Very clean shop! The staff that were there were friendly and welcoming. I had tattoo done to cover a (quite embarrassing) quote, which I originally had on my shoulder and Josh covered it up so well! Recently got pierced here, love the clean areas, was made really comfortable since my piercing made me really nervous. Had an issue with the bare bell being to short was fixed no issues. Will be getting more piercings from here. Read Less

I've gone to pelican twice for piercings now. The prices are fair and the staff is very friendly. I got my nose pierced about a year and a half ago by joe. The process was easy, he made me feel very comfortable and everything was super sterile. I decided to get my belly button pierced earlier this year. Unfortunately joe wasn't working when I went. However the woman (I forgot her name SORRY!) did an amazing job. She was nice, knowledgeable and took great care in piercing me. I recommend pelican for any piercing needs! Read Less

Just got my nose pierced by Joe the piercer there. The neighborhood is kind of sketchy but, inside is very clean and comforting. Joe makes you feel very comfortable and calms your nerves a lot. He also gives you a lot of information about after care. Overall really great experience. Read Less

I had a fantastic experience at this shop. Joe, the owner and piercer, was wonderful. He made me feel comfortable immediately. He explained the entire piercing process, including his sterile technique, as well as what I would feel when he actually pierced me. I was quite nervous going in to have it done, but he made me feel quite relaxed, and it was quite easy in the end. The staff there was also very polite and helpful. I forget the artist's name but I went here to get a neck tattoo, which came out fabulous. The shading and detail, and color came out beautifully just like the picture he drew.   After the guy was finished I decided I wanted to add a few little hearts to make it complete. He told me to come back in 2 weeks and he would add them in for an additional $20, which was fine.  Two weeks later I came back he added the hearts and told me to keep the $20 since the hearts were so minor.  Came in last week to get my son's ear pierced for his bday.  He was so nervous but the piercer was so patient and gentle with him and made him laugh.  He made sure the placement was right and it came out perfect.Pelican tattoo is a great place! BOLD WILL HOLDI was recently tattoo at this shop... I had Rick and had a great experience ... I went in with my idea and placement ... He nailed both ... Moreover I got a strong American Traditional tattoo... Rick at Pelican is an American traditional Tattooer ! If you know what that means!!! If you want a sold bold traditional tattoo go see this guy.I cant speak for City slickers tattoo...but I'm glad I didn't read that review first... if I had I would have missed out on a great tattoo at a great price point.. Just saying!I  feel far to many people think that they know tattooing do to the over saturation of tattoo based shows on T.V. It's not paint by numbers here... its tattoo! Covered in Warrior Paint!! I got a tattoo done at Pelican recently by Rick. I wasn't happy with the service or results. I liked his concept of what I wanted to get done, but his follow-through was off. He talked a really good game, and gave me a drawing I liked. He pretty much FAILED at everything else.The application of the tattoo was a a nightmare. He told me I had "deep skin" and practically stabbed me with the needle. When I told him his needle pressure was too intense, he seemed to pick a sore spot and continue to dig deep, making it more uncomfortable/painful for me. The tattoo came out so/so. Some lines were sloppily drawn and it didn't include minute details I had expected, not to mention paid for. When I confronted him about it, both he and the manager got extra defensive and accused me of haggling. By then I was so fed up and embarrased that I spent my hard earned dollars, only to get a mediocre image from these guys.At best, the Pelican crew is just barely keeping their heads above water and trying to make a few bucks tattooing and piercing. At worst, they are sadistic, talentless scumbags who might be better off drawing for comic strips. There is a reason there are no recent reviews for Pelican, because I can guarantee they'd be BAD. BEWARE, think twice before you give these guys your service!! Read Less

I got my latest tattoo done here and it was a great experience. There was a bit of a wait because someone was in the middle of getting a tattoo done. The owner was very friendly  and professional. I showed the tattoo artist examples of what i wanted but i told him and he drew it out perfectly. The tattoo healed perfectly an d is the only one I have that didn't need any touch ups. Read Less

This is an excellent parlor. Everyone that works here is so nice and professional. Joe the owner and piercer is such a caring guy and will definitely calm your nerves if you're getting a piercing.  He did a great job piercing my septum. This was my first piercing and he did a great job explaining everything I had to do for the after care. Great thing about Joe is he doesn't look like a typical piercer at all... you will see.I have also been tattooed at Pelican but unfortunately the artist left. There are still other awesome tattoo artists at this shop that won't let you down.Pelican also has a variety of things for sale from hats, body jewelry, and sex toys. I will definitely go back to Pelican for another piercing or maybe even a tattoo. Read Less
