As someone who has gotten multiple tattoos from multiple places, I’d like to give as fair of a review to Claw and Talon as possible. Though there are definitely worse places out there, I could never in good conscience recommend someone to go to Claw and Talon. I made an appointment with Vinny over the phone, and all seemed well at that point. When the day of my appointment came and I went there, he was nowhere to be found. They had to call him, and I had to wait literally almost an hour before he got there. The process of drawing up the tattoo felt a bit rushed. I got the vibe that there was some attitude about even trying to get it right. Remember, I am not a clueless person who asks for absurd tattoos, I am comparing this to other shops, which hopefully make you feel like they are going out of their way to get the tattoo how you want it. When we finally got to the tattoo, and after a little while, another artist began to set up. Because the space is so cramped HE BUMPED INTO ME WHILE I WAS GETTING A TATTOO. This was actually the biggest problem of anything, I was bumped into hard enough to move me, while the needle was going. As everyone knows, that can mess up a tattoo. I’m general though, the thing that bothered me most was the attitude I felt from this place, and more specifically the artist. I even got a lot of attitude at the end when I wanted him to fix something up. I’m surprised there aren’t even more negative reviews mentioning this, because almost everyone I’ve talked to about this place had the same complaint about the artist having attitude. I know a girl that was going in to do a cover-up, and the Vinny gave her so much attitude claiming it was impossible, that she went elsewhere. I’ve seen the finished result, and it is beautiful, and covered up quite nicely. The tattoo itself is not bad, but CERTAINLY not good enough to even come close to making up for these things. The only positive I could find is the place seemed clean enough, and the other employees, such as the receptionist, were nice. But given the hour delay, bump during tattoo, and the giant attitude right from the beginning that very well may have affected the tattoo quality, I can’t recommend it. Unfortunately I can’t recommend another place in Boulder. I have one or two friends that liked Boulder Ink. I know Bound by Design down in Denver is good, I got a tattoo there. Best of luck in your tattoo search, and heed my caution! Read Less
