You will never run into someone with the same mark. You will never see "flash" on the walls. In true Surfbilly style, our tattoo shop offers a unique fusion of creativity and precision. The studio is high-class, yet approachable. We aim to be the friendliest tattoo shop in the state. We pour our hearts into our art, and we are sure you will feel that as soon as you walk through the doors. Just look for the big blue octopus on the window -- and on our famous VW Bus.

I wanted a lion on my hand and I was told to think about it for a week before committing to it which I really respect and appreciate that he had thought about my well-being which I don't think any other tattoo artist I have ever met would have done. I decided to go forward and I have the most incredible tattoo I have ever gotten. I have no regrets nor will I ever. It is so unique and well done I could not be happier.

He was extremely professional in a laid back kinda way. He does only custom work. He took a few ideas my son had and created a one of a kind piece for him. He took the time to explain everything to my son as it was his 1st tattoo. His hrly rate is reasonable. Quality is exceptional.

Came to JD with my mom for her very first tattoo ever and he did everything in his power to make sure she was well informed and comfortable with the whole process. Since then my husband and I won't go to anyone else in Colorado! He's done some incredible work for us and is really one of the best people to just hang out around too! He is an excellent and honest artist and I'm so glad we found him!!!

I am 55 and went to JD for a really small but meaningful tattoo. It is my first (likely only) tattoo. I was nervous and self conscious. I was afraid the size, lack of complexity and my age would have a tattoo artist rolling his eyes. JD was so kind, welcoming and easy to talk to. If I ever get another tattoo, I will go back to JD! I love my little tattoo.

Second time I have tried to give a local company my business and the have not been open during regular business hours. Left message and got a text back " who is this can't talk right now". Why post hours if you are not going to uphold them? If anyone else ran a company like this they would not have a buisness. I would not recommend them to any one!

I've had JD tattoo me twice. Both small, but in a very visible spot on my body, the back of my neck. The tattoos are for my husband to honor the love and commitment we have for each other and are very meaningful for me. JD did an amazing job with both. Not only do the tattoos look great, and continue to look great after several years, but JD was lovely to work with as well; sweet natured and gentlemanly, a true professional. A very pleasurable experience overall.
