This is not a review of a tattoo. We had an appointment at 6:00 PM and drove in from Monument. I spoke with a man on Wednesday and set up appt. He asked me to call if we COULDNT or WOULD NOT be coming in. We have a disabled son that was coming in with us. We arrived early and walked over to the Mercantile. We walked into the shop at 545 and the girl said we didn’t have an appt we only had a walk in and there were three walk ins ahead of us. Why would someone have an appt for a walk in? That makes no sense. She said she tried to call, yet I have no messages. The fact is I had an appointment! So I don’t know anything about the quality of their work. The quality of their business practices however are very dismal. The man I spoke with on Wednesday was very professional and kind. The girl at the counter this evening — not so much. When someone like myself with a PhD makes an appointment, the appointment stays in my book until I hear otherwise. I guess people with less than that don’t understand what it means to make or keep an appointment. I don’t think this woman knows the definition of a walk-in. A walk-in is just that, someone walking in without an appointment. Why would I have made an appt for a “walk-in”??? Geez! Read Less

This is just the worst, i thought i could let it go, but i just cant. i got tattooed by Ben last October and he just ruined my tattoo it is the worst! ! am now having another artist in the springs fix it, Im scarred and it is right were everyone can see it! Im so ashamed of it i cant stand it! it scabbed horribly and when I tried to reach him he just never responded! If I could give 0 stars I would. NeVER GO HERE NO ETHICS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Jim is by far one of the best artists and people I know. He is one of 2 people on the planet that I trust to do my ink. A few months ago I gave him an idea and after drawing on me with a pen for an hour and then 12 or so hours worth of work....We are almost through with my half-sleeve. I go in at least once a month. Wow!!!! What an amazing experience we had tonight at Red Sky Tattoo!!! We came in SUPER last minute as a walk in and Yabuco was more than we could have ever expected. Not only was he efficient and talented, he was funny and personable. We brought our kids in because we were so excited to get tattooed we didn't want to have to find a sitter and he (and all the staff working) was so sweet to them! He even gave my son a "sharpie tattoo"! We will NEVER go anywhere else. He made our tattoos more than ink on our body, they are now an incredible memory. Thanks Red Sky! (Ps! Went in multiple times to have my right arm sleeved. Jimmy the kid was the artist and did an amazing job! I don't believe he works there anymore,  but I know that all of the artists working there are top notch. The place has a good clean, friendly atmosphere. Everyone at Red Sky are absolutely fantastic but Jim is not only an amazing artist, he cares about his customers. I had a previous tattoo done by someone that no longer works there and it didn't turn out great. When Jim saw it, he fixed it for me and it turned out absolutely better than I could have wished for. I've been here countless times, got my first tattoo here when I turned 18 and Ryan did a fantastic job. They're all incredibly talented and I've never had a bad experience. Jim is the owner and he'll do whatever he can to make your service wonderful. His son Skyler was apprenticing under him for a while and I went in to let him get some practice on me, and he did really well! This shop is amazing!!!! Colin has been working on a sleeve on my entire right arm. He has done an awesome job at drawing detail into the piece. It has been 95% free handed! The color is very vibrant and adds a much needed pop to the tattoo. I have had a couple other tattoos done at other shops, and i will never go back to them. Red Sky is the shop for me! Read Less

To the person who posted INFECTED: you probably didnt take care of it right. and there's always a chance for infection. Anyway, I've gotten both of my tattoos done here and I love this shop. Colin did the first one on my calf. Amazing job, nice detailed work. Jimmy the Kid did my second one on my upper arm. Very nice shading and as well very detailed work. I've had no problems with either tattoo, took care of them just as instructed by the artists'. The only con, lol, the waiting list. I believe Colin schedules his appointments about a month in advance. The owner, Jim, has a waiting list out the door, your lucky to get him. But nonethless, worth the wait. Read Less

I got a tattoo here and it was immediately infected. The day after I got the tattoo I went to the doctor and he stated that indeed it was very infected. That something wasn't sterile or the ""artist"", Matt, didn't clean my arm properly. I had to have a shot, lab work drawn to check for infectious diseases and medication for the infection. Matt stated it was an allergic reaction and not an infection, which I found interesting since he didn't look at it, not does he have his degree in medicine. I would absolutely recommend that you go somewhere else for your body art, unless you like that unsanitary kind of thing. Oh, and Matt for some reason abruptly stopped working on the tattoo, so I have to wait for it to heal and go back for it to be finished. He was paid for this. I now will be going somewhere else for it to be finished and paying them. Read Less
