I had my first tattoo ever done by them. I went back for a second, I wanted scales to represent my anxiety and reminder to be balanced blah blah and she told me they can’t do it because scales go against their religion. This happened to me again literally last week. I wanted 2 crescent moons done and she told me it was a symbol of the wicked... Like what?! Lol I’m dissapointed because my first tattoo came out so well and I haven’t been able to return because apparently I’m asking for evil symbols. I’m all for having your own beliefs but I think to turn ppl away because of them and tell them what they want is evil or wrong is really unprofessional. i had 2 tattoos done by them that came out nice. However, years ago i went for my 3rd tattoo, big mistake. music notes on back of neck BUT they were done backwards. yes BACKWARDS! I freaked out, but i was young, and shocked, i didn't know how to react. make sure u realize looking in a hand mirror at another mirror behind you, its a mirror image flipped times 2. i wish he had confirmed or made sure before starting. I noticed about 3/4 the way through from feeling the needle that it was like a lowercase 'b' and not a 'd' which is the way a note is supposed to be. Looking back I am disappointed at his reaction, and mine. He didn't know which way a note goes! and then once realizing the mistake, we agreed to add more the correct way to make it kind of a swirl; yet i still had to pay for the tattoo. i wish i stood up for myself and that he would have double checked something like this, being an artist. I dont ususally leave reviews, but since it did happen, now I wanted to leave this as a warning. I am having this laser removed at $150 a pop, for up to 12 sessions! and it hurts much more than a tattoo :/ Read Less

I have gotten all five of my tattoos from Brandon here at Sleepy Hollow. He did an awesome job every time and was most professional. Brandon is so talented and a trip to be around! They are an extremely clean establishment and thorough with their instructions for aftercare. Sleepy Hollow is family run (by the nicest family too!) and has been in business for many, many years. I've had my tattoos for well over ten years and they still look great and I get compliments all the time on how beautiful and colorful they are. I've been getting tattooed here for 4 years now. The shop is bright, colorful, and it's Halloween everyday in there. The artists are both super talented, and the work that I have gotten completed gets complimented all of the time. There is an earlier review here, where the customer whines about them charging for a touch up. NOBODY WORKS FOR FREE, especially when you ADMIT you didn't take proper care of your tattoo. When you leave the shop, they actually give you a full page of instructions on how to care for your tattoo (along with a weeks supply of ointment). Listen to my review, not that of some entitled brat. This place does awesome work, and the artists really listen to your ideas, and run with them. Read Less

First impressions of the shop were awesome. Loved the Halloween themed decor and various tattoo inspirations on the walls. The customer service was alright. The man behind the counter wasn't too friendly but not everyone is.  My issue was when I stated what I wanted which was my zodiac sign, which are Libra scales. I was totally blown off. I was told any other tattoo shop would be more than willing to tattoo a libra scale on me. His reasoning? Because he is of Christian faith and doesn't believe in it. I truly thought he was kidding when he told me that. Isn't the customer always right? If another denomination of religion came into the shop, and wanted something that they believed in represented on their body, you wouldn't tattoo it? I'm sorry I found it all ridiculous. I had a really positive experience from the time I set my appointment to the time I walked out with my finished tattoo. Brandon had come highly recommended and I had seen his work through their fb site and on some people I know. Brandon really took his time drawing up my tattoo until I was a hundred percent satisfied.... It was a cover up that i thought was going to be really challenging because of the location and he did an awesome job. He made me feel super comfortable... I could have fallen asleep on the table but the Howard Stern show was keeping me awake and laughing. The shop gave very clear directions on how to care for my tattoo and I followed them exactly..... 5 months later it still looks new and I had no issues that required touching up. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!I came to Sleepy Hollow for my first tattoo and the moment (like for many people) was very big and sentimental for me. The tattoo I had in mind took 5years to figure out. It was for my best friend who had tragically past away and I wanted to create something special in hopes of preserving her memory. I ended up choosing Sleepy Hollow because i wanted to get the tattoo where me and my best friend were from and since i didnt live there anymore (i live in LA), the location felt symbolic. When I arrived, I explained my situation and the people there were really nice. They explained the process and made me feel very comfortable . After the tattoo was finished, I loved it and was very happy with the outcome.Upon my return to LA, I unfortunately didn't moisturize the tat enough and the color started to fade and eventually peel off. I emailed the shop and they said it happens often, especially on the wrist area, which was where I had my tattoo. I asked if I could come in next time I was in CT for a retouch and they said sure, but its gonna cost 20. I was surprised since most tattoo shops don't charge for a retouch and also, since sleepy hollow was already expensive and my tat is the size of a dollar coin, that they wouldn't do it for free. The staff member didn't budge and said that that's the way it is, so I decide to accept the charge because if I went to any other tattoo shop they would have charged me more because I didn't get it done there.After almost a year away, I finally had plans to be in  CT. I reached out to the shop and told them I would be in town in two weeks and if I could schedule a long overdue retouch. The shop said they were full and couldn't fit me in. I asked if it was possible to squeeze me since since the tat would take less than 45min and since I will only be in town for 3 days. They immediately said no and wouldn't even attempt to help. I then said that I will change my plans and come in on a Friday instead if that helps and they said sorry we only do retouches during the week up until Thurs. I couldn't believe how rude and unhelpful they were. I was so disappointed with them and how they handled the situation that it ruined my experience, which was supposed to be very meaningful and  don't recommend anyone going there. I never ended up getting my tattoo retouched since they couldn't help and am now stuck with having to pay more money to go elsewhere. Read Less
