Walking into a tattoo shop I would get so intimidated and I just never felt welcomed BUT here... Man, it was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. This tattoo shop is so clean and welcoming. Not at all like the other places I've visited. I came in and spoke to L about an idea I had for my first tattoo. She took my idea and emailed me a picture of her drawing a couple days later. I absolutely loved it. I came in a little nervous accompanied by my sister in law but L was amazing! She made sure I was 100% comfortable and satisfied with the placement. She also chatted with us the whole time. Before we knew it L was done! I just had my second session with "L" and it was just as amazing as the first one!! She is such an amazing artist!! The vibe in here is awesome. All the artists are fun and friendly and make the time spent here, fly by. Liz, the receptionist must have cleaned the windows 3 times in my 3 hour session. Went to get a tattoo from Dakota and I absolutely regret it! It a small tattoo on my wrist and he totally botched it. Color is spotty, lines are crooked and he seemed extremely nervous the whole time. Save your money and go with an experienced artist. Got my very first tattoo with Will a few months ago and I couldn't be more thrilled about how it turned out! Since it was my first tattoo I wanted to leave it mostly up to the expert as far as placement and size, but Will gave me so many opportunities for input! That meant by the time needle was meeting skin I felt very confident about what was about to permanently be on my body. The vibe at Mule Tattoo is nice and chill. Lots of laughs and stories between the artists. There are free snacks and drinks up front so you don't get woozy from the tattoo. So i had my first tattoo done here with Dokota. He was Amazing. He sat down with me and we went over what I wanted to have done,  he answered all my questions and concerns that I had. I had an amazing experience at Mule Tattoo. I took a picture of the Harley Quinn Diamonds I designed to my artist, Dakota, and gave him 3 must haves. The 1st was to straighten the Diamonds; 2nd was to switch one of the pattern with another diamond ; 3rd was to make sure it did not have any line ( I wanted it to look like it had been painted on as I had done in my picture). Other than that, he had the freedom to make it his own and add his own touch to it. It took 2 hours to get it done and I LOVE IT!!!! I got them done on my right thigh. I was comfortable the whole time. At one point my back started to act up and Dakota asked if I could have another pillow to help make me more comfortable. They artist are charged by the hour so with his guesstimate of how long it would take, I was able to plan my finances accordingly. It is a very clean and well kept location. If someone told me they didn't have a good experience here, I would tell them they probably went to the wrong shop. Everyone here is amazing. I've been tattooed by L, who I've followed from different shops for the past couple years, and Nyra. It's hard to describe how much I like this place but whenever I come in I feel comfortable and happy. Jen is always incredibly nice as well.I've only gotten flash from Nyra so far, but his talent extends beyond past that. He's so nice and always helps take care of the people there.L gave me my very first tattoos, and I'll come back for more down the line! She's one of the best people I could have ever come in to contact with. She's put up with all my newbie questions through the years, always makes sure I'm comfortable, and has made every tattoo she has given me something special. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Jen (one of the owners) and our tattoo artist Christa we're awesome!! We walked in yesterday and they were booked up (schedule an apt ahead of time!!) but Jen texted us today that they had a last minute cancellation and could fit us in! My wife and I both got our very first tattoos and the entire staff was so friendly and helpful.Christa was awesome...too bad that if you're reading this, she isn't taking any new appointments and is bo Jed through September! She is super talented and very friendly. Everyone here is super friends and you can definitely feel the family vibe whenever you walk in! I found mule tattoo on instagram and was really impressed with Nyra's work. Even as an apprentice his tattoos were already way better than many of the seasoned tattoo artists I've seen. I wish I can give this place more stars- from the get-go the entire team treats you like family (and Jen bakes you the BEST cookies). I don't have experience with the other artists, but they were all very friendly and wickedly talented.Nyra is an amazing person and sat down with me for almost 3 hours just to make sure that the tattoo I got was exactly what I wanted. He spent another few hours tattooing the leaf detail I wanted on an existing tattoo, and at the end of the day, I enjoyed his company so much that we went out for burgers! I love Mule Tattoo Studio, I've been to many shops around California in my life, and I have never felt more at home and comfortable than I have there. Everyone there makes you feel like family and put off amazing, positive, energetic and enthusiastic vibes. My tattoo artist Christa Richie is my tattoo artist and she is amazing, her art is equally on par with her attitude and willingness to make your piece exactly what you have in your mind, I just leave it in her hands, her artistic flare and creativity is the most creative and fun I've personally experienced. All the artist there are amazing though and I have the upmost respect from them all and would very happily let them tattoo me. This is not just my tattoo studio, it feels like my second home. This place is amazing! My wife and I got our first tattoos while visiting our daughter. She received her second during our visit. I don't have another tattoo experience to compare this to, but I can't imagine it gets any better. My daughter and wife's work was done by Will. Our daughter did the pre-planning with Will, and everything was prepped perfectly. He's a great person, very enthusiastic and attentive. My tattoo was done by Christa. She combined three images into a single work to convey the message I wanted in EXACTLY the way I was looking for! Each of our tattoos is deeply personal and meaningful, and the artwork of Will and Christa is absolutely what we were looking for. Had a forearm piece done here by Will. All around excellent experience. Friendly folks, fantastic custom work, and Will was really cool about accommodating my veganism, letting me know what ink/care ingredients he used and using the vegan transfer paper I brought in. I could not be more pleased and absolutely want to come back for more work here. He has completed three large tattoos on my back so far.  He aims to please and takes down all of your artistic ideas and comes up with some really awesome artwork you can pick from. What can I say about mule tattoo?!?! Only that it is pretty much the best tattoo shop that I've ever set foot in! And here's why:the shop is absolutely beautiful...it has amazing concrete floors juxtaposed next to natural wood beams to give in an outdoorsy yet industrial feel! You can honestly tell the thought and care that the owners put into every decor decision. Every tattooist that works there does amazing work! Even their apprentice Nyra is such a talented artist and that translates in his tattooing skills! I personally get tattooed by Jen Davis, who let me tell you...if she doesn't win the sweetest person ever award...she would DEFINITELY win the sweetest most kind hearted tattooist award! I mean she bakes you homemade cookies every single session! I mean really who does that?! Not to mention she's honestly one of the best tattoo artists I've ever seen as far as her work and detailing goes...I came in with a large project for her to finish my sleeve which my pre-existing half sleeve needed to blend into the new work that she's started and she's done it absolutely flawless thus far! What I have to say that I liked the most about this shop is that I never felt that intimidating feeling from any of the tattooists that you can get when you walk into other pretentious "I'm so much cooler then you cause I work a tattoo shop" shops! Hahaha everyone there is just a genuinely good person and passionate about what they do...so that in turn reflects in their artwork! I cannot recommend this place highly enough...it can be priced a little higher then other tattoo shops, but let me tell you you get what you pay for.
