I got my daith pierced by Jo-Jo five days ago. He did an amazing job! My mom got her tragus done and he did a good job on that too. He does a good job at piercings. Also piercing prices are very reasonable. It is a very nice and clean shop. The way they do aftercare for piercings is neat. I have been coming here for a long time to get tattoos and piercings. Mostly tattoos. When I called the other day to schedule a tattoo with my usual artist I was told he no longer worked here. I was super scared to let another artist go to town on my arm but Mikes book and work online looked good so I decided to give him a chance. Best thing I ever did! He did such an amazing job on my tattoo!!! I actually came back two days in a row. The first tattoo was 3 hours with lots of detail and the second was some script to go with it. My Brother and I got matching Tattoos by Flebbe at Freakshow - He was awesome to work with and super accommodating. By far one of the best tattoo experiences I've had. On a side note, I see that several reviews for Freakshow call it "Over Priced" - First off, I think that their prices are about the same as any other REPUTABLE Tattoo shop that I have set foot in (anywhere in the US). Sure, if you look hard enough, you can find a shop that will do a back piece for $150 - and the artist won't be able to finish it because he has to go back to prison for getting caught with his 2nd meth lab (which is what happened to me when I was 18 and thought $700 for a back piece was too much). So do yourself a favor, realize this is artwork - and discount artwork comes from discounted artists. Read Less

Recently got a piece from Topher Wood and I'm not thrilled. Asked for black and grey and he took the liberty to add color without saying anything to me. Any tattoo artist worth their salt should at least say something if that's how they want to do their design. This is my first tattoo with color and I didn't want it, can't do much about it now besides say CONSENT IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF PERMANENTLY MARKING SOMEONE'S BODY. The design was what I asked for and technically he's an excellent artist (executed well) but if you have specific tastes this isn't the place to go because he doesn't seem to respect them. Read Less

I want to start off by saying I got my piercing here a couple months ago and it was great! Everyone who pierces here is cool and makes you feel comfortable and at ease so I would recommend coming here for piercings 100%. As for my tattoo though... not only is part of it missing (even though it was on the stencil) the man who did my tattoo was rude and did not understand the fact that he is giving me art that I want and his opinion should not matter. When I pointed out his attitude he said it was just him as a person, so don't expect much better treatment if Jeremy is your artist (most the people on these comments complain about him also so that really shows his abilities). I didn't even know his name until half way through my tattoo when I had to ask what it was. Not friendly, not helpful, not a good environment; he even complained about the fact that my tattoo was pretty much just a basic girl tattoo and I was the same as every other girl who walked through the door (excuse me, am I not PAYING for this?). It was also over priced... $80 for a tiny 2inch tattoo is up charging (I have 2 larger tattoos and they didn't even cost that much) AND as I said it was not even completed and frankly I just didn't want to get into it with this guy to fix it once I noticed. Not the environment you want to be in for a tattoo ever... In fact, I went and got it fixed at Tribal Rites and they have 5 stars from me, always. My friend and I came in today, she got a piercing and I got my first tattoo. Jojo the piercer has pierced my friends and I before, and always does a phenomenal job and is very professional in his process and the methods he uses. He knows exactly where to put piercings and is fun to talk to and makes you feel comfortable!Topher gave me my tattoo and was AWESOME! My dad and I couldn't figure out what we wanted to do while we were in Fort Collins. So I had the idea that I would get the tattoo I'd been wanting and not only did I get an amazing tattoo, I called them last minute, got in about an hour before they closed, and got my tattoo! I showed him what I wanted and he freehand drew it on my back! He ended up making it look so much better than the picture. It's unique and so great! He was absolutely amazing! Incredible experience. I have 5 tattoos, each from a different artist around the country and freakshow is my favorite shop by far. Awesome vibe, and top quality talent. Topher put about 5 hours into my forearm piece and I couldn't be happier with the art, the tattoo came out even better than I could have imagined on my own (sign of a good artist) and I could tell he genuinely was excited to watch it grow into a full sleeve. I have gotten two tattoos at Freakshow. One was a mountain range (which looks amazing), but it was done by an artist from Denver who was subbing in there. The second one I just got. It was a simple arrow that I had them put a line through to make it look like a cross. The lines were uneven, the circles in the arrow weren't even circles, lines overlapped and it didn't even look like what I gave them. My boyfriend got some music symbols on his shoulder a few months ago and his needs a touch up badly as well. It is not even filled in all the way and the lines are messy and uneven as well. I was very disappointed, and will not be going back there! The only good thing I have to say about this place is that the artists were friendly- which is a good quality, especially for newcomers. So one of the piercers named JoJo redid my tongue piercing. I was by myself, and he noticed how anxious I was and talked me through it better than my original piercer. And the best part was: he repeated countless times to me that if I was worried about the healing process, then just come back in. Today, my Fiancé & I went and got our tattoos, they are about 2inchs big and the tattoo is only of an I&S, its only writting too! And my Fiancé's tattoo is messed up as well! We got charged 80 dollars for each and they guy said, "it was a complicated tattoo" but we have tattoos on our leg that were only 60 dollar each and they are bigger and have more detail and it was from the same shop just about a month ago, I believe that I got ripped off and it should have been 80 for both of them and not for each! So on a whim we decided to go get tattoos today - 4 of us went, we all have quite a few tattoos, 4 of my 5 tattoos were done here. Anyway, 2 of us went to one tattoo artist, 2 to another - just a quote tattoo - simple - mine was 6 words, my daughter's was 7 - cost 150.00 each. 300.00! The other 2 had 4 words each - their cost was 60.00 each. Yes I like my tattoo but seriously! I have one that cost 80.00 with color and detail. I'm so ......I can't even find the word. I have two tattoos I treasure from Freakshow. In 2008, at 18, I got my first tattoo from Freakshow, artist Josh. Him and the other artists of the shop really put me at ease. They let me look through their portfolios even though I had brought in a tattoo I designed myself. Josh was great! He put me at total ease, asked me what the tattoo was about. Drew up a much more measured version and even suggested I put it on a different part of my body (for which I'm glad, now I have ...that space for something else). I came away from the experience enjoying my tattoo and I still love it at 26! Then again, in 2010, my sister and I came in to get "Sister tattoos" together. We had a ream of reference images - and once again the artist came through! Mike was awesome. He designed traditional flowers: mine a rose with a lady bug (my sister a daffodil with a butterfly). I was really under-prepared for this tattoo! But Mike was really attentive to my pain tolerance and guided me through the tattoo to its finish. It's by far my most cherished piece (I three in and working on at least one sleeve). I highly recommend this tattoo parlor for those in Fort Collins. I definitely will come back if I'm in town again. I received my first tattoo here. I got coordinates done by Jeremy, he was super friendly and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. However, the lines were not as clean as I have seen or as I believe they could have been. Some of the numbers were slightly uneven and not identical and a period is also missing in between some of the numbers. I still like the tattoo and what it means to me, but I would have liked a cleaner piece of art. Read Less

one of my friends got the majority of his tattoos here. and he is covered in them! they always did a great job on his tattoos and he told me they do piercings too. I tried to go on their piercing event days where its i believe 10 dollars for every piercing and it was packed i mean really packed! you could get on the waiting list but it wasn't even our turn by 11pm after signing up at like 7pm. so we decided to just not go that day and go another day.the other day we went a septum wasn't too bad either, it was 20$ that i paid for my septum.The guy was really nice and i asked him if its gonna hurt more than one of my other piercings i had haha he told me he can make it hurt if he doesn't like me but he said i shouldn't worry because i seem like a nice person haha so they do have a sense of humor there.will go back for any other piercings i might want it healed quickly and they of cause gave proper instructions :) clean place clean work. TO ALL MOTHERS AND FATHERS OUT THERE! Do not be mislead by the more hardcore look to these shops. This place was by far the most professional and sanitary place. I brought my service dog in training inside and they asked me to take him out just to be extra sure that everything was sanitary. Very professional, very kind, take your children here for piercings! Also, I wanted my piercing redone in a different spot and at no charge they changed it for me. The tattooist nearly misspelled my tattoo. If it wasn't for my friend pointing it out, he would've misspelled "Corinthians", even when I have him the correct was to spell it. When I got a triple forward helix piercing here, the piercer put in curved barbells instead of labrets. The piercings became extremely infected due to their mistake, and I have to go to another piercer to fix them. Read Less

Got my cartilage pierced. 3 days later my ear was so swelled and deformed. Couldn't get the earring out since it was a flat back..so we had to go to the emergency room a 1am to get it removed. The doctor didn't know whether it was infected or whether I had an allergic reaction to the metal.  Either way it was extremely painful and a hassle because I have to take antibiotics for 7 days. Otherwise, it seemed cleaned and the piercer was really friendly! I would just be careful if you have sensitive ears or just in general with getting a piercing done there. Read Less

I had my second tattoo done here. I had previously gone to sanders ink to get a large tattoo on my back and was very pleased with there work. I wanted another tattoo. I had just gone through a very hard experience and wanted a quote that had helped me through. I knew Sanders would have a good 2-3 weak wait. It was a simple tattoo and I wanted it sooner then that. I was with a friend and we called around to a few places to see who was open late. Freak show was open till 12:00 and it was already like 9:30. I asked if they had time to tattoo me they said yes. We drove there and walked in. They said "your with him" (pointed to an older guy sitting in on the couch). The man walked up and asked what I wanted. He seemed a little distant a hard to understand. Maybe even seemed high? I opened my phone to make sure I read the quote word for word. He then mumbled under his breath  "you have too look it up." Then laughed. I felt that was very rude. Yes, if I want a quote on my body for life it better be word for world. Any how, I told him the quote and showed him a font I wanted. He grunted and then walked away to draw my tattoo. He came back. The font was not what I asked but still equally as pretty so I didn't say anything. Then my friend noticed he spelled truly wrong. We pointed it out and he gave us this look like "no it is spelled right" and didn't act like he was going to change it until another artist said we where correct. He put the lay on on my hip and I looked at it in the mirror. I didn't like it as one line. The tattoo Went too far onto my stomach. So I asked him to make it two lines. He huffed and puffed and said "we don't have time for this". Then rubbed the lay on of my hip very hard. He then put it back on as two strips. I liked it then. He pointed at the bed thing and grunted. I laid down and he got started. He didn't say a word the entire time. He was very hard handed tattooing. My first tattoo hurt one tenth that much. I moved a tiny bit a few times when he dug the needle really deep and he would grunt and grab my hip. One of the other workers talked to me and was very nice. Every one else there seemed great! Fun guys. When my artist was done with my tattoo I payed him and he walked away. Another guy came up and went through after care and such. Then I was of. My tattoo did scar pretty bad in two places but still looks nice unless you are really near and can see the glossy scaring. Over all he was a good artist with a piss poor temperament.Later I went in to get my triple forward helix done. HUGE mistake!! Cherish was very nice but my ear was pierced with curved barbells (witch I later learned was a HUGE no no) the balls fell of twice cause they where not screwed on tight enough. Went back in twice. Then I got hypertrophic scarring  from the barbells putting too much pressure on my ear. Ended up going to black atlas to change the jewelry and treat the swelling. Extremely painful! Read Less

The atmosphere is very relaxed, the guys that work there are super laid back and easy to feel comfortable with. I got my first tattoo from Joe, and I won't go anywhere else now. Matt is a piercing WIZARD!  I got three piercings from him, all perfect placement.  I was worried about the pain at first, but he's got madddskillz so none of them (nostril, ear lobe, helix) hurt too badly! (I've gotten other things pierced in the past by different people, it was always a hella painful experience.)  He stands by his work through and through, so if you ever have issues with any of your piercings (e.g. it starts to reject, etc) he'll repierce you for free.  I will definitely come back here for future piercings. This is a fantastic, clean tattoo shop.  They've won many awards for running the best tattoo shop in Fort Collins, and it shows immediately upon walking in.  Large sprawling grafitti covers the wall to the left and very original tattoo designs adorn the entire wall to the right.  i recommend tattoo artist Joe -- My friend Luci has her work done by him, and he's fantastic.  He did three little birds on my foot and they are very meaningful to me.  The jewelry selection is fantastic too -- many original bone, wood and glass pieces.  Prices are great too. I have been to Freakshow many times and have always LOVED the work.  The piercers are very skilled and will make you feel comfortable.  And, they are always offering free piercing deals.  They have a huge selection of jewelry.The tattoo artists are all great.  I have had Logan Nard, and he did an amazing job.  Not only did he understand what  I want, he made it better.  The atmosphere is relaxing and they let you watch whatever movie you want if you have to sit for a while.  I cant say enough good things about this place.  I now live in California, but I won't get tattooed anywhere else.  I will fly back to Colorado to get a tattoo here.
