Tried this place out for the first time today and I wasn't disappointed. My artist was Johnny and he was super chill, laid back and very knowledgeable. The tattoo I requested came out PERFECT!!! Unfortunately there is no professionalism or follow through on calls or text from the Owner. I waited a long time to write this review because i was giving the owner a chance to respond. I have been communicating with the Obie for 13 months for a touch up on a tattoo he did for me. We agreed on price and he gave me an appointment but never showed up to perform the work. The staff called him and Obie said he forgot about our appointment. I texted him again to make an appointment but he was at a family graduation.  Third time is a charm so I sent Obie another text and asked if we was up to do the work and he said yes then proceeded to ask if I lived in Escondido...my response was no I'm Vista and the only response I received back was "oh I see". Not sure what that meant but the message was pretty clear at that point:-( Based on the unprofessionalism of this shop and the owner I would never recommend anyone to this shop. Read Less

He's dedicated and capable of many styles.  In just "1.5" sessions, or around 5 hours, he finished her calf tattoo.  He didn't bruise her, and he is patient with people who have sensitive skin.  We'll be visiting more often. walk in & no one acknowledged me. I understand you're busy doing a tattoo but a nice "We'll be right with you" would have helped. I know they saw me because every person getting a tattoo had their door open. I left & went to Black Filigree Tattoo. They have better customer service. Read Less

This place is awesome. I have been to a handful of local tattoo shops for piercings and tattoos. I have to say that this shop however was filled with the most friendly staff that I have come across. Was instantly greeted, asked what I was looking for, let me look through portfolios. Went through many images to get exactly what I was looking for. My artist was Johnny, who really made sure I was happy with every part of my tattoo and had told me he had been doing this over ten years. The prices were also very reasonable as well. My tattoo took about 3 hours once I got started and I got a 20-30 min break in between. What can be said about Vista Body Art other than this is a top notch Place. Extremely clean and stocked full of very very talented artist. I met Joelee and Gabe while riding their Motor Cycles and Joelee gave me his card.  I had had an Idea for a new tattoo but could not find an artist talented enough to make it the way I wanted it or if they were they wanted me to Pawn my first born to pay for it. Long story short, I went in and gave Joelee the graphic I wanted. He drew it out, and 4 hours later I had my perfectly done Tattoo and a very reasonable price. I got a simple tattoo, I had went to a different tattoo parlor before coming to this one and the vibes from this place is awesome!! I had gone to Black Filigree Tattoo but I don't know why they didn't want to give me the tattoo behind my ear? And when I walked in I felt weird, everyone was just staring at me, no idea why. I just felt super uncomfortable and so did my boyfriend so we just left and came to Vista Body Art and they are just so mellow, everyone smiled at me when I walked in! My husband and his friends had mentioned about a guy named Joelee. The work that I did see that Joelee did was clean and looked good. Anyways, I have a few pieces done by him and I love em. I already made it clear I'll probably only be getting work done by him. I've had another artist before scar the shit out of me and another break multiple needles on me.. And another artist just totally jack up my tattoo. I don't have that issue with Joelee. The shop is clean and prices are reasonable. The people that work here are friendly. Read Less
