I decided to try this tattoo shop on Friday the 13th since my normal place didn't celebrate. The first artist to acknowledge me was rude and didn't make me feel like a valued customer. I was placed in his station and he was really rude because he wanted to tattoo his friends instead, so he tossed me aside to another artist even though he was already set up to start my tattoo. I then had to wait another 20 minutes for the new set up to be completed. Then after the horrible experience, a few days after getting the tattoo it got infected which I have never dealt with with any of my 22 tattoos. When I finally spoke with them I was lectured like a child by 3 people and told it was my fault and that he was a "highly professional artist" and that's probably why it healed differently than I'm used to. They didn't even bother to give an aftercare sheet if the process is so much different. They did offer to touch up my tattoo when it heals (after taking antibiotics) but I will never let them touch me again. The infection was so bad I couldn't even walk on my leg without it feeling like my leg would rip open. Horrible service and I would never recommend anyone go there!

TJ Hill is amazing and did the work on my left arm (black and grey wolf and arrow). He was very professional and when I told him how much I had he readjusted the drawing to fit my budget and even stayed with me until 1:45am getting the tattoo done. I would highly recommend him!

I literally went in here to ask how much my tattoo would cost and to maybe get an idea of what size I wanted and they basically forced me into filling out paperwork and getting the tattoo with no draw-up of it at all. I got so freaked out I left. They were nice people but didn't discuss my tattoo hardly at all and then started setting up everything for it immediately. And they were playing horrifying music in there, it was like semi-religious hardcore rap with dub step mixed in. Doesn't help with nerves.

I am a repeat client of Meredith's and I came in to get pierced by her again because she was always kind and did a really good job and explained the process very thoroughly, something other piercers I have gone to never did, but when I came in to get pierced by her again a little bit ago I was "greeted" rudely by the staff and told she no longer worked there and they refused to tell me any information about where she had gone. They attempted to get me to be pierced by the current piercer, but he was very mean and tried to charge me MUCH more than the rates that were in place when Meredith was there. I refused to be pierced by him and immediately left. I ran into Meredith at Sephora the other day and she was very nice to me and gave me her instagram and direct contact information and I am for sure following her to her new shop. As of current, I do not recommend Blue Rose anymore and I will not be coming back because she is not there anymore. They certainly made it clear they did not want or need my business. No thanks, Blue Rose.

I had the most terrible experience here. One artist made vulgar comments and jokes that were uncomfortable to hear (especially as a woman). He refused to do the tattoo I wanted on my arm because it "wasn't his style" and I heard him tell his co-worker it wasn't something he'd do so "you can just do it instead I know you'll do it". The other artist tried to charge me a ridiculous amount for a 2 line quote in a simple font and when I said I would have to wait a week to afford it he said "well I'm ____ and if you see my profile you'll see why I'm worth the money " in a conceited tone. Not worth waiting for a tattoo from rude people. You may be talented but no one will remember that if you're mean. That's what I get for trying to reach out to new shops. I will stick to As You Like It, they are affordable, kind, and talented beyond compare. Kindness goes a long way.

Do NOT go here. Me and 2 friends went to get a tattoo retouched and they claimed that because the original artists no longer work there they would have to charge us a fee to retouch them. Also they claimed the policy is 90 days for free retouching when we SPECIFICALLY chose the place because we were guaranteed a year for retouching it has been about 5- 6 months since we had gotten them.Poor business practice and customer relations we will never be back and would recommend friends and everyone else against this place specifically.Will be reporting them to the Boulder Better Business Bureau as well. Because we signed a contract and they have contractual legal obligations.

PAT is the Man! I walked into Blue Rose on a whim and I left with what I consider to be my best tattoo. But the artwork isn't all that was great. The entire process was the most pleasurable tattooing experience I've had. The moment I walked in Pat sat me down and started picking my brain to make sure he understood exactly what I had in mind(A Tomahawk on my shoulder). We went through hundreds of pictures of both drawn and real tomahawks. Once we had settled on about 5 pictures I pointed out the specific characteristics on each one that I liked . Pat took notes and told me to come back the next day. I walked into the shop and was amazed by the drawing he had come up with. Pat was able to incorporate everything I asked, and it looked better than I pictured..... So 5 hours of tattooing later I got out of the chair and there is only one word I could think of IMPRESSED! thanks for the awesome artwork and chill vibes Blue Rose!

This is very unfortunate. We went in yesterday to discuss a design for an appointment today. Took the time out of our vacation to send the artist, Jam, a design and we did. Our appointment was for 1pm today and we arrive a few minutes early but by 1:15 nobody was there. There was a sign on the door to be back at 2 so we came back at 2. We waited until 2:20 and nobody showed up. We are on vacation and this was suppose to be a gift for our father hence waiting until vacation to do so. I have 8 tattoos myself from 5 different artists and not a single one was this unprofessional, skipping out on an appointment. My email even had my number in it so she could have called to cancel and we could have figured something out. Now we go home disappointed and waiting until the next time we are all together. Thanks for nothing Blue Rose.

I went here about a week ago to get a piercing. When I walked in the guy that did my piercing started to flirt and i didn't say much but smile; I'm very awkward when guys flirt with me. But then he wanted me to left up my shirt I swear every guy was in there "checking" on my piercing. I felt so awkward but that wasn't the worst. He text me from the number I wrote on the information form. When he text me he asked for a picture of the piercing which I was fine with sending but then he started getting creepy. I love this place and any girl here should never feel weird or comfortable but please ask or call ahead for the girl who pierced me. She is amazing and did my nips for me. I love them and I didn't feel weird at all with my shirt off with her. I felt weird having my shirt half off, only up past my hips, with the guy that did my piercing. So please call ahead. Don't judge this place because of him. I will be back but only for the girl to do my piercings.

I would not recommend this business. Christian did my tattoo and he was very rushed and irritable. I wasn't happy with the placement of his first stenciling and asked him to re-position it. He made a bunch of remarks about how picky I was being.On top of this, he rushed through the tattoo. It has been 3 months. The tattoo has healed raised and feels scabbed over-- scar tissue surrounds. The line is blurry. Mind you the tattoo is an outline of crescent moon no bigger than a silver dollar. Very simple. And I even paid the 60 minimum + 20 tip. Overpriced, little attention to detail and overall a negative experience with Christian.

I went to a few local shops to see which one I liked best to get a tattoo I've been wanting for over a year now. I ended up choosing Blue Rose. The environment was cool and friendly, Violetta and Jam were very helpful from the start. Violetta was my artist. The prices are very fair, and even though the tattoo took longer than she thought, she still only charged me for an hour.
Violetta did an amazing job and got every detail down perfectly. The tattoo is exactly how I envisioned it, and I wouldn't change a single thing about it. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get some ink! Thanks guys, I will most definitely be back!

I would not recommend this business. Christian did my tattoo and he was very rushed and irritable. I wasn't happy with the placement of his first stenciling and asked him to re-position it. He made a bunch of remarks about how picky I was being.On top of this, he rushed through the tattoo. It has been 3 months. The tattoo has healed raised and feels scabbed over-- scar tissue surrounds. The line is blurry. Mind you the tattoo is an outline of crescent moon no bigger than a silver dollar. Very simple. And I even paid the 60 minimum + 20 tip. Overpriced, little attention to detail and overall a negative experience with Christian.

Violet just did the tattoo on my ribs. She was amazing and the tattoo turned out awesome. I'd highly recommend her and the blue rose tattoo shop.

I went to a few local shops to see which one I liked best to get a tattoo I've been wanting for over a year now. I ended up choosing Blue Rose. The environment was cool and friendly, Violetta and Jam were very helpful from the start. Violetta was my artist. The prices are very fair, and even though the tattoo took longer than she thought, she still only charged me for an hour.
Violetta did an amazing job and got every detail down perfectly. The tattoo is exactly how I envisioned it, and I wouldn't change a single thing about it. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get some ink! Thanks guys, I will most definitely be back!

Our sixth annual brothers weekend was in Boulder and we finally got the courage to get a tattoo that we'd talked about getting for years. Christian was super nice and did great tattoo work on my brothers and me - we each got a black Roman Numeral V on our right arms. I also got a touch up of the line work on my Celtic cross. If I lived here I'd be back.
