Went in this past Saturday, September 24th, for a small tattoo behind my ear.Colin did a great job! Even though it was a rather small tattoo and only took about 5 minutes he was very nice and made sure it was the way I wanted it to be and didn't treat me any different than if I wanted a more detailed tattoo. Stopped by on a recent Saturday just as they opened... I wanted a specific, small tattoo but it needed to be precise. I'm new to the area, and after seeing such great reviews, stopped in to ask about my tattoo desires (I have a soundwave pattern printed out of my dog's heartbeat, was hoping to get it inked on my left wrist)..would it be possible, would it fit where I wanted, and is there someone there good enough to do the small, sharp & precise lines? Sure enough, there was! The guy at the desk, whom it turns out was Colin, the owner and artist featured in all the cool photos around the lobby, was super helpful. He quickly sketched out what it would look like, nailing the size scale and the soundwave itself....and before I knew it, the work was done! It came out EXACTLY like I pictured it (see photo!) I love the atmosphere of chroma. It is so clean and all of the artists are fun to hang with. A lot of random fun conversations happen while you're getting tattooed which takes your mind off of the discomfort/pain. Ace is my tattoo artist and he did a wonderful job! I have had it with piss poor customer service. It's Saturday after 1p.m. I get there and find the place dark and locked. The hours are clearly stated on Yelp and the front door, as open at noon. I don't care how great the artists are and I don't give a frogs fat ass what may have happened to keep them from opening on time. If you own a business, it's your responsibility to communicate with the consumer and let them know if you're going to be closed when you should be open. A simple phone message, a paper sign on the door, a freakin' smoke signal, anything to let people know you are not going to adhere to your stated hours of operation. I could have easily overlooked this if I had any kind of communication to let me know what the situation is. It's so frustrating to run into this kind of nonsense. You'll never see me again,, nor will you see my cash. I was hoping to connect with an artist to have a large back piece done, and based on the reviews here on Yelp, I thought this would be the place to do that. Guess I was wrong. Read Less

WHY have I not written a review on this fabulous shop yet?? New shop, Super clean and sterile. if you've been researching where to get your first tattoo but are nervous, please stop looking and go here. I have personal been tattooed by Jimmy, I am nervous to go to anyone eles, as well as I want my entire sleeve to look like all the same work and one piece. Although I did get my dad a gift certificate to go see Collin the shop owner, which his work looks amazing. All the artist they have hired on are actually top notch amazing. No doubt! I let jimmy free hand half of my arm, and it is real art. Line work is amazing and 0 complaints about any pieces of my sleeve. I went tonight to get my tattoo on my back. Colin did it & he's great! everyone is so friendly and calming! we had a lot of fun, the whole 10 minutes it took him to do it :) I was referred to Chroma by my dads friend and I would recommend them to anyone! I wasn't expecting the tattoo parlor to be that nice, I loved the environment & the location! Everyone at Chroma Collective are friendly, clean, professional, and overall great people! I have to admit, for what I got it was a little bit over priced, but the customer service was so great I didn't even care to pay him & tip him generously. Chroma Collective is NOT what you picture when you think of a tattoo shop. It is super clean, classy, organized and professional. Colin and Jimmy the Kid do amazing works of art. My hubby had his very first tattoo done a couple of months ago and it was a great experience! Jimmy talked to him in advance a few times, texted some ideas back and forth with drawings and asked for changes. We couldn't have been happier with the result. They gave a whole sheet of after care instructions which we followed to the letter and the tattoo is perfect and gets tons of compliments. I unfortunately didn't even make it to my appointment. It's a gorgeous, clean new shop, but the service was so bad I decided it wasn't worth shelling out the money.Getting a cost and time estimate was like pulling teeth! They aren't cheap and I was never given a full time estimate just the hourly charge.I called first to make an appointment for a consultation, and was told to just come by whenever. I went far out of my way to meet up. Instead of sitting down and planning out the tattoo, he had me stand at the main desk. My "consultation" lasted about 5 minutes and had a list of 10 words he would use as a guideline. I could have done this by phone, what a waste of time!I was told I would see a partial drawing on the day of and then more would be drawn on, time of. For a pay by the hour tattoo, this is getting expensive! With a small list and a half done drawing, my hesitations caught up.For the price they ask, things should not be half assed! For a permanent piece of art, I want to love the design, not receive something unknown!There are places with work as good and better with better service and more affordable. Read Less
