Not the nicest shop around. Took 5 hours from draw up, set up, and actual tattoo time. The design is great, but the actual work sucks. He dug the needle too deep, and I can some ink is already blowing out. I understand I was a walk in and it was late, but this is permanently on me now. I was going g to ask him the finish the band all around. I didn't want to sit for another hour and get more crooked lines. Something that shouldn't have been rushed at all. I've been thinking and thinking about getting my first tattoo. I did my research on what I wanted and changed my mind 5 X's. Sunday, I stopped in at 1st Amendment, Spoke with Chris Gove. Showed him what I wanted. Looked over his work. Loved the image he drew up on my Mermaid. Lets do it! Chris was professional, very courteous and gentle. Few hours later my Mermaid was complete. I've gotten my ears pierced twice and literally just got my left tragus piercing done! The same piercer has done it every time (super cutie with double sleeves, I believe his name is Brian) and he's always sweet and deals with all my cussing very well!Last piercing I got was March 2016 and I walked in tonight and he remembered me so that was awesome! They're always quick and efficient too, and I love the studs they use because they're super easy to clean :) I've never had any of my piercings become infected following the care instructions he gave (unlike when I got my first ear piercings done at Claire's with a stupid piercing gun!!!!) :) If you follow their Facebook page they do deals monthly for piercings and tats, usually 20 dollar basic piercings and 100$ palm sized tattoos :) Everybody in the Shop is super friendly and nice too! Found this place on Facebook due to all their shares! I was a little scared to give this place a shot because of all the reviews. But I just wanted my forward helix pierced. The bad reviews were mostly for septum and nose piercings. Thought the ear was going to be fine as long as I took good care of it! So praying for a clean healing process lol. Plus my cousin got her nose and belly button pierced here and everything seems to be fine. I had Brian pierced my ears. He was very chill and got it done quickly. Didn't really carry a conversation with him because I was actually pretty nervous thinking it was going to hurt bad. Turns out to be the same as my Tragus! I could see what people meant with the staff just wanting to get their job done. I felt the vibe. Lol. But it was fine with me cause my cousin and I were in the rush anyways. I wasn't told what not to do like every other piercing place would do. Didn't tell me what kind of jewelry it was or gauge. Had to ask and observe what's going on with the tray. Good thing it's not my first piercing and I actually know the proper way of cleaning it. So if you're looking for a place that's super professional, your first piercing or first tattoo, i wouldn't recommend this place. The prices were actually pretty cheap. You get what you pay for. Literally fuck these guys! I came in with a two friends, one of them telling me the deal for 20 dollar piercing for reposting something one social media. My girl friend doesn't show her post to the guy and gives it to her for 20 !!! but my other friend got charged 50! We all came in together at the same time , I don't find out till we get home that he got charged 50 instead of 20 but the fact that I had to come back and he charged us more than double the amount is insane! He didn't even give me back the 30 bucks we spent he gave me 20 dollars back, worse experience in my life! I came in on Friday the 13 to get a tattoo. By the time I got there, they were already done with their tattoo special for the day, so I decided to get a belly button piercing. I was in & out of the shop in five minutes, & the piercing process went super quick & smoothly! It didn't really hurt that much at all, as I was anticipating it to hurt pretty badly because the last professional piercing (nose) that I got at another shop really hurt. This place charged me $60 for a septum piercing and I gave the guy a $10 tip. It was incredibly painful so I had another piercer look at it for me and he said the person who did it went through the hard tissue and it wasn't even in my septum. I had to take it out and get it redone by someone who actually knows the anatomy of the nose. Not only did the guy who pierced me to a shit job but EVERYONE who worked there were straight up assholes. Like totally inhospitable and completely unhappy to be there. I've been to couple different shops for tattoos but the last two one I got i went to Drew. He's super chill and always drawing every time I've gone in either with a friend or myself. Happy decided to ask him to do one my tattoos cause not only is he a great artist but he will work with you on what you want. He likes to change it up a bit or draw it himself just to make it different (as in still what you want but not just copying what you show him) and every time I've been happy with the outcome! Agree with Tiara 100%. I got my nips pierced with my bf and they did such a shit job he ended up taking them out to let them heal and get them redone somewhere else. They were so crooked it looked like an amateur had done it which is disgustingly disappointing since we paid 150+ 25% tip....stupid to tip him on our part. Mine cause me so much discomfort I went to a different tattoo place and had them put in diff piercings and it made ALLLL the difference. They stopped causing problems for me and I think the reason why 1st amendment's piercings were an issue had something to do with the lack of sterilization. I got my first nose piercing here, and the only reason I had to get a second one is because they messed it up so badly. When I went in, everything was fine up until I sat down to do the piercing. They didn't let me pick which stud or ring I wanted, and they gave me a ring with a ball on the end, WHICH YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE FOR NEW PIERCINGS. He didn't explain anything as he did it, and when he marked the piercing he did it in more of an oval and I could not see clearly where he intended for the piercing to go. I asked if he could go up a bit higher, which I found out later was a bad decision, but he should have known that and recommended me to reconsider the placement. A higher piercing would have prevented me from ever being able to get a hoop put in. So after the piercing was done, I noticed that the stud stuck out a bit, and every time I pushed it back in it would come out again. After about a day I realized that MY NOSE WASN'T PIERCED ALL THE WAY THROUGH. You are not supposed to use that type of stud for this reason. The skin on the inside of my nose healed over the back of the stud in less than a day and a blood blister began to form. I went back to try to get it fixed. But when I went in he just told me to try and push it through. How on earth are you supposed to push a ball through skin? When he was unsuccessful he told me to GO BUY MY OWN RING and to get a longer one so it would fit better. I asked if maybe he could take it out and re-pierce it lower down, but he said that the shape and thickness of my nose wouldn't allow that; which is some bs because I ended up getting my nose re-pierced successfully and it worked out fine. I don't know about the tattoo artists at this place, I'm sure they are great, but the guy who did my piercing was absolutely unprofessional and did not know what he was doing. Excellent service. Just got my eyebrow pierced there today. Immediately after I felt on the verge of passing out but the piercer was so kind. Gave me a rag for the back of my neck (I was sweating), water, and turned on a fan. Assured me it was a normal thing. Plus the piercing process was quick and easy! Read Less

I got my 1st tattoo from them. The man that did it was tweaking balls. I couldn't really tell that he was because he was doing my back. He gouged the hell out of me where you could just look at it and you can see how raised up it is. It took me several years to find somebody that could fix it. Well at least try to hide how messed up it is. I had to spend a lot of money and had to cover my entire back to try to hide how raised up my tattoo they did was. I finally came across an artist that I actually trust in Hemet California who had to blast my whole back to hide it. If you feel my back you can still feel it but at least you can't look at it and see how raised up it is. Shortly after they did my tattoo guy who did it went to jail. I went back a few times to see if somebody there would fix it or try to make it look better but everybody I talk to there wanted to charge me A LOT of money to fix it. I will never go there again and I don't recommend it to anybody. I wish I never went there in the first place because I never wanted my whole back done like that. Read Less

Got a piercing here.. staff wasn't super friendly acted totally like they just wanted to get the job done(which is fine because it's your job) but it's always nice to do business with someone friendly, got my nostril pierced. It seemed they didn't make the stud short enough or something? Anyway every time I yawned or ate it popped right up, even when I was sleeping popped out. Went in to get a "Halloween special" and I spent a while trying to decide. My lil guy was with me and he was helping me pick or so I thought.... he kept saying I want that one. I said no I'm gonna get this one I think he said ok u get that one I want this one. I said "No lol you're four! " he cried and cried. I can't thank Danny enough for going out of his way on his own to come up to my son and say what tattoo do u want buddy. He went and did a stencil for him. Made his night! He was so excited! I've gone to 1st amendment for most of my tattoos on my body (By Chris, Drew & Mostly Tyson) and I don't have a single complaint. Brian did my nipples and my cartilage and once again the piercings healed perfect and everything went well. As I'm reading a lot of this negative comments it's people with Halloween tattoos, or the same basic tattoo that every one has. I understand a lot of people out there want the same little anchor and the same saying of "this too shall pass" or something in that area. But change it up. News flash, your artist doesn't want to tattoo that shit on your body and that's probably why he did a half a** job because he probably tattooed the same thing on like 7 other people other than you. In my opinion, ALL the guys at 1st amendment are amazing. They focus on a lot of Traditional Work.. Drew more black and grey. I promise if your going for that kind of work you will get it done GREAT. Study your artist before you decide to get anything. There's so many shops out there, and if 1st amendment isn't your "flavor" than don't go. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET NIPPLE PIERCINGS HERE!!!! I came in on 10/11/2016 at 12:00pm to get my nipple pierced. I was their first customer of the day. I had never gotten a piercing here before so I didn't know what to expect. Although I had my nipple shaded in by one of the artists a couple weeks prior and it had already faded, I decided to give 1st amendment another chance. So I walk in, tell them what I want and the piercer asked me to fill out a form. He was really respectful and took his time. He took me to the back room and closed a privacy gate. Everything was all good until it came to the actual piercing getting done. As he was piercing, I felt unusual pain. As I looked at his face, I can tell that he was a bit "uneasy". As I looked into the mirror I was faced with and AREOLA piercing. He got nowhere near my nipple!! And it was completely slanted. A nipple piercing hurts waaaaaay too much to be dickin around and makin mistakes! I immediately left and went to a more professional piercer with more experience in nipple piercings. His IG is  piercer_Jesse  and has a shop in Redlands, Ca if you are ever in need of a GREAT piercer. Jesse told me how awful the piercing was and how dangerous that could be in the long run. He explained how the tissue in my breast was more than likely pushing down on the piercing because of the way it was positioned. The list goes on of the complications he explained!! So I ended up having to get that one RE DONE along with my other nipple. It was HELL. The pain is unreal so make sure you go somewhere that you can TRUST. Trust me, this is not a piercing you would want getting messed up and having to re-do it. Stay AWAY from 1st Amendment. Read Less

I'm writing a review for both myself and my girfriend. First off, Tyson was my artist and I am very happy with my experience with him. It was my first tattoo, and he went slow and was patient with me. He constantly made sure I was doing okay and kept great conversation going the whole time. I would definitely go to him again and recommend him to a friend/family member. My girfriend on the other hand, had an experience quite opposite. It was also her first tattoo and although she went in comfortable and not nervous in anyway, she left rather unhappy. I'm pretty sure her artists' name was Drew. He was quiet and unapproachable from beginning to end and her tattoo, needless to say,  does not look the best. She wanted to get a simple domino, no shading, just line work. The lines are horrible and the dots inside the domino are missing lots of ink. It was finished in a matter of only 5 minutes and felt very rushed. She is really disappointed. Read Less

I see a lot of negative reviews, but in addition to my 2 tattoos, my wife has gotten 3 here, 1 by Tyson and 2 by Drew, my daughter got a tattoo by Tyson and my other daughter got a nose piercing.
