Rod the owner is a dark skinned Hispanic guy who is literally the most racist person I ever met. I wasn't feeling the vibe to much but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just needed a quick touch up on a previous tattoo I had gotten done at another location. We agreed on a price. Before we started I asked if I could use the bathroom and he said it was in back down the hall. I got down the hallway and there were two doors. I opened the door and I was suddenly in somebody's room it was horrifing. There was fast food bags everywhere and dirty clothes on the floor not to mention a pet lizard on a dirty bed just chilling there. I was disgusted and closed the door then the owner Rod started accusing me of sneaking around his shop. I told him the truth I opened the wrong door but that I didn't want to go through with the tattoo. He told me to leave and that he wasn't gonna give me the tattoo anyways. One star is being very, very generous. I can't speak for the tattoos that come out of there, but my daughter and I went to get our noses pierced and let me tell you it was a bad experience. We went about 6 weeks ago and we both had to take out the piercing. First of all Rod, the supposed piercer, seems like he kind of knows what he's doing, but the more we went on, the less and less it seemed like he knew what he was doing. He marked the spot he was going to Pierce on my daughter, but then when he pierced he nose he went even lower than she asked. Then when he did mine apparently I gave off some vibe that told him it was ok to start talking about gay people and black people is a super negative way, which is so NOT OK with me. So yeah, I'm not easily offended but he definitely crossed that line for me. Then to top it all off, his aftercare instructions were simply "just soak your piercing in the brown mouthwash 3 times a day for a week or two"... that was it.. and he said we could change our jewelry to hoops after two weeks... ummm yeah, no. So all in all, this Rod guy was incredibly offensive and I would NEVER get another piercing from him. We are actually about to hit up Tattoo Image to get our noses re pierced. I have gotten my nose, belly piercings and first tattoo here! Seriously amazing. For my tattoo I showed him a picture of what I loosely wanted and he free handed it, even better! The lines and shading were beautiful. I thought the brown listerine was weird the first time I came but both my piercings healed so fast and so nicely, as did my tattoo. *Re-piercing nose review*Walked into the shop and the owner (Rod) seemed cool but a tad blunt. Asked for ID, what I wanted and then stated to wait behind the gate until he got the equipment ready (he mentioned it was due to health regulations). Before piercing: he asked me to clean the nostril I wanted pierced with brown listerine (first I had heard of this) then set me up in the room. Piercing process was clean, easy and simple (previously had a nose piercing years ago and he pierced the exact same spot). After piercing: he went over after care instructions and advised me to continue using the brown listerine. Rating 3 instead of 4 stars because I had to go get cash since ATM/credit card wasn't working and jewelry selection was limited.  All in all, my experience was rather pleasant, Rod was a pleasure to chat with and the price was beyond reasonable ($20). Interested to see how the piercing will heal with the brown listerine vs. the usual saline solution. Read Less

He was extremely careful with making sure the line was perfectly straight, he did a great job, and i have ever intention on having him do mine in a few months after i get rid of the scar from the screw up job the last person did.Read Less

Horrible experience with the owner himself. I went with my cousin because she wanted to get her nipples pierced and right when we went inside I knew it was going to be a bad experience.bThe place was not air conditioned and we were waiting for a long time to get seen even though, mind you, he did not have any customers.First he did my cousins nipple piercing and this process took really long. His hands were shaky, he was sweating profusely, and he talks way to damn much. Before he did the piercings he knocked down the equipment... Like are you on drugs!?Seeing all this, my dumb ass decided to get my nose pierced and the process was fairly quick. He kept talking about brown listerine and how it cleans piercings. I followed his instructions and my piercing got infected. I paid $20 which is a fair price, that's the only positive thing about this shop.Never again will I return to this place I will be going further down 7th street to Tattoo Image. Read Less

I have many tattoos all done by Rod "Dr.Ink". The first tattoo i recieved was in 1996 and then 10 after that through out these years. Until this day the color is bright and the art is so clear!!I'm always getting compliments on his art. I love it and wouldn't even think of anyone else pocking me. I went in with a couple of friends to get our septums pierced and it was a great experience! The piercer (I forgot to get her name) was very knowledgeable and patient. My friend and I called in advance on a Sunday afternoon to ask about pricing for two belly piercings for my bff and I. From the moment we got on the phone with Rod he seemed really easy going, he took us in right away. Once we arrived the place seemed kinda sketchy because the sign says Dr. Ink tattoo shop not "voodoo lounge" but if you look closely then it says it in tiny letters.. you have to walk through a door then walk upstairs. The shop is neat and clean kinda scary if you go alone but Rod makes you feel comfy. We got two belly piercings for $40. Not happy with this shop at all. Rob is not a professional artist. I went in and talk to him. He agreed on a price. Then he told me to come back the next day at 11 and he would do it then. I went back the next day and he never showed. I waited an hour. He never called or nothing. Then three days later i finally get ahold of him and say that the price he agreed to was not good enough and that he wanted more money. DONT GO TO HIM.
