Took my daughter to get her ears pierced for the second time. First time was a Claire’s and the holes were no good so we let them close. Went to get a cartilage piercing in my ear, brought my 4-year old daughter at the time. It is a nice, clean place. Jay was awesome and did my piercing quick and gave info on care. My daughter is quite sensitive and dramatic and ended up being afraid of the big (albeit mean-looking) tiger on the big window to the front... Went there to put my conch jewelry back in because my holes had shrunk. The guy that took care of me made it seem like I was a bother to him. He was very short with me and didn't let me finish my sentences. He eventually told me to call my original piercer, to see if they could do it for free; which I ended up doing because of his crass demeanor. I got my first tattoo here, I didn't make an appointment I was able to just walk in. They asked what i wanted and I had showed them a picture of what i wanted. I got a small flower on my hip and they wanted to charge me almost $200 for it. It may have been my first tattoo but I can tell you right now it was not worth almost $200. I also got a rude "why would you show me a picture it's just a rose." As I was getting my tattoo the man who had done it did not speak to me at all the only words he said were "stop laughing or else i'm going to mess up my lines." My tattoo has now healed and yes, he did mess up his lines, the ink looks like it is bleeding out of the leaves in the flower. I like the tattoo but i will have to get it re touched. This place is great! I messaged them earlier today and they messaged me back within a few hours. I had them do 2 tattoos, 1 on my arm and one on my neck. Jay did my tattoos and he was great. I had to lay down in between them and he laughed with me about it. I don't have the highest pain tolerance but he got them done fast. I went for a helix piercing, Jay took me right in - walk-ins are welcome. He is straight forward: went into after-care info while he was setting up, did it in a snap...it quick/easy/painless.  I had my 4 year old daughter with me (wouldn't do that again, but hindsight is 20/20 - more on that in a minute).  The place is very clean, nice (not a shady joint).  Here's the weird story: my daughter got scared of the large tiger picture on the window going up the stairs, she didn't want to go downstairs (I had to go to the ATM - it's cheaper with cash, fyi)... so she sat there crying, not wanting to go toward it... I left her with Jay for the few seconds it took me to go down the stairs and to the ATM, he brought her down the back stairs so she wouldn't see the tiger and met me outside.  The pricing was quite reasonable and I gave him a tip because he was so nice with my baby.  I will definitely go back.  Have nothing negative to say :) Read Less

I don't remember the name of the guy that did my 2 piercings, but he was awesome! I asked him for a quote over the phone before I went in and although we later realized the quote he gave me was less expensive than it should've been (my fault, I didn't realize one of the piercings I wanted was a cartilage one), he still charged me what he originally quoted me. I stopped in here today to discuss having my less than mediocre tattoo of a breast cancer ribbon fixed from when I had it done 12+ years ago, and they did a fantastic job in helping me out.  I was expecting to have a quick consultation and then have to schedule and appointment, but they were able to take me right then and there which made me happy.  My artist was Brandon and he did and excellent job at covering up my old ribbon with a new one that actually looks like a breast cancer ribbon (my prior one , and I quote "looked like a soggy french fry").  I now love my tattoo again and honestly I don't think the prices are too expensive.  I have no problem paying for safe, sterile, quality work.  Who expects to have a tattoo done for cheap? Cheap costs come with cheap work.  These guys know what they are doing, therefore you pay accordingly.  The tattoo shop itself is bright, large, and super clean, not like some parlors you may be thinking of that are dark and creepy looking.  Looking forward to coming back here real soon to have a brand new tattoo done. I scheduled an appointment for a somewhat complicated cover-up and was pleasantly surprised at how professional and painless the entire process was. The gentleman whom I'm assuming is the office manager(Greg), was very helpful and courteous. I did not get the feeling I was in the typical snobby tattoo parlor, I felt very welcomed.The artist that attended to me was Brandon. He was also very professional. He really took the time to listen to my needs and understand my expectations. His ability to exceed my expectations and deliver what has turned out to be a life changing piece, has left a lasting impression. I'm very happy I made the decision perform my work here. Guy at the front desk is very rude, might be racist idk. The tatoo artist himself was extremely nice and professional. The prices are Awful. Higher than Ny prices and then the pay machine asks about a tip.... I have many tattoos some I paid over 500 dollars for so its not about the money, I just know I could get more and better for less. I've gotten a total of 17 piercings done by Jay and I can't think of a single issue or complaint. Every placement is perfect and aligned. His cleaning instructions are easy and effective. Out of all my piercings not one has gotten infected. All of the instruments he uses are fresh out of the package, and he opens them right infront of you. If your in the central area or go to CCSU I'd highly recommend stopping in to this shop. The staff is down to earth and funny, the shop is clean, and waiting room is comfortable and chills you out before you get tatted\pierced.I got my first tattoo - real clean simple compass on my calf. I got it few months ago from Jay, who now has his own shop up in mass?Very short wait for a walk in, he had just finished another piece, stepped out for all of 5 minutes and was ready to go. straight lines, so clean, very happy with it.Second experience was a couple days ago. Made an appointment with Murray for two wolves in a yin yang circle on my chest. Fairly big tattoo, but he was quick, and wouldn't let me look until the end, when I went up to the mirror I was smiling ear to ear. I have gone to flying tiger for 4 of my tattoos and 2 piercings and I am more than happy with all of them! One in which is my current piece..it is an undead ariel from the little mermaid it is turning out to be better than I hoped, I'm in love with it!!!! My artist is JEFF!!!!! His work is sick! Line work is perfect! And DIDNT DO ANY TATTOOING WITHOUT MY OK FIRST! Whether the picture was right, or the the size, the way it would look once the stencil was on..come on people that is ur responsibility to make sure everything is right (especially if its ur favorite band u should know what it should look like) just saying! Sometimes it can be pricey but u get what u pay for! I'd rather pay the extra money and my shit look right rather than ugly line work and not look like what u actually wanted to begin with! While I do understand a lot of the criticisms from other people about this place, and I do think that some of them are totally justified, I have to say that these guys are good at their work. They may not be as chatty and full if sunshine as some people would like, but they know their sh*t. And while I haven't had the most glowing conversations with them, they've always done a really solid job. And that's what I'm going there for. I've personally had Derik and the dude is good, he gives you good aftercare instructions and feedback in stead of letting you tattoo crap on yourself. If you're gonna be one of those "OMG let's get tatted bitchezzz" people, you're probably going to the wrong place if you go here, but if you want an artist who takes their work seriously, it's a good bet. Honestly I don't understand why people are so negative about this place, my friends have gone to Jay for piercing so I've heard nothing but great things about the quality of his work. I got my belly button done and everyone one inside was nothing but nice and willing to help (first time in flying tiger). When it came to getting my piercing it was quick, clean and pinched. The piercer Jay made sure I was comfortable and talked me through what he was doing so I would relax. Next time I get a piercing I will gladly return here. My friend and I had an awesome experience here. The first time we went Jeff did my friends tattoo and was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He chatted with us and made us feel extremely comfortable. My friend got his tattoo that day and Jeff suggested another tattooist for the tattoo I wanted. I made an appointment for the following week and went to Derek. I only have gotten piercings done here, and it's always been a positive experience. Staff has always been helpful. I've had my cartilage, belly button, nose, and tragus all pierced by Jay. He has always been friendly, funny, and quick with the process (I think this is a good thing) so you don't have to overthink something that is meant to get done and over with so you can enjoy your new look. I'd suggest this parlor. Prices are normal, make sure you bring cash in so you don't have to pay as much as you would with a debit/credit card, it's just the way it is there. Read Less

I can't speak for tattooing because I've only ever gotten pierced here but I have nothing but positive things to say. I have had a bunch of piercings (including three microdermals) done, and Jay is the best. It's extremely clean, he knows what he's doing, and I recommend them to anyone looking for a good piercer. They're in a small plaza with a few stores (including Dunkin Donuts), so the parking situation is really my only complaint. They only accept cash but there's a Bank of America ATM in the parking lot.
