Buena tattoo club is the best tattoo parlor ran by dedicated, professional and talented artist. I went in today for 3 cover ups and walked out with completely different tattoos. I recently went in to Buena Tattoo Club and was tattooed by Jason Topliss. We originally went in for a piercing, but Jason's personality made us want to get a spur of the moment tattoo! He was very respectful to us and really funny! I appreciated that he warned me before doing any of the painful part of the tattoo and he even drew the tattoo himself to make it unique to me! Came here last night for Friday the 13th - $13 tattoos! We were helped by Luis and Austin - both of them were amazing! We were actually the last customers (at about 3 in the morning no less), but both artists did an amazing job. Rather than hurrying us out, Austin added extra shading to my boyfriend's tattoo to make it look even more amazing! Joker charges good prices but he doesn't seem to charge enough to do the work with a good attitude. My tattoo doesn't look finished. I made an appointment to go to another shop because I am going to get an artistic tattoo done, not nagging when I say what I want done on my skin. Joker said that he was going to make the tattoo look like the picture that I provided of the tattoo and when he did it, where it should of looked like flames, it looked like a tooth (like a mole). Plus I paid for a finished tattoo but got nagging after I told him what I wanted. Ok, so I've been wanting a tattoo for a long time and, based on some of his work I've seen on others around town, have been following Austin Ringo for about 6 months on IG, along with many other artists that are local too. I finally pulled the trigger and decided to have it done by Austin. I sent him a picture not only of the piece I wanted, but also where I would like it done. I asked for his advice and to tweak the design to however he felt. So, it's my FIRST tattoo and where do I decide I want this piece of art to be? Of COURSE on one of the most sensitive places...the inner side of my foot and ankle!  But I wanted it to be seen, yet not too obvious showing due to the nature of my position at work. I took 800 mgs of Ibuprofen AND shotgunned a few glasses of very nice wine to 'dull' the pain. But can I tell you...DON'T bother. Sure, drink the wine, but the painkiller really didn't diminish the pain. Was it painful? Ummmm....YES. But was it bearable? Well, with Austin it was.He didn't do any long 'runs' of inking. In other words, he did just enough then would stop then start up again, giving me enough time to steel myself for the next round. My foot jerked a bit when he would start on an area that was 'new', but he was so understanding and said he was used to the involuntary jerking. Even during the outline phase, he was so steady through my foot spasms. Austin is friendly, putting you at ease, and is super low key, yet can hang and talk with you the entire time....or not. Sometimes I was chatty Patty, sometimes I was silent....taking deep breaths like I was giving birth again. He checked on me often to see how I was hanging. I was fine and knew I'd make it through the ordeal. Put it this way....I passed kidney stones a few months back...being tattoo'ed on the foot is nothing compared to that!If I were to have another ink'd artwork on me, I will definitely have Austin do that one as well. I am referring my hubby to him to cover a surgery scar on his arm. He's a newbie too, LOLs.I highly recommend Austin Ringo for your body artwork, ESPECIALLY if you are new to inking. I came to this tattoo/piercing shop thinking I was going to leave satisfied. Unfortunetly I was wrong. As soon I was approched by Ryan (their only piercer), he seemed like he was rushing the whole thing. The piercing that I went to go get was my second dermal on my chest. First of all, when he asked who did my first piercing he started saying that they did a really unprofessional job. This went on for 20-30 minutes. Ryan could not get the piercing to stay in. As in the first piercing shop i went to (In Isla Vista), she took only 10 minutes. He kept mentioning that the reason he was taking so long was because I didn't have anough skin there. As he kept complaining about the method that the other piercer used (a needle), he kept making a hole on me with an exacto look-alike knife. When he was "done", he covered my piercing with band aids to coverup the fact that he couldnt put the piercings in correctly because they where already falling out. I called him back and he was very rude and asked me to come back to the shop 35 away from where I live just to say that all of a sudden there was a no refund policy. What a waste of time when he could of just said this through the phone. Overall VERY unproffesional experience. Please do not waste your time going to Ryan for your piercings. He does NOT know what he is doing, talks down on other piercers and is very rude in general. Save your time by going somewhere more professional. Here are some pictures of the outcome. GO SEE SEVEN! I'm extremely happy with the start of my cover up tattoo.  It's not even finished and I can tell it's going to be beautiful.  He texted back and forth with me for days before my appointment and made sure he understood what I wanted.  I was able to send him poctures of what I like and he created something just for me. Just visited Buena Tattoo Club on Friday the 13th. Was pretty impressed by the spot. Nice clean facility and a friendly staff. They were super patient and really listened to what my lady wanted since she was a little indecisive. Once she settled on a design Joker took her in and busted out the tattoo cleanly and quickly. She was extremely happy. I wanted a simple custom piece and Joker was more than happy to get it done for me. Once he got the design he got over on transfer paper and got me in the booth straight away. He knocked it out and got it filled in no more than 20 min. While we were there Joker offered consultation on a few other customer and showed how knowledgeable he was. I recommend this place to anyone that wants some quality work done. I got a hold of Joker via Facebook, he was quick to respond and didn't beat around the bush when it came to my questions.
