ever since. I will NEVER let anyone else tattoo me ever again. He always knows exactly how to make something look just how I want it, even if I'm not quite sure myself what I want, and I come in with some totally random uncommon ideas. I put all my faith in him every time, and it always turns out awesome. I get TONS of compliments on my color, my lines are all neat and clean, and I've never once had an issue with healing, or fading. I've never seen anything in the shop that looks out of place, or not sterile, or questionable at all. The place is immaculately clean, and definitely worth checking out.
