My husband and I went to get our first tattoos yesterday by Mr. Kevin Becvar. I don't even know where to begin. First off, the shop is clean and as soon as we got there we were welcomed by warm, welcoming, people. We brought our daughter with us so we could take turns getting our tattoos, while the other person took her out and about. The few minutes she was there however, they were extremely sweet to her. KEVIN, I can't say enough good things. We booked an 8 hour session and split it. He came up with absolutely beautiful designs and I'm already scheduled to go back next week. He gave my husband 2 perfect pieces for his time in the Army, and it was so great to see my husband so happy. I can't say enough about his work!! So talented, virtually painless, and he got huge pieces done in that amount of time. Worth every penny spent and some. We have waited years to get our tattoos and to find the right person, and we picked the best. Celebrating my friends birthday, we ran into Captain Tattoo at 8:50 p.m, everyone was friendly, and showed great customer service even though they were closing soon. We asked for a very small foot tattoo, Rodney was the artist that assisted us. He was very nice, made us relax and feel welcome. The shop is super clean, I watched them change out all of the protected gear and prep area. We were trying to find a tattoo shop to get two tattoos for our anniversary. We stumbled across this shop with great reviews and figured we give it a try. Scheduled through Facebook and sent pictures of what we wanted. We arrived the day of and there were some scheduling conflicts because I wanted a cover up which is originally why I scheduled early. We showed up and they said that they couldn't do my cover up because they needed more time (obviously). However, they were quick to react and were able to set me up with a awesome artist, Caleb. After looking at his work collection, I immediately decided to move forward with my plan b. My husband got his tattoo by Connor and he was great. He did great work on completing his half sleeve. Moved forward with a great plan and turned out amazingly. Caleb was precise and detailed. It turned out fantastic and I couldnt be happier. Just got this super rad tattoo with Caleb! Came all the way down from Oregon to get a tat from him! He will always be my one and only artist to put a needle in me! Has mad skills and super friendly and makes you feel more than just a customer giving him money! Don't waste yalls time going to a garage on a couch getting tattooed, let him do it right the first time, but if you do end up going that route once it's healed and looks like crap take it to him and he can turn into a piece you'll be happy to wear around! Heard great things from a friend about Captain Tattoo and since I recently lost my pet I decided to give it a try to get a piece in her memory. Called and was able to schedule an appt ASAP! David Taylor was my artist and he did an outstanding job! I showed him what I wanted and he suggested a few changes that could make my tattoo even better! It wasn't rushed! I was becoming so numb to the shops within 5-10 minutes of my house. I am SO glad this parlor's existence has been made known to me!Let me explain...This shop had me at "we'll stay open until we're done". Came in for my first Friday the 13th tattoo (but definitely not my first tattoo) and expected a wait. Just a note: don't hit up any shop on this day under the impression you'll be in a chair quick, especially if you roll up a few minutes short of 10pm like my friend and I. By all means, the shop owner could have and should have told us to turn around, but he wrote us in anyway. Captain Tattoo gave us the time, care, and respect for having been numbers 99 and 100 on their list of customers that night. Staff had to be mad tired and over it, but I didn't hear a single complaint and their work was on point for going at it at some unholy hours of the night/morning. By the time our turn came around it was a little after 3am and yeah, our tattoos were off of flash sheets and therefore not the most sizable/precision demanding, but our artist was rock solid for the time and given the less than favorable circumstances for him and his peers. Wish we had grabbed his name, homeboy was from Oceanside just like my friend and I and just chill about everything. Helps to also be super pleased with the tattoos we both got. I've had it with my local shops, too condescending, quick dollar, I'll make the drive out to a place that feels laid back and genuine, producing sincere art. Read Less
