I stopped in on a whim...met Nick.  He turned my idea into something much better than I could have ever dreamed of. I thought I wanted just one small tattoo of my dog, but ended up gettin an entire sleeve of amazing artwork. I had gotten one small tattoo 20 years prior and was totally scared. I really liked the atmosphere at the shop, very clean, really comfortable place to be. My artist Adrian on the other hand not so much. I showed him a rough draft of my design, he drew it up and it was different than what I had in mind so I asked for a few minor changes. Adrian was very rude about the changes and almost seemed offended at any changes I wanted. I was trying to be cooperative and nice so after the few changes I said it was perfect and we started, but sort of felt the cold shoulder the whole session. The tattoo healed not so great and he left out some pretty obvious detail. Always want to keep it positive in reviews but honestly this was over all not the greatest experience I've had getting some new ink. This place is amazing! Called for an appointment a day ahead which I was worried about, but they were able to get me in. I walked in and fell in love with the shop. It's very antique and vintage inside. My artist was Adrian. He made me feel super comfortable right off the bat. My tattoo took about 30-45 mins and we talked and joked around the entire time. artist: dakotawalking into the shop, staff is extremely friendly. i had not booked an appointment, but i called a day before and was informed that they could squeeze me and my friend in early morning. no price was negotiated but whomever i spoke to said dakota would be my artist, and to ask for him when i walked in. me and my friend wanted matching tattoos of a paintbrush and a calligraphy pen on the back of our hand so i showed dakota and he printed the image very small. i had suggested perhaps a bit larger in order to incorporate more detail because detail was my only real concern, but he said it would look a little off if it was larger so i trusted his judgement. (my mistake) i wish he would have informed me that he couldnt detail something so small, or asked that i changed the placement. my tattoo (first photo, right) it looks like he gave up trying to make the pen and made it flat. not only that but my image is far shorter than my friends. shading doesnt allow for any detail in either of our tattoos so it looks like two sticks basically. dakota charged $100 per tattoo. i didnt want to bicker because my mistake was not asking for a peice over the phone and before i even recieved the tattoo. but i have 6 already and this is the most half-assed, most expensive, smallest tattoo i have ever recieved. in this case i did not get what i paid for. We have a friend who passed away. My fiancee, my friend, and I all got matching tattoos for our friend. It was important to us that the ink was vegan, and it was all of our first tattoos. The artists here, Nick, James, and a girl (she was super nice, shorter hair, sorry I forgot her name), were so supportive. They let us cry about our friend, they listened. They were so helpful with knowing everything about to prepare for getting the tattoos and how to properly care for them. They were all very helpful with great attitudes and great artwork. Our friend actually got her tattoo after we got ours, they didnt have the design anymore, but the girl artist was able to exactly replicate ours just from looking at them. It was very impressive. I went to faith tattoo gallery with a friend this last Tuesday to get a small piece on my lower arm done, my third tattoo total. I didn't have an appointment, but they were able to get me in same day. I worked with Nick, who had been tattooing for 11 years, and he made sure I was getting what I wanted and did a great job. My boyfriend and I went in about a year and a half ago, and my boyfriend started his sleeve and got half his arm done with something that looked NOTHING like what he wanted, and after 5 months, it was completely faded. He then had to go to another artist and get it redone, and the artist that redid it was not impressed by who did it the first time. Yesterday I got two tattoos done by AJ Box.The whole process was seamless. I called the day before for an appointment ASAP. They were so accommodating and easy to schedule with - I loved that I could send everything via text and communicate via text- given I was at work at the time and couldn't hop on the phone. Never once have I gone to a tattoo shop where the artist doesn't even introduce himself, set up in front of you OR negotiate prices with you before one does the tattoo. It's such a shame that I'm even writing this review because I fucking hate being that guy. I tried speaking to the dude who did my tattoo and he couldn't even swallow his courage to call me back and ironically the owner went out of town the day I went in to complain. Seems fishy to me. I would NEVER recommend ...getting tattoo my AJ because of his quality of customer service. I hate to say that this was a double standard but this dude charged me WAY to much for such a simple behind the ear tattoo that took 20 minutes cost me 120$. Mind you that I tried going in to see if he wanted to add some more to my ear and I wouldn't be writing this review. But clearly no one there gave a shit. I live in Chicago and travel to Golden now just to get a tattoo by him, he's incredible! The shop is always clean and the atmosphere is so professional. So I debated on a one star or two star review of Faith Tattoo. I am going with one star because it needs to stand out. Let me be clear that Faith is a nice environment, clean shop, cool artists who know how to tattoo. I have heard lots of good things about the shop so I decided to get my next piece done there. In case you do not want to read the rest of this and want the point of why I am writing this negative review it is because of the outrageous price that I was charged. The price equaled out to about $187/hour. ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-SEVEN DOLLARS PER HOUR.About a month ago I walked in, told the nice gentleman at the desk what I wanted and roughly what it would cost. I desired a tattoo on my left forearm. He said depending on the overall size and scope, 250- maybe 350 dollars. That seemed a little on the steep side but not terrible. I looked through the portfolios of all the artists and told the clerk who I wanted to book with. I believe it was the owner of the shop (he has some sweet art). This artist had about a one month wait which I was ok with waiting for because I really liked his art.A month goes by and I am ready for my afternoon appointment. I get a text message asking if I can come in early. I get approval from work and leave early. After I agree to come in 4 hours ahead of schedule they inform me (by sort of asking) that the artist I booked a month ago would not be doing my tattoo but another guy was super excited about doing it. Ok, not that big of a deal.We talk about what I want and the size (on my forearm). I told him if for artistic reasons he felt it needed to roll over the sides of my arm a bit that was no big deal. He sketches some guidelines and begins tattooing. By the time we are finished up, we have had roughly 2 hours 45 minute (maybe 3 hours) of tattoo time on the machine. Including breaks, and some reorganizing the entire deal was less then 4 hours. The tattoo looks pretty good, time to pay up.I head to the cashier, the clerk checks with the artist about what the price will be. He comes back and in a soft voice says, "on top of the deposit you left ($60) we are looking at $500 even." I repeated back "$500??" He said yes. Being that there is basically no way out of this at this point and I feel like I almost blacked out at the mention of the price I pay up and leave. After thinking over the ordeal for much of the night while laying in bed I did the math and couldn't believe that $560 / 3 hours of tattooing was $186.66 per hour. It made me feel sick to my stomach. It made me write this review. I expect if the shop responds they will say something along the lines of "$560 for a half sleeve is not that bad." I agree. If that is what is asked for by the customer. If I said, I want a half sleeve, I want my ENTIRE lower arm to be tattooed then I would expect more money. What is extremely unprofessional and I have never experienced before, is letting the artist kind of make the piece his/her own and they take the liberty to almost double the size and price of a permanent piece of artwork on your body. Again, the tattoo is fine, I am really ok with having this much ink on me as this is my 8th tattoo. I could not imagine if this happened to someone who did not want a big dark tattoo to wrap around their entire arm - I bet there would be a law suit. This one star is for the manipulative CRAZY price of the tattoo I received. Not a negative comment about the artists, the cleanliness, or the atmosphere. Due to this very important aspect of tattooing, I would caution people in the west Metro / Golden area to get a specific quote if they go to Faith or just try somewhere else unless money is not an issue. Great experience at Faith.  I have a very close circle of 5 buddies and we all wanted to get the same tattoo together.  The first place I thought of was Faith because a friend and his Wife both got amazing custom tattoos done there.  Faith was amazing through the whole process. We sent a couple of ideas in via text message and Terry came up with the perfect design and in 3 weeks we were in the shop together getting it done.  The shop is clean with a great vibe and it's in a great location.  Went in for my touch up today and Terry got mine totally dialed in.  I am beyond happy with Terry and his crew and I will continue to  recommend Faith to all of my friends.  I'll be back! This review is based on artist Nick P not Faith Tattoo. From reviews and reputation, Faith seems like an amazing shop. I worked with Nick when he was at his prior shop location and had a consultation and put down my deposit for a large tat. Communication after the consultation was very hard and limited. He did not respond to most communication/questions and I was hard pressed to know where he was at with the actual design and his creative standpoint. A few days prior to our first session he texted me and informed me he was switching shops to one that was in a complete opposite location and what I wanted to do. He also mentioned having a studio in Denver but when I inquired on the address on 3 different occasions, he avoided the question and never told me. I let him know that I couldn't go to the golden location and asked for a PARTIAL refund of my deposit. He was rude in response, refused and try to pin it on his old shop even though it was a direct payment to him. I would be wary working with this artist. Read Less

This is a great tattoo shop, period. Not seedy, not dark, not unfriendly. The owner in particular is very nice and very helpful, and all the artists we met and spoke with seemed genuine and more to the point, quite talented. The tattoo itself was a fairly simple word in Latin-type font/script, and done by artist Joseph. The line work he did was amazing; he was extremely adept and easy to interact with. Very thankful that we selected Joseph, and we recommend him highly. I like this place because it feels a bit more upscale and bright than other places. I've been to parlors that stink of weed, where the artists are clearly high and/or belligerent and/or dismissive, and where the shop itself seems more focused on their own insular "edgy" community than giving the customer a really great piece of body art. Faith Tattoo Gallery is the EXACT opposite. If you don't live in Golden, it's worth the drive. Read Less

I am a huge fan of Terry (owner and chief artist) and his crew. I have been since day one. I and 4 other friends/family members sport ink from Terry or one of his apprentices. When they first opened (summer 2006?), I was working across the street and went to their grand opening. I was instantly impressed by Terry and his wife as people, Terry as an artist, and the space as a space. They gave away some excellent prizes that night (I won a t-shirt with some of Terry's art that I wore until it just plain wore out). My then-roommate won some free ink. Tangent: Terry is a genius when it comes to cover-ups. His portfolio at the shop has some outstanding before-and-after sets that showcase this type of work. A month later my then-roommate went down to get his work and I went with him. The piece was a Phoenix that my roommate had created and Terry made better. Seriously awesome work. Next, another friend got a companion piece to an existing tattoo. The original tattoo was a hawk in front of the sun. The new piece was a crescent moon with remainder of the circle darkened in. I have never seen detail like this. Third to get done was myself.  I got a design that I created, and once again, Terry improved. (See "My Tattoo by Terry - 5 years old" in photos).Fourth was my now ex-wife, who got two pieces, a Tibetan-style tiger and Tibetan-style dragon. We may not get along anymore, but her tattoos are still beautiful. Finally, my current girlfriend/future ex-wife, got some work of her own design done by Nate, Terry's apprentice. Scales of justice (no surprise since we are both lawyers). Simple work with unbelievable delicate lines. Two years ago i got my first tattoo as a birthday gift from my dad. I wasnted a Robot i had picked out. I had heard alot of good reviews on Faith Tattoo from my friends and chose to go with them for my own tatts. When i came in the studio to talk about my tattoo, Terry was very excited to help me out. He doesn't have a heavy hand ( incase you are sensitive), so it hurts as little as a tattoo can. The out come was a very nice tattoo. About a year ago i went back for my seccond. Even though he does alot of tattoos with in a year, he remembered me, my robot i got, and my dad! This tattoo was a complex Tattoo that required some creativity on The artist's part. Terry did a wonderful job on the second one just as well. I am always getting complements on how well the tattoo is drawn, and the lines. I moved to florida and have had a tattoo in mind for about 9 months now. I moved back here to Golden in with my tattoo reserved for Terry. I will always trust him with my permenant decissions. Faith had 100% positive reviews on all of the review sites I looked at and I went down there with an idea in mind. I was greeted by the owner, Terry, and he immediately took interest in drawing up an image that refined what I had in mind. The color shading was perfect and the end product was amazing. I decided on an amazing piece of artwork that I wanted to get tattooed on my back. After visiting different tattoo studios I decided to go with Terry at Faith, and I'm so happy that I did!!! He does amazing work, which was very apparent in his portfolio. His studio/gallery is beautiful and super clean (which I think is very important). When he was done with my tattoo (2 1/2 hours) later I was so happy with what he did. It was even better then I imagined - I seriously thought I was going to cry it was that beautiful. I love the location of my tattoo, but it bums me out that I never get to actually see it. Terry Weber, the owner/operator of Faith Tattoo Gallery is probably the best artist I have ever seen. He has done work on myself, my girlfriend, my roommate, and two of my other friends, and we all rave about his work. The atmosphere is very relaxed. A continually rotating art show adorns the walls and keeps things interesting. There is no flash art on the walls, as all his work is custom. Tarry has a portfolio of his in the lobby, and seems to be very gifted with cover-ups of other tattoos. Whether you have your own artwork or just an idea of what you would like, Terry can create something just right for you.
