My helix had partially closed after trying to swap out my earrings. My ear was bloody and gross and I was in pain so I decided to get help from a professional. Went in because my nose ring closed up when I tried to switch piercings. I didn't have to wait long at all. There was one person ahead of me. Ricky was super nice and as gentle as he could be with my situation. I got this awesome tattoo from Natia on Friday night! I've wanted this tattoo since middle school and she nailed the execution of it! I would 10000x recommend going to her. Went in to get a nose stud and had to wait on someone who wasn't even in line. The piercer is soo unprofessional and rude. He changed his prices 3 times saying the stud was $25 then said it was $20 then said it was $10 then his manger came out and said that it was $10 but $10 more if they wanted him to put it back in because if I did it myself I didn't have a guarantee on the stud. So I said whatever, I'll do the $20 so he could put it in. Then he said no it's $30 if you want us to put it in. I said no I'll just take the piercing. So he said ok it's already bent and ready for you. Already annoyed at this point was just gonna take it and leave. So he comes out with a hook instead of an L shape. He said "oh you wanted an L ya I guess I could do it" this took way too long so I got tired of waiting and left. Been to many tattoo joints and had lots of work done. But this is by far the cleanest, professional, welcoming parlor i've been to. Staff was polite, and courteous and did not push myself or my wife to make any type of decisions in regards to what we wanted to get. Unlike most tattoo parlors theres always foul language and  lewd, vulgar and offensive artwork  and behavior all over the place but not here. "Yeah i get it, its a tattoo shop and thats usually expected" but not when your a business that involves permanently marking someone. Our tattoos came out exactly the way we wanted and will definitely recommend to others. My brother has gotten 2 tattoos here and I was present for both. The second time, he, our sister and I got a sibling tattoo. These guys are fantastic, entertaining, make you feel comfortable and are VERY clean!! I'm a heart tx recipient so I have to be extremely careful with shops but watching them set up for my brother's second tattoo (his first here in SoCal) as well as my sisters VERY FIRST and my 12th... This is the second time I have been to this location, and my second tattoo with Cameron, who is not only an incredibly skilled artist, but he is also very honest and fair when it comes to his prices. His coverup work, even when it comes to some of the most difficult to cover pieces, is unparalleled in my experience. The staff at Frontline Tattoo are all also all incredibly nice, courteous, and professional. I love this place!If you need to work on a tight budget, they are great about doing as much work as they possibly can for the amount that you have within your budget to spend, and then having you come back and get more work done as your budget allows for it. They are hands-down my favorite tattoo shop in Oceanside, and in all of North County!Cameron will not rush through any of his work, either. He will collaborate with you on whatever design you bring to him, and will also help you choose something that is within the scope of the idea you may have for the tattoo that you want, if you're undecided. His use of color, contrast, shading, and lines is profound, and he takes great pride in the product that he delivers...because as he says, "You're going to be wearing this on your body for the rest of your life."Cameron has done a full leg piece tattoo...a beautiful peacock that I have had numerous compliments on, and we are currently working together on a half-sleeve size (not wraparound though) tattoo on my left arm, to cover an old tattoo I regretted getting 20 years ago. He is a remarkable talent, and I can't wait to finish our latest collaborative piece of work!The other artists at Frontline are just as skilled, and if they're not the best for the job you're looking for, they have no problem referring you to the artist who is...which I find refreshing - it's hard to find decent tattoo shops staffed by people of such impeccable integrity. These people were so rude. I would expect to be treated this way at the DMV not at a tattoo shop. I've gotten plenty of tattoos and been to a million places with friends; I know what kind of atmosphere to expect but this was ridiculous. Don't go here. In response to the owner. Had a consult scheduled for noon today with Paul. I needed a touch up/rework on a tattoo I got about 5 years ago. Everything I was hoping that could be done was exactly what Paul suggested. He said it needed to be re-lined and the color touched up. Luckily he was able to do it right then. I am beyond happy with my finished product and love my tattoo more than I have in a while!  $120 for the amount of detail he had to go over is beyond reasonable and I would happily pay it again. Very professional. I walked in about 2 weeks ago and was set up with a stencil and an appointment for the next day within minutes. I even got a confirmation call the next morning which was cool cuz I was out running errands with my kids. Doug Owen did a really clean/ fairly big tattoo( a lot of ink) for a very reasonable price. It's always nice when a tattoo artist takes the time and pays attention to detail- I know the difference because I've been getting ink since I was young both professional and "unprofessional". This is not somewhere I would ever recommend. For my daughters 18th birthday she wanted to exert her independence and get a tattoo - shame there is no business etiquette at this establishment and her artist was no better than a common thief who took advantage of her youth and inexperience. She put down the $50 deposit and explained exactly what she wanted during her consultation. However,- they did NOT apply the deposit to the price of the tattoo (this is not a common practice)- they did NOT give her a price until after the work was done- they did NOT even do everything she discussed during the consult and he said sorry I forgot- they did NOT give her any instructions for taking care of her new tattoo$350 for less than an hours worth of work and my poor native daughter didn't know she was being completely taken and actually gave the opportunist thief a tip... almost $400 and a few tattoo estimates later I am absolutely disgusted and my daughter feels like a complete fool and more of a child than when she went in there. As a business owner it is more than disheartening that this place would allow these type of business practices in their establishment, most disappointing. Would not EVER recommend. Read Less

I had had an idea for a tattoo I wanted to get for a while, and finally decided to get a consultation at Frontline from the recommendation of a friend. I originally went to the Oceanside location and met with an artist who listened to what I had in mind and gave his recommendations. However, we could not agree on the final product - he felt it couldn't be done the way I wanted it, and I, as a woman, just had to have it my way :)I was then referred to Julie over at the Vista location. The feminist side of me said, "Hell yeah, lady artist!" She also took all of my ideas into account and confirmed she could produce the small, delicate piece I was looking for. I came back later that evening to see her, and we chatted a bit more and she worked with me, patiently adjusting her stencil (3 times) before getting to work.Julie was friendly and we kept up a comfortable conversation the entire time. Seriously, she's just a rad, down-to-earth chick. I appreciated that she took the time to make sure everything looked just how I wanted it to.
