I went in dead set on what I wanted for my tattoo. I spoke with Mark about having my tattoo done by him cause he was by far my style for a tattoo. This was gonna be my first tattoo and it was going to have a lot of meaning behind it, it was going to be a black and white teddy bear with a daisy with no stem in the background everything was gonna be black and white and the pedals of the daisy were going to be the color orange. The teddy bear that I sent Mark was a specific teddy bear that had a heart in it that I specifically asked not to have in the sketch and in the sketch he put the heart and had the flower going through the arms which was not what I asked for. On top of not getting what I asked for Mark was late on getting my sketch to me I had asked him numerous times for it. When I had confronted him about the changes I requested to be made towards the tattoo he gave me another set date around Monday or a Tuesday that he'll have the sketch to me. I had to call the shop numerous time to speak with Mark about getting the sketch and sent him numerous emails asking when he was going to get it to me. I had already put down a 40$ deposit as well. The whole shop had went to a tattooing convention and then came back still did not get my sketch after that. Finally got an email from Mark saying that he apologized for taking so long that he came down with bronchitis has been so busy and has not had a day off and said that he would like to set up an appointment with me when I still did not have the updated sketch. Finally got in contact with Joel the store owner about wanting a refund he didn't seem to really care all that much about it but said that either him or Mark could get me a refund. All around the experience what horrible Mark didn't seem to really care all that much about the tattoo or even didn't care about doing it period when he knew the meaning this tattoo was suppose to have behind it Read Less

I have been getting worked on by the owner of this shop for about 6 years. He has done some incredible work on me, the stuff of magazines and world renowned artists is the caliber of his work. The owner is an awesome guy that will work his hardest to make your vision come true. The other artists at his shop are always some of the best, its a smaller shop so most dont tend to stick around long but this is absolutely not indicative of the quality of work. My experience with this place was not good. I went there in need of a cover up. I was given a guy named Zack. Besides having to reschedule a few times because he travels a lot, he ended up quitting and tattooing out of his house. Since we already started i had to keep going to him. Joey and Tyler are creative geniuses. Their work is phenominal and is always better than what you had in mind. Also, the pricing is more than reasonable. It's a comfortable atmoshpere and if you're nervous about a tattoo, everyone finds a way to make you feel better. I admit that I am a very difficult client and both have always found a way to work with me. If you are going to get tattooed this is definitely the place to go. First piece in Seattle and later I followed him to Black Atlas Tattoo. Saturation and line work are on point.  Do yourself a favor and set up a session. Great experience! I've had 2 tattoos prior to getting a custom tattoo with Nick. The previous two were with the same artist at another shop in Fort Collins---first was great, second...artist worked with me but always tried to convince me to go bigger or change the location with the end result exceedingly mediocre. This one's for Nick!  I popped my tattoo cherry with him yesterday over conversation about California, Pho and doughnuts.  Nick made my experience one to remember.  Totally chill guy with AMAZING skills and he put me at ease 5000%.  He does exceptional work and I'm blown away at how nice my first piece came out.  I will be returning to him again and again and again!  As for the shop: SO CLEAN.  So easy to find. It has parking.  It's near Old Town.  It's clean and inviting and quirky.  Bright and CLEAN.  Awesome music playing in the background and just an overall good vibe to the entire place.  It may even qualify as a hidden gem since it's tucked away on S. Mason street amongst trendy college-type places to hang; not just a random place with a neon sign calling to people to come in to get cheap flash pieces.  Custom work and Nick is awesome!  Great first experience! I constantly go in to get work done by Katherine not only because she's flexible with her times, her tattoos always come out better than I could've hoped for, but she's also lovely to be around. She takes to a great deal of effort with each tattoo to make sure it's exactly what you want. I love the colors she blends together, every tattoo she's given me is bright and the color is even and saturated. I've also had Matt punch my ears, and exchange out all of my jewelry for some new gems. Matt does an awesome job of keeping the place stocked with a wide selection of beautiful jewelry, makes being in close proximity to you not awkward because of his professionalism, and made one of the more painful piercings I've had a piece of cake. Black atlas is my jam. They have really diverse and amazingly talented artists and I haven't been anywhere since early 2014. I've gotten over six tattoos here and have never left unsatisfied. Every artist has unique style that caters to almost every tattoo idea or concept. Katherine, Joel, and Logan's flash are amazing and I would definitely get tattooed by any of them again.
