Denice is amazing! I was really nervous when I first went in to get my nostril piercing but she walked me through everything and was very gentle. I went in a few months later to make sure it was healing well (as per her request.... make sure to listen to this in case you’re not healing well. She WILL help!). A few months after that I had a special request for a nose ring so I wrote her an email describing it and she knew exactly what I wanted. She is great at answering emails and so very helpful. Monica did a lovely small tattoo of a rainbow for me, and Denice(?) did a great job piercing my son’s ear. However, after only 3 weeks, one of his earrings fell out randomly while he was doing his homework. I was sitting across from him - it just fell out on the floor, and the small opal in it disappeared. Because the earrings were supposed to stay in for 10 weeks, and because each of the two earrings cost $40 ($80 total), I was anxious to get it replaced immediately. Since I had spent over $100 on his ears, and got a tattoo in addition, and the earrings were clearly supposed to stay put for 10 weeks, I expected the earring to be replaced no cost. He was not fiddling with it in anyway, he did not cause it to fall out, my guess is it wasn’t fastened tightly enough to begin with, but Denice’s immediate question was “what did you do to it??” When we asked that she replace it no charge, she said “No, I can’t replace your jewelry.” So I am disappointed that I had to pay for the replacement earring. Denice did respond to my review below that she did give me a 50% discount on our service - i’m not sure where the discount came in. I paid $40, full cost, for the replacement earring - I guess the discount is that she did not charge me to for the few minutes it took to put the replacement earring in my son’s ear? Again, because the earring is supposed to stay in for 10 weeks in order to heal properly, and the $40 earring fell out after 3 weeks - I didn’t expect to be charged for the few minutes it took to put the earring back in; especially since I did pay full price for the replacement earring. However, I guess the policy is that I should have been charged another $80 total to replace an earring that fell out long before it was supposed to come out, after paying over $100 to have his ear pierced in the first place. I understand companies have their policies and people deserve to be paid for their work. I was just surprised that I was expected to pay full price when it seemed like an accident - not our fault - that the earring did not stay put. I was disappointed, but I understand that the policy is what it is. His ear is doing well, thank you for asking, I appreciate that Denice did a good job. Read Less

Took my almost 9 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced -- we wanted a professional piercing business rather than "the mall." Denice is absolutely wonderful. She focused on my daughter, and told her at the beginning that if at any point she was unsure or uncomfortable, that we'd just stop and she could come back to see her another time. :-) Denice purposely took extra time cleaning her station, washing her hands, etc., giving my daughter time to really think on it to make sure she was ready to go. The shop and their entire process is extremely clean. WELL worth the extra money you pay over the crappy gun used at mall stores. I can't recommend them enough! Read Less

My wife and I have had a few pieces done here by Kevin. The shop is great equal parts cool and sanitary with fantastic art work. The wonderful humans that work at the shop are very nice and cool. Super impressed with this shop, best one I've ever been to. I came in to get new jewelry for a piercing because I was allergic to the old jewelry the amount of time everyone spent helping me choose the right piece and explaining everything about it was amazing. Denise walked me through everything she was doing with changing it and gauging up as well as why the previous jewelry wasn't working. The professionalism of everyone in the shop blew me away and I absolutely will be going back. I've gone to Kaitlin a few times to have work done. Some small, some big. I am always impressed with their professionalism, artistry and how clean the store is. Every time I'm there people are cleaning, wiping shelves, dusting, etc. which is a big deal to me. Kaitlin is kind and pleasant to chat with while she works. I always give her an idea of what I'm thinking and then leave it to her to come with the design and she never disappoints. She even covered up a tattoo that I had that kept fading. My girlfriend called last week to get her daith pierced to help with her migrain headache and was given a price that was double the price of anywhere else she called but being that inksmith was the closest shop she gave them a shot. She was given attitude the whole time. Next my 14 year old daughter wanted to get her eyebrow pierced and my girlfriend called inksmith again to see if she could come in to get it done and was told no due to how much my daughters face is going to change Denise said that she would not do any nose lip or face piercing on a 14 year old when my daughter went to them last year and got her nose done by Denise. My girlfriends sister who is 14 just got her lip pierced by Denise the other day and denise responce was its a family thing because she knows her mom. Ink smith is a great place to get your ink or piercings done at. I personally haven't been pierced there but I do have over 20-30 hours of ink done by Kevin.
