Went there to have a sleeve done by TJ  and it turned into a disaster. Blown out lines and a bunch of unreadable areas due to ink muddled together. I decided to stop the process when I told him I wasn't happy with something and he replied" oh well, it's there now". I've been to 3 other artists all of which said I'm screwed and it can't be fixed. Now I have to go through the removal process on certain areas so it can be redone. Something to remember with artists is that your only going to see pics of the good stuff they do, so beware. I've turned at least 20 people away from this place and I will continue to do so because of this experience. Terrible and expensive mistake. Read Less

Clean and friendly. The artist are always professional- gotten a tattoo , a nose piercing, and facial surface piercing here. Piercings were a bit pricey- but these are the kind of things that you just can't afford to go cheap on - (sometimes you get what you pay for) I've attached a photo of my surface piercing. It's been 3 years - I still love it- and have had no problems.  My hub and has a half sleeve by TJ and it's literally one of the best pieces I've ever seen. Didn’t have too good of an experience with the work done on me. My letters were crooked and it seemed they only wanted my money and steered me in the wrong direction. One letter was smaller than the others and not enough pressure was applied for the ink to hold. This was my first tattoo and I went and got A second opinion on what SHOULD have been done in terms of letter placement and other shops say they would have never done line work the way it was done here or atleast they would have talked me out of getting the letters the size I did, at argaru there wasn’t much guidance it was kind of like okay whatever she says to get money. Again this is my first tattoo which I made clear so I was Expecting them to be more helpful and give me their thoughts on what would or wouldn’t look good. Truly disappointed. I also kept in contact with the man who did my tattoo and he was rude the last time we spoke. Now I’m stuck with a tattoo that’s hardly readable and I have to get it covered up. Extremely overpriced compared to the other shops in the area and not worth the amount of money I paid compared to the turn out of the tattoo. Read Less

Tommy Rabid is one of the best tattoo artists. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone. Both locations are extremely clean and hygienic. Both Agaru tattoo locations are amazing. Great artists, competitive prices and absolutely zero drama. Tommy Rabid has been my tattoo artist for years and I wouldn't trade him for a golden left foot. When you are planning for a tattoo, just remember, you get what you pay for. Instead of jumping the gun and getting a tattoo from your starving artist friend in his dirty basement for $20.......just save up some money until you have enough to go to a real tattoo studio that is clean, professional and knows about blood born diseases. Chris does great work, the price was awesome, and well when get more cash I will be back. It's a great shop in a nice private location. The rest of the staff knows their stuff and tattoo work, and piercing. Pros: Clean, knowledgeable and friendly staff. The Lizard King! I had a great experience at Agaru Tattoo in Trolley! I've had a lot of life changes going on lately and was feeling impulsive after work on Monday. I wanted to get a tattoo on my day off which happened to be the following day. I hadn't had a tattoo done in DE in years. A couple friends recommended Agaru, so I gave them a call. They told me Laura would be available after 4 on Tuesday. Laura was great! I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and she put together something original based on some Polynesian prototypes. We worked on the fine details together getting the crown on the lizard's head just right and tweaking part of his body. It looked awesome! Soon after, she went to work. Laura was very detailed and focused on her work. The result was exactly what I wanted. A clean, crisp badass looking lizard king: part Polynesian, part original, totally amazing! I walked into Agaru - Trolley Square about two years ago looking to get a simple tattoo. I got hooked up with TJ and I met him later in the day at Agaru 2. TJ was on time and extremely professional. Fast forward to now. I decide I want another tattoo. I emailed TJ some basic designs and informed him I am not at all an artist and asked him to run with it. TJ was able to get me in a few days later. The day before the session, I emailed TJ again asking him if he could fit in an extra tattoo. He said he could certainly do it. Again, TJ was on time and extremely professional. He showed me his take on my basic designs and made subtle changes as we both saw fit. When he told me the price, my jaw dropped with Ho's reasonable it was. I had work done at another shop in Delaware and the price was outrageous and the quality was not at a good level. I'm actually going to have TJ cover it up later this year. The tattoo came out better then I could have ever imagined. TJ even stayed late to complete the work on both tattoos. Worst experience I've ever had with a tattoo parlor in my life. Two months after putting down a deposit, TJ still had no sketches for me to look at. He was incredibly unprofessional and did not call to confirm my appointment, nor to let me know he had anything to show for the $20 I put down. He talked down to me like I was worthless and his attitude about the situation was completely unacceptable. I've gotten all but two of my tattoos at Agaru Tattoos via Tommy.  He does a great job and I usually recommend him to my friends, so now I will recommend him to you.  Sure its a little hike to go from Philadelphia where I live all the way to Wilmington but its definitely worth the trip.  I am constantly complimented on my tattoos after years and years of having them, the color is still so bright to the point people ask me if I just got mine...no, most of them are over 5 years old...but they still look super fresh and clean.  I know there are tons of great artists in the area, but I also highly recommend taking a trip to see Tommy R.
