I was honored to be with my friend as he got his first tattoo by Chad at LST. The tattoo looks great, Chad is awesome, and it was an overall really awesome experience overall.We were lucky to have found Chad. The more we got to know him, the more we realized how good of a fit he was for my friend's tattoo! One of his interests is in Nordic designs, which was what my friend was looking for, and Chad even created custom artwork that makes the tattoo even more personal and special. He helped guide my friend with this important decision without rushing him or any pressure. We appreciated his candor throughout the process. It was easy to go back and forth with designs and modifications - in person as well as over email. Chad was kind, warm, and very talented. It was chill chatting with him during the ~1.5 hour tattoo process. It was interesting hearing about his life and his passions, making the tattooing a breeze! We felt the connection. I came here simply for a consult for two tattoos I was thinking about. Ryan Miller, who was my artist, was able to fit me in right away for one of the tattoos. It came out so well. The following week I went in my other one, he custom made and drew it on my arm. Everyone loves how they turned out! The lines were so clean and the colors were so vibrant!! A few weeks ago I had my first Lucky Soul experience. I can't say enough good things. The vibe in the shop is amazing, everyone is relaxed and welcoming. The shop is clean and comfortable, the artists have a great rapport with each other and the clients. They even have a sweet barber shop! I'm not fully tattooed, but I have my fair share and I am somewhat of a tattoo snob. I know what I want and like and Tracy Rose (proprietor) gave me exactly what I need. She took her time designing, altering, color scheming, placement and then tattooing. She is easy to talk to about ideas and is very open to incorporating your vision with traditional tattoo look. Her other tattooers seem to be cut from the same cloth and the shop is very cool and pumps some old school rock. Everyone here are friendly, professional and have their own unique aesthetic. They only hire and put highly skilled and acclaimed artists on the needle here. I know why clients come from great distance to get their tattoo here and they certainly delivered today. this is a great tattoo shop! there are a variety of male and female artists to choose from and they have their portfolios in the waiting area where you come in which is really cool to browse. Bronwyn dis my rib tattoo and she was amazing. she was kind, quick, friendly, creative, gentle, professional and carried a nice conversation with me through the occasional cringe. he design is better than I could have imagined and I will be booking her for all my future work in the area. the price a little higher than expected but i love the work so much so I cannot complain. the location is through a door and up the stairs in a building with a few business and at was confused where to go at first because the small paper sign on the door was not very eye catching. I hated everything about this place and now I have an unfinished tattoo that Im scared to have anyone work on after my experience! When I first contacted this place about getting my tattoo I got no response at all. I tried twice and after 2 months I just went in. I thought the staff was not friendly or helpful, it's MY FAULT for even going through with it after the vibes I got off the staff. My artist didn't draw anything up for me after I was very specific on what I wanted during my previous consultation, then when I got there for my tattoo I was not knowledge by anyone for about 30 minutes. They printed some images off the internet and threw them together when my artist was finally ready to take me. After all that they "free handed" shading that I'm asked regularly is bruising. I can see there's defiantly talent in the place but will never get my tattoo finished here or recommend anyone to visit. Read Less

I went to Beth on Valentine's Day for a Sailor Jerry flash day. She was excellent! She was very kind but also professional and made me feel comfortable (I had never been to the shop before). The tattoo came out awesome and she was even willing to modify it slightly for me, despite the fact that flash tattoos are usually set designs. I just got my first tattoo at Lucky Soul with Matthew Kiley and I couldn't be any happier with my experience. A few weeks ago, I visited the shop and met with Matt briefly, who gave me his card and told me to email him some ideas for my tattoo. I wanted an "eye" that was simple, girly and unique (I'm a to-be Optometrist). About 2 weeks later, Matt sketched up a drawing for me and I thought it was perfect. I was scheduled for an appointment a few days later (today) and am currently in love with my new tattoo! This was my first tattoo and Matt did a excellent job the tattoo is so beautiful & the colors are so vibrant !!! I couldn't be happier with it ,this tattoo was very important to me I had a butterfly done with my grandchildren's initials intertwined into the butterfly wings & I wanted them to be suttle so that you had to  look at the butterfly if you didn't know they were there.He did it perfectly I love it !!!!!!! I would definitely go back to Matt without a doubt for another tattoo & I would highly recommend him to anybody !!!!! Just got my first tattoo here -- hurt like hell but Matt was SO PATIENT and kind and not at all judgmental. The butterfly was estimated to take half an hour but I kept needing to take breaks, and he emphasized over and over again that that was totally fine. It ended up taking over an hour and he was wonderful from beginning to end, not to mention SO TALENTED as an artist. I love the end product so so much. Let's start by stating that Lucky Soul has some of the best tattoo artists in the industry. If you never had a tattoo, or you're in need of another look no further. Jim,Tracey and all of the artists here are extremely friendly and skilled. They will listen to your ideas. Come up with a good plan that you are comfortable with. This was by far my worst tattoo experience yet. I went in asking for a cover-up and ended up getting an outline and recolor of the tattoo I wanted covered. It looked nothing like what I asked for, and I mean absolutely nothing. I had a few people look at it vs the picture of what I wanted, and they agreed that there were no similarities whatsoever. It wasn't until I said I was unhappy with Dora's work that I got a real 'consultation', all these explanations that I was NOT told before or during the process. I spoke to Jim, and wasn't given more than a few minutes to explain why I was upset and what I wanted. Instead, I was told I was in the wrong and that she"thoroughly explained" what she would do. If that were the case, I wouldn't have gone through with getting what virtually ended up being a retouch. I was given such an attitude over the phone, because god forbid I didn't like the work.At the end of the day I got my deposit back and something I'm too embarrassed to show anyone. I'm already looking into an ACTUAL cover up, and this time I'll make sure the artist knows what they're doing. Read Less

For my First Tattoo at age 49 these guys were GREAT! All the artists and the owners were "up beat" smiling, engaging and make a great atmosphere. My Artist Beth is a new higher from Maine and she was exquisite. Very informative very engaging her technique is great. She stopped and told me everything before she did it. She also stopped every so often to check that I was OK. I can honestly say that had I not read all the good reviews and the awards I would still not had a tattoo. One of my biggest concerns all these years in searching for the right place was the shop and its cleanliness. Thanks Yelp and Thanks Lucky Soul! I've been tattooed on nearly every body part, small or large AND  been tattooed ALL OVER this country.  I've been going to Lucky Soul for SEVERAL years now with juas as many appts per year....  I personally NEVER had a problem with scheduling appointments!  I already KNOW when I walk in around July,  I'm making appts for  December and beyond....  Not because of scheduling problems,  but if u REALLY want the best work this whole damn state can offer,  Lucky Soul is THE ONLY CHOICE! TRUST ME!!  I "been around the block"....   There truly is NO better shop.!I saw a comment on here with one star...  Something about setting up appts & lost a customer, etc...  Didn't can't your name man,  but I can honestly say if you had some problem "setting an appt" and decided Lucky Soul wasn't for u,  I personally feel bad for you.  No BS,  I feel sorry for you....  Not only did you not give one of the most fair and honest shops around the chance to "do right by you" before taking to the internet and posting negative comments (& 1 star),  but I feel sorry because I know you'll now go to some other shop and *truthfully* "sell yourself short"....  Like I said:  speaking from experience...  I have, have seen, and have had judged SEVERAL (2 full sleeves + on me for starters),  but have seen SO much work out of LST & SO much "others" work....  And SERIOUSLY bro,  there's NO comparison!!My name is Sean Robinson,  I promise I don't work there & ain't no compensated actor.....  And I really wish I could remember your name man (I'll tag it after this comment),  but I'd REALLY be interested in what kind of "scheduling problems" could possibly sway you from even speaking with a artist.....  But part of me says:  well the shop is SO busy,  maybe one less guy will get me in sooner, PLUS no matter WHAT I got laid down in ink,  it would just be SO MUCH FARTHER INCREDIBLE than any other CT Tattoo Shop I've known!!!  (Like I said, again,  known quite a few...). Now I know the BEST!!!  I don't mean to belittle your experience,  maybe was a ehh day for everyone....   But I go in,  make my appts that are usually 6+ months out,  set 1 for every 2 weeks thereafter....  When the time comes,  I get a call to confirm...  And I'm There!   Unless someone's sick, (which never happened to me),  but I run a business too, so I'd get it....This shop redefines the art that is Tattoo...  They take pride in everything they do & it shows in how clean the shop is, comfy/peaceful waiting room and overall atmosphere,  and the most pride is by far in their tattooing...  Their Art!     I couldn't  find enough words to tell you  how great this shop is!!  #1 !!! Just yesterday I spent some time at Lucky Soul tattoo. Waking into a classy waiting room greeted by a cheerful manager is the best way to start a tattoo. The artists are very skilled and take the time to make sure you get EXACTLY what you want. Tracey and Jim are the owners and take pride in being "working" owners. No "choose it off the wall" tattoos here folks; only custom tattoos designed just for you. The atmosphere at the shop is friendly and relaxing. The buzz of the machines busy at every station makes me sure I picked the right place and looking at their portfolios makes me confident that this is a place for ARTISTS to make beautiful tattoos for people to enjoy. Tracey took the time to design the most wonderful tattoo for me on my last visit--a beautiful bouquet of my birth-month flowers and those of my two daughters! They look so real and I get complimented everywhere I go. I have watched Jim do a portrait tattoo from just looking at a photo and placing a couple dots for eye location.
