Had a great experience here today! Got a hoop for a cartilage piercing and got my rook pierced. Hayley was very calm and soft spoken, which eased my nerves immediately. I only had to wait 15 mins as a walk in and the piercing only took a couple minutes. The shop was really cool inside, not like usual intimidating biker vibes, and the staff at the front desk was great. All in all, the piercing barely hurt and wasn't super expensive. I absolutely love this place and love the atmosphere. I first came here April 2017 to get my first ever nose piercing and was SO nervous, i have a low pain tolerance so i was scared it was going to hurt. My sister and I got taken into a room in the down stairs area. Haley did both mine and my sisters nose piercing. She was talking to me to calm me down and assuring where I wanted it and was making me feel very comfortable which I appreciated since I was freaking out, before I knew it I was done and it didn't hurt one bit which was very surprising. But it healed well and never had any issues with the piercing. I came back January 2019 to buy a hoop and that's it, instantly I was greeted and there was a TON of people in the shop but i was helped right away and found what I was looking for with the help of a girl at the front, she said Haley will take you downstairs and fit you for the hoop, and I was confused cause I was just going to buy the hoop and put it in at home but they put it in for me which was super nice and was super fast and I got Haley again! She's great and knows what she's doing, she switched out the piercing for me and I was on my way! The store is clean and the staff is nice! I came here to get my first tattoo and had the most amazing experience. When I walked in, I could immediately see that the place was super clean and professional. I didn't have an appointment l, but I asked if there were walk ins available today. I showed the woman behind the counter what I wanted, and she said she would go see if anyone was available. The guy who ended up doing my tattoo was named Michael. He was super nice, and worked with me on what I wanted because it would have been difficult in the location I originally wanted it. While he set up, I noticed that he was wearing gloves and taking new needles out. Very hygienic. I mentioned it was my first tattoo, and so he was really nice the whole time because I had a lot of questions. He went slow at first so I could be accustomed to how it felt. My tattoo was very tiny, so it didn't take that long but he made sure to ask if I was happy with it and double checked his work before he was done. He also allowed me to bring my friend back with me so I could hold her hand during. Overall, my experience with tribal rites was amazing. My daughter and I recently got tattoos with Katherine Smith at Tribal Rites.  The entire experience was great.  Right when you walk in the door, the first thing you notice is that Tribal Rites is spotless and well lit.  The main floor is where you check in and they sell body jewelry.  The jewelry displays definitely have a nice jewelry store vibe. The attention to detail in the way the store is displayed, lit, and managed immediately made me feel like we were in the right place to get our first tattoos.  We met with Katherine for our consultation and were lucky enough that she had one opening about a month later where she could work us in rather than her normal 2-3 month wait.  She helped us with our designs giving us her professional opinion and coming up with the perfect size and locations for our tattoos.  We were both getting two small tattoos but they were special to us and she made them perfect. I don't ever write reviews good or bad - but my experience there was far too great to not give credit where credit is due. My cousin and I have been discussing getting tattoos together forever but we are both really picky and it was her first tattoo. We finally decided to go for it and walked into Tribal Rites after hearing nothing but good things. They got us in quickly and weren't put off by us being walk-ins at all. Mikal was our tattoo artist and he was awesome. He hasn't worked there long but he's a total professional. The tattoos we got were small and simple and probably not an artists' dream but he approached them enthusiastically and was thrilled to do my cousins first tattoo and showed gratitude for her trust. The entire interior was as clean as a hospital which is always comforting. Our tattoos turned out even better than we were envisioning and our overall experience was perfect, comfortable, and I would recommend this place to literally anyone. Went in to get my nose pierced about a month and a half ago with Hayley and she did great! I was afraid because the first time I got my nose pierced, the placement wasn't right. Today I went in to get my navel pierced which I was more afraid of because I've had it pierced twice before and the second time was so painful and the placement was also off! Got my septum pierced here. Very nice place, clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. My piercing was relatively inexpensive (about $90 including jewelry, a saline spray, and tip if I remember correctly?) and very quick. I was in and out in a few minutes. Totally got my nipples pierced on a whim today. I had been thinking about it for many months and finally summoned the courage to just go for it! I have tattoos and have had several other body piercings, however something about the nipples really scared me. I was nervous as hell. I decided to go to the shop and just ask some questions about the process, pricing, etc.. Ashley was the sweetest, friendliest, most supportive and caring person! She talked me through the whole process and was sympathetic about me being nervous/scared. After a walk around the block, I decided to come back and go for it. I was going to get just one (partially because I was scared about the pain) but she talked me into doing both and reassured me. Again, Ashley was so professional and did such an awesome job! If I could give Tribal Rites zero stars I would. My husband and I walked in and told the person working that we needed to buy a gift card for my daughter. We asked her to let us know how much it would take to buy some of the items my daughter wanted to buy. We bought a gift card that was quite a lot for us and they gave us a gift receipt which usually means you can return it. No one mentioned any no return policies. When my daughter got it for her birthday she said it wasn't what she wanted. I called back and was told that Tribal Rites has a no return policy on everything including gift cards. Had my nipples pierced here which I was very worried about getting done (after reading so many bad things about it). I called in advance to schedule an appointment and the girl on the phone was very nice, told me that I could come in whenever I wanted as long as I came in before they closed. Girls at the front desk were nice and it wasn't a very long wait. Piercings hurt obviously, but nowhere near as bad as I thought they would be. They also healed up pretty fast. I've had a couple tattoos from Tribal Rites and they definitely turned out nice and have aged well. I have no complaints about the artists who've tattooed me (Erik and Ben are great and talented) but my issues are with the disorganized scheduling (or lack thereof) and lack of communication. About a month ago or so, I scheduled a tattoo and the girl I'd spoken with took down my information over the phone. She said that for the small piece I wanted, I didn't need a consultation appointment but I still needed to come in to put down a deposit. I hadn't placed a deposit yet but about a week later, the artist I'd wanted to do my piece was doing walk-ins so I came into the shop and got added to a wait list, and put down a deposit for the walk-in. I asked the girl at the counter to cancel my appointment i had made previously and to just pencil me in for the walk-in instead. When she started flipping through their scheduling book, she could find absolutely no record that I'd even made an appointment! The only thing she could find was for another person with the same first name as me, getting a tattoo on the day I'd scheduled, with another artist. This was irritating because if I hadn't come in for a walk-in, they wouldn't have even known I was supposed to get a tattoo so they probably would've scheduled someone else and I wouldn't have been able to get the piece I wanted. At least that worked out in both of our favors but it was very unprofessional to not have accurate appointments and scheduling.I still put down the deposit for the walk-in and ended up cancelling later that day over the phone. The girl I'd spoken with over the phone said I could come pick up my deposit but didn't say when.I came in a couple weeks after this happened to pick up my deposit (busy work life so I just had to pick it up when I could) but the girl at the counter could find no record that I was on a list, cancelled, placed a deposit, etc. and she gave me a hard time about handing over my money after speaking with several other people in the shop. Again, really unprofessional and disorganized.Not only was the lack of organization annoying but she was moderately rude and said that their policy was to pick up the deposit within a day or two of cancelling. What policy?? The other person i had talked to never mentioned a time frame for picking up your deposit for a cancelled appointment. If you have a policy, maybe you should all be on the same page about it and tell your customers about it rather than happily taking their money and then giving them a hard time about giving it back, when no service was exchanged. If you have a policy, maybe get mad at your coworkers for not enforcing it rather than treating your customers like idiots. I don't appreciate being treated like it was my fault for their horrible "record keeping."On top of this, when the girl was giving me a hard time, she asked who'd told me I could pick up my deposit whenever. I described the girl clearly - she had a unique look and there's not that many people working in their shop anyway. Again, she looked at me like I was a moron and like she had no idea who I was talking about. Don't tell me you have no idea what your five coworkers look like..Honestly it's a shame that the staff can't keep an organized schedule, make accurate appointments, and treat [formerly] loyal customers halfway decently. I always recommended tribal rites to friends and strangers alike and still stand by their talented artists, but if you actually want to get a tattoo on a certain day or get a deposit back if you cancel an appointment, I'd definitely recommend going somewhere else. I can't believe that there was no record of my appointments or deposits or anything TWICE within a couple weeks and I'm disgusted that I was treated like a scammer for wanting my deposit back. At least she gave me my money back, albeit reluctantly while looking at me suspiciously.The funniest part is that I just recently received a text to confirm the appointment that I'd cancelled a month ago, had not placed a deposit for, etc. So first you didn't make an appointment for me/lost my info, then text me a month later to confirm my apparently nonexistent appointment? I don't even know.There are plenty of tattoo shops in Fort Collins with plenty of really talented artists who can actually run a business in an organized and professional way so... yeah I'm never coming here again after all of this. Again, it's a damn shame to have great artists but a shop full of people who can't keep anything straight. Seriously, who'd think it'd be that hard to write someone's name and number on a calendar..? Last Thursday I came down from Cheyenne, WY hoping to get my septum pierced while spending the day in Fort Collins. When I walked into the shop they were all really nice and got my in right away. So far, I have been here twice. First, I went with my sister to get her daith pierced, hoping to help with her headaches. They were knowledgeable and thankfully, knew more about it than we did! Their professionalism, knowledge, cleanliness, selection and the kindness of the staff originally won me over! The second time is why I will never go anywhere else: I had both nipple piercings done and a day later one started bleeding uncontrollably. I didn't want to be 'that person' calling about a little blood on my piercing so I waited a day until I was sure this wasn't 'normal.' When I finally came in, they saw me immediately, gave me helpful feedback and advised on what to do. They also gave me a shirt so I could get home without blood all over my clothes! Hayley was my piercer today when I went in to get my nips done. She was all around incredible and definitely gave me the best piercing experience I've ever had. Right from walking in the door she was so nonchalant about the whole process (in the best way possible) and had a way of making me feel super confident going into the room. There was a wide array of jewelry to choose from and the atmosphere was very clean. Everything came out of autoclave packaging and the chair was sprayed down before we even left the room. She walked me through everything the entire time, and continued to instill confidence in me and make me feel comfortable throughout the piercing process. I wouldn't get pierced anywhere else. I used to go there when a gentleman by the name of Chacho worked there and he was outstanding. When he left, I continued to go there and get pierced by a gentleman named Chad. I haven't been in in a while but would love to soon. I have never had any problems with any of my piercings from this place and it's very sterile and the employees are very nice.
