SAY NO TO CHEAP PIERCINGS!!!Honestly, I hate giving bad reviews but if it's for my health's sake I have no hesitation.I came into the shop on a whim to get my navel pierced. I can't remember who was my piercer but he was incredibly calm and nice which was great! I had forgotten my ID and he said not to worry. I did think that it was oddly too convenient that he didn't ask for any ID nor did I sign any paperwork. He measured my belly button and marked it to make sure it was straight. I honestly don't remember if he put the belly ring I chose into an autoclave to sanitize the jewelry but I was just hyped to get my navel done again. Initially it was really cute but within a matter of days, the swelling was so painful I couldn't sleep. I literally felt such a tight sensation around my piercing and it was EXTREMELY snug. It was oozing pus, smelled foul, and you guessed it: it was infected. It was also way too shallow for my body. The jewelry that they use is externally threaded, which is basically like putting a screw through your body. The ring that was not only externally threaded, but gave me a horrible allergic reaction AND infection that drove me straight to urgent care. I went to another reputable shop and they examined my navel, and they said that the piercer did not do it correctly. Took my goddaughter here for a second ear piercing on Sunday, they were great! And VERY reasonably priced.  $30 for the piercing plus we added gratuity. The only downside, they only take cash but they do have an ATM onsite! We had Frankie and he did a great job - we were in and out in a flash! I got a tongue web piercing here for $50 (cash only) about 1.5 weeks ago. My piercing looks happy and healed! I was a walk-in and done in 10 minutes. The piercing didn't hurt and the piercer was gentle. The only reason I'd give 4 stars is that the piercer was unfriendly. He was very serious and monotone, but I appreciated his calmness and professionalism. We didn't exchange names. Also, someone was vaping medium sized clouds inside the store- shouldn't be too big of a sanitary issue but still should not happen inside a piercing shop. MEGAN is a DOLL!! I was referred here by a friend to re-open my lip piercings that closed after 8 hours. I messaged Megan and inquired mostly about getting them repierced. She informed me that I should come in right away to re-open my blunder. I went in first thing when they opened and she sat me down and sterilized my own jewelry and was professional and sweet. I've always gone to sick dogs for all my piercings over the years (only parts on my ear) and recently about two months ago i went in to get tattooed with my friend before I left the area for school. I was tattooed by Ziggy, someone i always saw in the shop. During the tattoo I didn't feel uncomfortable, i had it placed on my low hip by my butt so I expected him to be professional which it seemed he did. However, after I left he sent me a text on my personal number saying "you know i'm not technically your boyfriend either, why don't we have a little going away party at my place tonight?"The text made me so uncomfortable knowing that he had just tattooed me earlier in a more private spot. Getting that text made me never want to go back because it was so unprofessional of him. My friend and I went back today to get pierced by Frankie , whom we have always trusted (although i've read some other reviews that say otherwise and now i'm thinking this whole shop is full of creeps) but Megan, the other piercer was busy in her corner helping other guests. It was taking a while so my friend went through the private section just to ask how long it would be and she responded by saying that she was "in the middle of fucking piercing someone" and that "you can't fucking come back here." She was extremely rude to my friend. It was a private section so we understand where we went wrong by crossing the line but, she could've been much more nice about it and just answered our question. After my friend walked away she said again very loudly "DONT COME BACK HERE." Like we get it lol After this second encounter with bad customer service and people being straight up impolite and rude, we won't be coming back and i hope you read this and do the same. I've always trusted this shop until we've become the people on the other side seeing who REALLY works in this shop and we don't support it at all. Frankie, the owner, kept sexually harassing me by telling me to take off my top while I was getting tattooed by an apprentice. The apprentice did a fantastic job but because she told Frankie to stop disrespecting her client, which he denied he was doing, she was let go. Frankie then said that I was too sensitive to be in a tattoo shop because that is how tattoo shops function but I have been to many shops before and have NEVER had anyone, let alone the owner, make these comments to me. Called in around 5 pm and they were available to take me in! Megan was my artist. First time getting a piercing with a needle. Megan talked me thru it. Allowed me to breathe it out and forewarned me before she pierced my skin. She gave me instructions such as taking ibuprofen for the pain, warmed me that it may crust over a bit and may have some sweeping post piercing. All the information was noted and greatly appreciated. She advised that I call their shop if I had any questions at all. I actually got a Groupon and per Megan, they only accept it when franky, the owners? Manager? Is there. This place has THE worst service on earthTo begin, I found a groupon for this place a few months back during September and bought this voucher that is set to expire in little over a week. The groupon simply states that it is a $100 voucher to use for piercingsI find them on yelp, great reviews everything is sanitary and the people seem nice. I call a few times clarifying on prices and privacy. Their website obviously does not seem to be working so every time I want a price on specific piercings I have manually call and figure out what I want. O.K. Fine, tedious but fine. Then I call to check if i need to set appointments and to see if this yelp deal is ending anytime soon(I even asked if it will be going on until winter and Christmas time because I am a student and my winter break is long and I wanted ample time to heal because thats what you do right?). I decide to call and see if they have a female piercer because based off of yelp they do. I wanted a female because of religious preferences. Would rather to have a female do my ears, it is a simple request. They give me the days she is in and i set myself up and ready to go. My little sisters hear that I want to get piercings done so I plan to bring them as well.This was all in September, I was excited and raving to go, finally winter rolls by. I set a date with my friends and when I get there I find that it is cash only (not specified or mentioned once in any of my millions of calls), children are only done by the owner (again not mentioned once), the female piercer does not accept groupons(again never mentioned) and so I agree to this, again tedious.I ask for when the owners in, I make a time and date to go in the week following. I walk in and upon waiting fifteen minutes the owner finally sees us and I mention the Groupon. Then he proceeds to tell me he doesn't accept the Groupon.At this point I'm at my limit, I say nothing, smile and leave.when I decide to actually complain this is the answer I get.I call and ask simply for the owner I tell him my issue with a stern voice and nothing disrespectful and about mid-way he tries to interrupt and when I fail to let him he decides it's high tide to hang up...in my face...?? I don't see why that's professional and I call back and ask if he hung up on my face not only does he admit it but then he decides to sit there and lecture me on how all of this is my fault and that he can give me so and so deal.I decide that I'm giving up and not doing business with this shop ever, I have never EVER have felt this disrespected in my life. I came in a month ago to get my nipples pierced. I was nervous because I had them pierced years ago (somewhere else where I probably overpaid) so the thought of scar tissue pain was not something I was looking forward to experiencing. Frankie immediate welcomed me and asked want I was interested in getting that day. I told him and mentioned the BOGO special they have so it was only $40 for both nipples and the standard surgical steel jewelry. The store is very clean, and I used the bathroom and it was cleaner than my own bathroom at home. Frankie is a very calm and kind person so it made me feel less nervous. He marked me up, was kind enough to distract me with small talk, and it was over before I knew it. I waited to leave this review in case I had any issues, but they're healing up nicely and I have no complaints. I also want to mention I went back two weeks ago to ask him about getting four piercings in my ear (I ordered letter studs) and he took time to talk to me about placement and also recommended I wear surgical steel studs when I first get pierced.  I ended up not getting those piercings because when the jewelry arrived from China, they weren't like the picture on Etsy (online shopping is so hit or miss amirite!?). I came here with my friend on impulse, and I ended up leaving with a really cool daith piercing, and my friend with a navel piercing. So i went here bc my friends reccomended me this place for peircings. I usually get my peircings done in SLO but i gave this a chance since some of my friends come to this place. So (i dont remember his name) took us in and asked us what we wanted. My friend only wanted to get her doubles on her earlobe. The way he did it was very strange in my opinion. He jammed her ear with a really long needle which i felt was unnecessarily long. But anyways, it bled ALOT. at my usual peircing place, ive never seen anyone bleed from a peircing, especially at the ear lobe. Anyways, i was a bit sus but i was alrdy there and i wanted my peircings. So i asked for 3 peircings on my right ear and I asked for them to be relatively close to each other. He marked the spots to see if i liked it and i said yeah i did. Not only did it hurt like a bih, it bled ALOT. It was very gory for about 5 mins. Here's the worst part, he jammed my ear 4 times bc he messed up on one of the peircings. Not only did it hurt to be peirced 4 times, it hurt even more since he removed it and placed it right next to it.Idk in general this wasnt worth it. I honestly wished i went to my usual guy in SLO bc they seem like they care more. This place they dont rlly talk to you to calm your nerves. I kept repeating that i was nervous and he kinda just eh, didn't care. I've been wanting to get my cartilage pierced. Went to a location in Newport/Costa Mesa and was quoted $160 for 3 piercings. Too pricey! A friend recommended this place and they have a bogo deal for piercings! I got all 4 done for $60 plus tip. What a deal! Tip: cash only!The location is hidden in a small plaza behind an el pollo loco. Don't let the exterior fool you, the inside was very big and clean. Frankie did my piercing and made the process very easy. He's been here for 24 years and is very experience. I liked that he changed his gloves every time he touched something else that was not my ear to prevent infections and went through at least 10 pairs as he switched clamps and needles, picked up different earrings, etc. He even told me to stop by any time after so they can check and make sure the piercing is healing properly. They pierce with needle here and is definitely less painful than a gun where it jams the jewelry in you. Long story short. Awesome prices, friendly service, and very clean. I've been ink'd & pierced here SEVERAL times. I've taken friends in to be ink'd here. I've even taken my lovely daughter, Erica, for her FIRST-EVER piercing, and then, a year later, her FIRST-EVER inking. The owner Frank & his staff IMMEDIATELY made my daughter feel as if she was the most important person in their shop. Frank ALWAYS remembers us and greets us with a sincere welcome hug every time. He made an impression on Erica because when we walked into his shop, he got up and said "Hey Spider!! Good to see you, Brother!" and made me feel like a million bucks in front of my daughter. In regards to the way Frank & his staff talk about God & spirituality, GET OVER IT or just CHANGE THE SUBJECT! I don't want to talk about drugs, crime, prison, etc. If I don't want to talk about God, I bring up family or motorcycles or Sheldon on the "Big Bang Theory" and we talk about that. Besides, on the couple of occasions that I happened to walk in with my daughter, I was thankful that I KNEW FOR SURE that they were not going to be anything other than professional! And they have ALWAYS put professionalism in the results of their work. The shop is bright and clean and immaculate. You can "feel' how sterile the place is. When I was associated with a local Motorcycle CIub, and we would hold an annual charitable event, raising money for women getting clean & sober, Sick Dog's NEVER FAILED to produced a few hundred dollars worth of gift certificates for us to put on our raffle table. Well I like my tattoo, considering I designed it myself, and the guy only scanned it onto photoshop and traced it onto my body. The main thing I disliked washow this guy quoted me $150/hr, telling me it would take only 40mins and he would prorate the hour. Then a week later right before I went under the needle and paid, it suddenly was about to take 2 hours and it was going to cost $300, plus a decent tip. It was not my first tattoo, but it was my largest piece yet, and I nearly ended up fainting about 20 minutes into it--I dont know if it was from the pain or what. Another reason why I did not like the artist is because he was so nosey about my life, my religion, and my personal views. I mean who really asks if I go to church or not while I'm sitting there getting a tattoo??? And then while I can't leave, I have to sit there and endure double the pain and listen to YOUR views on religion and politics!!! Oh my GOD!!!
