Awesome! I went to Laughing Buddha (LB) because it was highly recommended by a friend. She raved about the level of cleanliness of LB. My niece and I were both getting our noses pierced.  Everything was clearly explained.  We were given clear instructions about care and follow up.  I was extremely impressed with LB.  From what I understand, LB is considered expensive for piercing but I am of the thought you get what you pay for. I'm not trying to let some kid at the swap meet stick me with a dirty needle on a raggedy folding table with no gloves for $20. But that"s me. So my sister and I decided last minute to get some piercings, I got a nostril and she got industrial. We were walk ins and then welcomed us with such open arms and were super friendly. The two girls up in the front were very nice. I believe her name is Ashley, the girl who helped us out throughout our visit was sick!!! Had my nose pierced here 4 years ago & had a fantastic service! Had to go in about 3 months ago to get another jewelry piece for my nose piercing & to get my piercing "opened up" (I had my nose ring out for a couple days & it closed up) The behind the counter workers and the woman piercer couldn't have been nicer! soooo i went in to get my bellybutton pierced and, first off, the workers were very friendly. They asked to see my bellybutton to make sure they were able to and they told me no, because the piercing would either start to shift or get forced out. Oh my goodness oh my  goodness where do it start at how amazing they are here. All the staff so friendly and knowledgeable.  I had my nose pierced( and septum) and love it has done so well  looks great by Airick he took his time made sure i understood the whole process step my step of what was going to happen he showed me the results of my autoclave results that  the materials where clean.  He took a min or so with  the tip of  a tooth pick to feel around on my nose and find  the best place  to put my piercing . he made sure since i was nervous and dont do to well with pain that i was ready before he pierced  my nose, he reassured me during it i was doing a great job he was almost done and just had to install the backing. He was so quick with it. He had me in the mirror look at it make sure i liked it and its placement and of  course I did and asked if i had any questions which i did  which was could he  please look at my bell piercing ( i got  the belly done somewhere else) he said it looked a bit red bu that i should do the salt wash for it just like  the girls up front said for me to do and to call back or come back with any questions or concerns. Every one up front including him said use a salt was not the saline spray like the other place i had been to said to use for my bell that it was drying it out. Every one was friendly, knowledgeable they had a amazing selection for jewelry and it was of really good quality ( other place  i had gone to for my bell didnt use good materials i found out later which i will explain about shortly and had   only a puny amount and  was crappy)  Ok now a few weeks later i return( yesterday) cuss yest again am having issues with my belly piercing, they looked at it again and ( even tho it was done some where else) gave a great quality  inspection saying it look really irritated  swollen and red,they showed me a fun selection of  replacement for my jewelry , after looking at the selection and considering what i wanted  i chose a ball top and bullet bottom stud, they took my stuff back to be properly sanitized that it would take about 15 mins to get that done and finish up with one person ahead of  me.They finished and had me come in the look at my up happy piercing took the old  jewelry  out cleaned and inspected , the young lady tending to me said as much as she knew i wanted new jewelry and the wanted to put it in that it was best to pull it and  they explained  why. I walked in on Sunday to get my septum pierced and they were busy with a few people in front of me and a couple people who arrived after me. I was helped by the tall Asian guy--I wish I got his name because he was really kind and helpful, but the other girl at the front was the same with the clients she was checking in and assisting.I signed the waivers and before going in for my piercing, they gave me options for what ring to put in first (I chose the traditional septum ring you see everywhere) AND they reviewed aftercare in depth. They also give you sea salt to take home as part of their aftercare process! One thing to take note of is how careful they are to make sure everything is safe and sterile; I appreciated this.The piercing itself was painless, and AJ, the piercer, was so kind, gentle, and funny throughout the process. She told me that she thought I should go bigger, and I'm glad I did, because it fits my face much better! I paid upon leaving and my total was $67 -- this included the piercing itself and the ring.It's been a couple days; my nose is a bit sore, and I'm getting used to maneuvering around my nose, but I enjoyed my experience. Everyone in the shop was nice and thorough! I can't wait to go back to change my jewelry, as they have a lot of beautiful options! They may be pricey, but I think it's worth it. Star is cool as fuck. Everyone here is super chill!! I walked in without an appointment on a Saturday @ 5pm and it was pretty busy, BUT they still acknowledged us and greeted us when we walked in. Star helped me out with getting my navel/belly repierced (something I've rly been wanting to do bc mine closed up & i've had it out for about 3-4 years). She informed me that I wasn't going to get it repierced, but stretched, which they maneuver a little tool to find the old hole instead of jamming & damaging scar tissue. I was super nervous, but it didn't hurt AT ALL. One girl came out feeling super shaky & they gave her juice. Star offered me juice when I came out as well. They really make you feel welcomed & comfortable. Total came out to $80-something. I wanted to go somewhere reliable, without regard to price because when I first got it done, it was as a teen at a swap meet. So I wanted to make the smart choice this time lol. I got a double lobe piercing here back in September of last year. I really liked the piercer and also the guy working in the front. They both were very knowledgeable and helpful. The woman that pierced my ears was careful to do a precise job in making sure that the piercings would match my opposite ear. I'm giving a lower rating because six months later my piercings are still super irritated and never healed correctly, even after using the aftercare sea salt for sea salt soaks I was given. I decided to give it some more time and patience before I gave up but it never got better and never headed properly. I have irritation bumps on the front and back of my ears.After being in pain for months I went to a different place and got a second opinion and they said that my decision to get pierced with a ring for one of my piercings could delay the healing process a bit, so they switched it out for a standard stud. While he was going in to change the second piercing he said the jewelry was way to short and it was probably the source of the irritation to the other piercing. When he pulled out the earring it was on so tight and a huge blood clot came out. He said that now that we have replaced both of them with implant grade jewelry it should definitely help. I am disappointed in Laughing Buddha's service because the prices were not cheap and I had to pay even more in the end to replace the jewelry and essentially re-pierce my ears. I have so much love for this place and its amazing staff. I got my nose pierced here and and bought my little cousin to get hers pierced here too because I knew she would be in the best of hands. The place is sterile and stays smelling like incense which is calming and soothing. I made a mistake and went with a gf to a shop in Silverlake to get her ears pierced and she surprised me with a piercing of my own. It turned out that the piercer was rude and really rough and traumatized my ear. So sad.Today I called because I had been having issues with my cartilage ear piercing and some how had lost my stud earring. It got torn out after hair whipping and dancing lol and I hadn't noticed til today in the a.m. I freaked out because I thought the stud had gone in the pierced hole (which happened twice before) and when I called they advised me to go in a.s.a.p. Once there, I had my consultation and they assured me they would do whatever they could to recover the stud and re-pierce it if possible and we'd go from there. Once I filled out the necessary forms and waited a bit because it was busy as usual. It took all of 5 minutes to figure out my stud was ripped out and all the woman had to do was stretch my piercing and put a new stud in. I was so relieved and honestly so happy. Words can not express how awesome AJ is. I have a deviated septum which makes it difficult to get a straight septum piercing. I had gone to other piercers and they all couldn't get my piercing straight. I had gone in the past to AJ who did my daiths so I went back to her (should've gone to her first) in hopes she could give me the piercing I so desperately wanted and she did. I walked out of there with a practically straight septum piercing, can't even tell unless you're nit picking and really staring at it for a long time and even then it's hard to tell. She is awesome at what she does and is a very down to earth person who will definitely make you feel at ease. I recently moved and she was going to recommend other piercing places closer to me but no matter the distance I will always come back to laughing Buddha just so AJ can pierce me. For me I was looking for nose jewelry which they have a huge selection that made my decision a bit tougher cause I liked so many..... but I picked out a nice tiny gold sun burst with itty bitty opal in the middle. They have a specialist change out your nose piercing for price if $5 which for me is totally worth it cause my figures aren't youthful any more and they have the tools and experience. This place is amazing! Went in for a daith piercing in hopes of relief for my chronic migraines. Jad and the staff are very friendly and informative. They don't make you feel inferior if you have questions or concerns and are very willing to help. The piercer, Airick, was extremely friendly, easy going, extremely clean and sterile. He changed gloves multiple times while cleaning, which I appreciate. I was very nervous because, even though this is my 7th piercing, this was the first time getting a piercing without a friend to hold my hand, lol. He assured me it'll be quick and painless and it was!I went a few minutes after opening and it was getting crowded. (Pack on the patience because it got crowded fast.) The paperwork was quick and easy. Went in to get a VCH piercing. The wait was kind of long but there was only 1 piercer (AJ) and it was Christmas Eve and really busy. Both receptionist were so sweet and went through everything and made sure I understood after care. Best part was I got 20% because of their Christmas discount.During the procedure: So in order to get the VCH.... vertical clitoris hood piercing.... a woman has to have enough skin to be pierced. Unfortunately Ms. AJ said I wouldn't be able to get the piercing and I think she saw my face of disappointment so she said IF YOU REALLY WANT IT ILL TRY. And I decided that yes I did really want it. My wife had her Septum done for traditional reasons and the staff guide us through the steps, what to expect, what not to do or to do, preference of accessories, and level of pain in comparison to other areas. I hadn't worn earrings for about a year and the holes were too closed to get earrings in. I came here because of the solid 5 star rating. The piercing guy was out for a few hours due to a dental emergency but the guy at the front desk was super nice, helpful and knowledgable so I ran some errands and came back just in time to be seen first.It was very clean, the tools were sanitized and Eric made me comfortable and "re-pierced"(reconstituted or whatever they called it) my ears. I came to the Laughing Buddha on a whim to get my septum pierced last night and boy they didn't disappoint! I walked in and was greeted by the two front workers who were so friendly! I came here with my brothers gf to get piercingsshe was getting her daith pierced and i was getting my nose. Right when we walked in we were greeted in a great manner by a person whose name i don't remember but was extremely friendly. Right away he starts asking what brought us into the shop and starts telling us about the piercings we want. He was very informative.They have a great collection of jewelry which is great! I decided to start with a gold nose ring which of course was on the pricier side yet totally worth it! My piercer Airick was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable while getting my nose pierced. He made sure i knew that everything was sterilized which was relieving. My 18k gold hoop was 90 dollars plus a 30 dollar service fee but they do offer cheaper silver hoops and studs. The pain of the piercing was a 3/10 and you're probably guaranteed to tear up a little! We were then told about the after care and they give you a generous amount of salt for the solution needed afterwards. got my tongue pierced a week ago, it was a mild annoying pain in my mouth the first night it was punctured and by the second day i had some swelling which gave me a lisp. The swelling has gone down substantially and i can pretty much use my tongue normally now, so i will be going back for a downsized bar very soon. It was a very quick process, i went in with my friend who got three ear piercings done in one sitting. We were there for probably an hour to quickly fill out paperwork, get pierced, and have the counter girl explain the aftercare to us. Really great experience. I went with my niece to get her septum pierced.  This was her first piercing aside from ears so it was kind of a big deal. Ashley was the one behind the counter and she was amazing! She took her time with my niece and explained everything step by step. She even helped me with a few of my questions and concerns regarding my dermals. Ashley was very welcoming (the whole shop was) and she was very knowledgeable.  The actual piercing process was quick and easy..I can't remember the piercer's name was he was really cool and calming. There was a bit of a wait but that's to be expected with walk ins and I actually prefer them to take their time anyways. The place was very clean and they have an actual color changing strip to show you that the pieces were all steralized . Let me just start by validating my opinions a little. I grew up a block from the Venice boardwalk. I had my belly button pierced when I was 13 and all hell broke lose from there. I've probably had over 20 piercings *excluding my ears* From shitty boardwalk shops to fancy studios in London, I've experienced it. When I say this is the place to be pierced, please believe me. I came in on a Saturday afternoon alone. There was a group of about four girls discussing a nose piercing. The girl in the front was sweet and patient. I asked to see some opals for a chest dermal. Let me be clear when I say this, when the shop charges separately for jewelry, It does not make them any more expensive. They are giving you options. Not all pieces cost the same, and higher quality jewelry is not cheap. You HAVE to remember this metal is going to be living inside of you. The piercing process is invasive. They also show you with a little science strip that everything is sterile. They don't just say "hey I'm opening this sealed plastic so you know this needle is new"Anyways, I was done in literally 20 minuets. The piercer was quick and detail oriented. The dermal with a peacock opal was like $90 before tip. The girls at the counter explained to another client that she shouldn't get her bellybutton pierced if she is going to the beach this summer, which I thought was very professional and ultimately led me to write this review. They were attentive to every single person who walked through the door which is rare considering nobody likes to talk to 4 giggling teenagers about a nose piercing. I am going to start off by saying I did not have any piercing done at this place, but I'm giving it 5 stars and I'll explain why. I went in wanting to get my navel pierced. I had gastric bypass surgery 2 years ago and I had some skin removed from my stomach area last year. Because of that the chick that does piercings there advised me against having my navel pierced, because of possible scar tissue and the chances of my body rejecting the piercing because I do not have enough blood flowing to that direct area. This is why I am giving this place five stars, they answered my questions and they gave me advice. I went to Laughing Buddha with a friend because she wanted to get her forward helix pierced. There were so many things I loved!1. CLEAN I've been to lots of piercing studios and this was by far the cleanest one I've ever stepped into. They took steps to ensure everything was clean, sanitized, and to explain their process to us. My baby wasn't allowed back in the piercing room because babies are not sterile. They were exceedingly careful when it came to sanitation. You can never be too careful! I loved it!2. INFORMED I like that their focus is piercing. Often I feel like it's a tattoo/piercing combo studio. Which is fine. But this is fully dedicated to piercing so all 3 of the people in that day were very knowledgeable about piercings. I came in and had my newborn with me. I wasn't planning to get a piercing but the guy who was helping us asked right away whose baby she was. He told me that they won't pierce a new mom until the baby is at least 6 months old or after you stop breastfeeding. He explained about putting added stress to your body as well as the risk of infection which could pass into breastmilk. I have never heard that before and was really impressed that they were more concerned about my wellbeing and the wellbeing of my baby than about making an extra buck.3. HELPFUL They really took the time to explain to my friend how to clean her new piercing. They gave her instructions as well as a website to find a great piercer in her area when she returned home out of state. They said they are always available to help if she has questions but wanted to make sure she had a reputable piercer local to her in case she needed in person help. 4. PERSONAL They took the time to check and see what type of piercing, quantity, size, and placement would work for my friend. They didn't just give her what she asked for and allow it to be overcrowded. They took her personal body into account! I had been thinking about getting a nose piercing for some time. The place was clean. I was greeted right away. I wish I got the young ladie's name at the counter, but she was so thorough, explaining every step of the procedure and healing process. She put me at ease. I was offered water and candy while I waited. I was shown how they ensure that all equipment is sterile. Eric came and checked on me, and was so down to earth and has a funny sense of humor. When it was time, he explained the procedure and has such a congenial way about him. Everything was clean and went seamlessly. They provided me with the salt solution and instructions. Hands down the best place to get a piercing.They are SUPER knowledgeable, friendly and the cleanest parlor I've ever been inside of.They have such a large collection of jewelry, so you can customize your piece to fit your face!I came here to have a large horseshoe removed, and got a smaller one that fit my face.Got my lobes restretched, got a cuuuuuuute tragus done too.The piercer is amazing!  Washed his hands, changed gloves basically Everytime his hands left my piercings, super sweet and not at all rushing.They value their product and their service, it shows in ever facet of this establishment.I should have came back here instead of that tattoo shop I went to prior.  Lesson learned... BEST place to get a piercing hands down. Got my helix done over 15 years ago and had a great experience and then recently I decided to get my daith done for migraines. Went to Steel Ink and Tatto first because I didn't know this place was still around. The guy Sherif messed up on my piercing so it was way more painful than it should have been not to mention he did it in the wrong spot. Came here and it was 100% better. Barely hurt and was super quick. Only a few seconds of pain then nothing. They took out the bad daith on one side and put a new one in on the other side. Not sure yet if it helps with my migraines but I will update in a few weeks for anyone who is interested. I know it helps with some people and not others but it's worth a shot!Thanks Eric! Read Less

This is the best place to get piercings done. They are clean, professional and beyond knowledgeable. Ashley helped me out quite a lot while making my decisions on what piercings I wanted. They have amazing quality jewerly and a lot of variety. The first time I went they made sure to educate me on the piercing themselves (I got four done and a jewerly change) and what kind of jewelry would work best. They asked me what kind, if any, medications I was on and that was very important. I was at the time on antibiotics and that can potentially mess with the healing process so they had me wait til I was done with the medicine. They put my health over making money, she wanted me make sure my piercings healed properly and stuck around. Now the cool thing is Ashley isnt a piercer, she works in the front. She is extremely knowledgeable, down to earth, and an absolute sweetheart. Her coworkers were great too. The piercer Erick did a great job. He was very clean and made me feel calm and prepared. He changed out his gloves everytime he grabbed a new needle. He did wonderful work and I love my piercings. Thank you all for a wonderful experience and patience. I came in today just to purchase new earrings for 6 of my old piercings and I had a great experience. Everyone was extremely helpful and patient while I picked out all my new pieces-even giving me advice on what they thought would work and wouldn't work for my ears. Pretty chill place. I went in to buy some new jewelry and I was greeted by pleasant and attentive staff. I felt like I took too long to decide on the pieces I was going to buy, but they were always very understanding and I never felt rushed. The prices are a little high. BUT the quality of the pieces is fantastic. At first glance it seems as though their selection is a little small. But once you get the staff talking you realize there are many many more pieces they can bring out for you to see. Just follow the scent of incense to the shop upstairs. I wanted to take some time to see how my piercing would heal before writing this review. It has now been a little over two months since I've gotten my nose pierced and no complaints whatsoever. I was a little worried about getting this nose piercing because in the past, I've always gotten bumps throughout the healing process of my ear piercings. Luckily this has not happened with this piercing. Further, I had noticeable pain for only a couple days and after that, it only hurt if I significantly bumped or shoved my nose.The staff were very kind and patient while my indecisive-self chose jewelry. As for the piercing itself, it was quick but not painless (ofcourse).The shop is clean and has plenty of jewelry to pick from so I'd definitely come back if I ever built up the courage to get another piercing or just wanted to get more jewelry. They have an assortment of jewelry to choose from; the staff at the front desk really help you out and explain everything before you go inside, and help put you at ease. I was pierced by Airick and he walked me through all the steps so I knew what was happening. It felt like a small pinch the actual piercing part, when he secured the jewelry it did hurt a little but it's only for a second and it's bearable. Wow! What can I say about how rad this place is?? It was the morning of my birthday and I was like this is it.. this is the day I get my septum pierced. I've been wanting it for a while and today feels like the perfect day. I called in the morning and Martin answered right away and was so sweet and helpful and encouraging and straightforward. He answered all my weird questions and he immediately made me feel like I was making a good decision by going here. He let me know Sarah would be my piercer and that she has like 20 years of experience. I was impressed and it all just felt RIGHT. Coming in that night (FYI they stop piercing an hour before closing, I'm glad I called ahead to find this out). But I came in and everyone there had a welcoming energy. I was a little nervous it might intimidating but I didn't feel that way at all, even with my requests of making my piercing "small, dainty, and hardly noticeable". I figured they might roll their eyes, like girl, why are you getting a piercing if you don't want it to be noticeable? But no, they were like Yeah! we get it, here are some cool pieces of jewelry that will compliment your face and be just like that. Awesome! I picked my jewelry, signed some paperwork, learned about aftercare and paid. Then it was onto the main event! Sarah had some loud rock music on which was surprisingly very soothing and a welcomed distraction. She let one of my friends come in with me and hold my hand. She made some marks, showed my sterile tools/jewelry and told me to take some deep breaths and BOOM. Septum pierced. I was like, umm is it over already? It didn't even hurt. She really has an amazing/quick/steady hand and is thoughtful in her approach. I could sense her confidence and understanding of human anatomy and I LOVED the way it looked!! Disappointing! I emailed Laughing Buddha for a quote on a piercing as I knew I would be making a trip to Seattle. I went out of my way to find the shop, all psyched and ready to go. We discussed my piercing and suddenly, the price almost doubled! I showed the girl that I was speaking with the email that I had received confirming the price, and she told me that was a "mistake" and refused to honor it. I mentioned that I had driven from out of state and had gone out of my way after arranging the details, and she couldn't have cared less. She ever-so-graciously offered me the crappiest jewelry though. She was pretty rude throughout the entire exchange. Needless to say, I didn't end up getting any work done there. I got my Septum pierced and I am extremely happy! The shop is very clean and the piercing did not hurt at all. I was very worried about the pain but the staff and piercer all assured me I would be fine. It was essentially pain free and I am healing up beautifully!
