From my first call asking if they prefer appointments over walkins... I was in love! Ken answered the phone and spoke to me as if I was an old friend. I explained how I was from NYC and heard of the shop. I explained how I was only in town for 48 hours. I told him my idea (a memorial for a friend) and he made me feel that he understood. We texted and spoke several times in the next 12 hours to the point that when we met me the next day... on his day off... I was greeted with an amazing hug. After the usual small talk he was all about the drawing He is truly an artist. He took what I texted, with what I said and knew better to read between the lines... he sketched with me in the room and walked me through every step... I felt not only heard but understood. We were a team. The finally art was more than what I could ever imagine. For the next hour we engaged in amazing conversation while I felt very little pain and it was all at my pace. I swear we bonded on a level that I wish I had with my friends. Did I mention Ken is amazing? In the end, I had a story. I had my friend's life and I had this tattoo journey that led me to Ken. Jim just did a tattoo for my friend. He was very professional, friendly, and it looks amazing. The colors are beautiful and he coordinated the image perfectly to go with her shoulder.
