When my fiance and I visited Tahoe we decided we wanted to get matching tattoos to celebrate our engagement, yes we're still together, and we checked out a few places around Tahoe and landed on this place. (avoid the tattoo shop in the Hard Rock at all costs)When I called they were very welcoming and made an appointment for us. Upon arrival we were checked in and our ideas were made into designs and checked, double checked and triple checked. Our choice of placement made it difficult so they suggested something else and it worked perfectly.It was my first tattoo and I was made to feel so welcome, so cared about and with genuine professionalism. I called the shop day-of to see if anyone was available and, lucky for me, I was able to come in asap. The shop was clean & had such good vibes. I loved all the artwork hanging all over the walls. We talked about what I wanted, sent him the pictures, got a quote and filled out the paperwork. It's cash only! So make sure you bring enough $$$ + tip$. Noah was so friendly & easy going. Called the shop once they opened and Noah answered the phone. He was so accommodating to fitting my husband and I in for small tattoos in a few hours from when I called. When I walked in he was in the middle of doing another tattoo and sweetly advised once he finished up he would get to me next. He cleaned the area very well when getting ready to do mine. (tldr: left a deposit for a large commission piece and was ghosted by artist Dylan. Dylan then rejected doing the piece when I called him out for not responding, and I am pending on him sending my deposit back. )Dylan at Cosmic Creations did a script tattoo for me about a year ago, and touch up just over a month ago. I thought he was a nice guy, so I asked him about a cover up for my hip. Mind you, I am driving from Alameda in the East Bay all the way to Tahoe to be tattooed by Dylan. I left a deposit with him on June 30th for a tattoo I had asked him to design and tattoo in the next few weeks. He said it wouldn't be a problem. In the past, he had failed to get back to me for over a month, so when I asked about the hip he told me I could leave a deposit for the design and it would ensure that he got back to me. He said that specifically that he would reply faster, without being prompted, and apologized for his previous delay in responding. I sent a few ideas for the cover up to Dylan over the course of 3+ weeks, and when I made a solid decision about one, I sketched out a rough drawing and sent over reference pictures. He still had not responded to me in all that time, and the days kept passing. I messaged Dylan on July 3, 12, 18, 21, and 24. I sent him a message asking if he was still interested in doing the piece, and if he wasn't, to please send the deposit back as he hadn't sketched the idea or anything and I wanted it done soon (else I would not ask for it back if he had already designed something). He responded seeming very upset and telling me he would not do the piece anymore because I was "blowing up his instagram" (the platform he chose to message over). Because it was Instagram, I could see every time he opened my message and said nothing, for weeks. If he was so incredibly busy, he could have sent a simple "got it, I'll get back to you later." It takes 10 seconds to type that. I have not yet received my deposit back, but I will update this when I do. The 1 star is for the lovely piercer who did my daith, and another artist at the shop, Ian, who did a great job on a tattoo for my friend. I would not recommend Dylan to design larger pieces, due to his customer service and inability to reply. He can trace letters just fine, but that is unfortunately the extent of my experience at this shop and I will never be back. Was going to make it my regular place and have several large pieces done here, but the lack of customer service and general rudeness of the staff (mainly Dylan) are a deal breaker. Read Less

They were all very friendly people (I literally had a conversation with everyone and it was great) and honest about what was the best area and size! The prices were good! Both mine and my friends were $80 each which is there minimum (which might be more than some places but it's worth it)!! It's very clean and sanitized. They do an awesome job to make sure your tattoo comes out how you want it. We got our tattoos done by a rad guy named Ian! Don't forget to tip!! My wife and I walked in unknowingly an hour before the shop usually closes the night before we left Lake Tahoe. We had only vague ideas of what we wanted and Ian was the only artist there, but he took the time to work with us and figure out a good idea of what we had in mind, took about an hour to draw up a couple designs, and then two or three more hours total to tattoo us. We are both super happy with the end result--he does great work for a reasonable price and he and his wife were super genuine and friendly throughout the whole process. Made a spur of the moment decision to get matching tattoos with four pals to commemorate time spent together. Went into the new year with a mini black snowflake done by Ian. He gave us a group deal ($60) and was patient with everyone during the entire process (there were around 11 of us crammed into the tiny shop at one point!). The linework on the tattoo is done quite well. The entire tattoo took less than five minutes and Ian has a light hand (3.5/10 on the pain scale). My mom and I took a roadtrip up north from the Bay Area and we randomly popped in. No phone call and no appointment. Mel greeted us and was very approachable and friendly. She asked us what we wanted and immediately started brainstorming with us. She introduced me to Dylan and my mom to Ian. Dylan was GREAT! He was incredibly kind, had a sense of humor and was very particular about the placing of my tattoo on my arm. He even asked others in the shop for input and spent a good chunk of time before putting ink to skin. I appreciated that kind of dedication to his craft. Now, let me tell you, he has the *lightest* touch! Barely even felt anything and his lines are cleeeean. He undervalues himself, in my opinion. Definitely will be coming back :)Ian was GREAT with my mom. She got a memorial piece for her friend in the form of a crow. Ian spent a lot of time working with my mom on her design and she was thrilled. Hes very knowledgeable, funny, and a true delight (according to my mom). I thought he was a cool guy for being so sweet to my mom and working with her to the extent that he did. Overall, they tattoo amazingly and their shop is one of the best I've been in. The atmosphere of a shop is sometimes even more important than the art...and these guys knock both out of the park. I got a beautiful mother daughter and grandmother in heaven piece from Dylan and it was perfect! I teared up when I saw the design as it was so special and personal to me. Amazing work! The shop is very clean and the staff is very welcoming! Spent most of the weekend there because we just couldnt get enough. We are very happy with the entire experience. The staff is very clear about after care as well! Prices are legit also. 4 tattoos and 2 piercings and my boyfriend I are extremely happy! Raul was our artist but the whole staff was a part of the whole experience. And thank you Mel for the piercings! She made sure I was completely comfortable and was super fun! My wife and daughters went in to get matching feather tattoos. They were quoted $420 over the phone for all three. When they went in my wife reiterated the $420 and the guy up front said yes. Once all three were done. 2 were done by Joe (1 took 1 hour, 1 took 45 minutes), one was done by the guy with the beard. My wife paid $450 to give a tip and left. They call back and ask why she didn't pay the bearded guy. Joe says the $450 was just for his two tattoos. $210/hour? Lol is he Carlos Torres? He kept the money himself so my wife had to go back to give $100 to the bearded guy so he didn't get stiffed. Very unprofessional and very shady. The tattoos were ok quality, but not even worth $100/hour. Stay away or get it in writing up front. Read Less

Just got my first tattoo there on Mother's Day. Before I even mention the tattoo-The staff there is awesome. They assisted me through every part of my piece, from making sure I got what I wanted, to helping me with my breathing, an giving me a little sucker to help with the pain. I watched her open all of her sanitized tools and she kept her space neat and organized. The piercer they have, Mel, is the best and she's so quick with her needles to the point that you don't have time to fear the pain. She's pierced my nose, ears and nipples and each time with care. I have over a dozen tattoos that I've gotten done all over the country, from Hawaii to Massachusetts. I've been in all kinds of shops, run by all kinds of people. Cosmic Creations ranks right up there with the best of them.First, it's clean. Really clean. Second, we were greeted right away. Raoul helped us set our appointment for the following day with the owner, Joe. We paid a modest deposit after discussing the tattoos my sister and I were getting, and he quoted a fair price.The next day we showed up for our appt. and Joe was ready for us. We were having memorial tattoos to our mom who had passed almost 3 years ago done, words in our own handwriting. He worked with us to make certain the writing was large and legible enough that it wouldn't blend/bleed as we (and our tattoos) aged.Though the tattoos themselves may seem small and insignificant to others, for us, they are incredibly meaningful. I have no prior experience at a tattoo parlor but I would say this place met all of my expectations and then some. Quality work by Ian, and they fit four of us in at kinda the last minute. Accommodating, thorough, very clean and tidy business. I don't plan to get any more tattoos but I'd feel very comfortable referring someone here.In terms of the price, seemed pretty standard, but again, I haven't shopped around prior and this was only in relation to a friend's previous experience at another place. Last month I came here with a friend for tattoos and I wanted my hip tattoos touched up from fading. Ian redid my tats and took over 3 hours, charged me $300, and the art work was poorly done. Ian has very little experience. Prior tats took less than 2 hours and cost $200.I called the owner Joe the next 2 days to complain and he was out of the shop so I emailed him from his website email and no response. I then yelped twice and no response. When I finally got ahold of the owner he did some research called me back and accused me of lying, said my tats were botched to begin with, he was yelling and talking over me. Joe the owner is unprofessional and a bully. I sent him phone/email records and pics of tat. The owner did say he would fix my tats if I pulled my yelp post off. But after he bullied me, yelled at me, and accused me of lying when he is the unprofessional lying jerk. I'd rather pay to have someone normal fix my now fu**ed up tats. Read Less

We came here for the fist time 5 years ago. The shop was supposed to be closed but Joe, the owner, came in just for us! The work we got done then was awesome! We wanted to come back way before now and couldnt. It was totally worth the wait! We were very pleased to see Joe(on his day off), so we could get more work done by him. The price is very reasonable (not sure where others go if they think it's pricey), they are amazing people and very honest. He will tell you what will and won't work and will free hand stuff. These guys make you feel like instant fam bam. I'm not gonna lie, I was stalking this shop for a while on yelp! Our group planned a huge trip months back and I was looking for a 5star tattoo shop. I found Cosmic Creation and read all the reviews. Not one negative review. All happy people and loads of reference to the cleanliness of the shop and it's staff. Trust me, I've walked into some pretty nasty @$$ shops. Ricket inked me up and was extremely bad@$$ about it. He did way more than I was expecting. Kid you not, I can see the wheels in his mind turning as he worked on my tat. Is HOOOOOOKEDEDEDDEEDEDDED a word? Yeah that's what he did. Beyond my expectations! What a great experience! My girlfriend and I went in to get matching wrist tattoos and have found our new favorite shop. Eleanor did our tattoos, but I would certainly trust any artist in there. They immediately make you feel like they're your friends, the shop is very clean and they do fantastic work. It's pricey, but it's Tahoe and should be expected. Comming here was surprisingly a fun experience!, before going into Cosmic Creations I had no idea what to expect!. While we were walking to the shop, my friend and I were a little lost on where it was. Luckily, a local employee from a coffee shop close by was on his lunch break and lead us where to go!. For years now I have been talking about getting a tattoo, but every time I thought to go do it I would back down. Mind you, I am just shy of 50, so you can imagine how many times I have put this off.Not this time.When vacationing in Tahoo with my boyfriend we stopped by several places checking out the tattoos they had on the wall and the books. I knew what I wanted but nothing came close. We stopped in to Cosmic Creations and I spoke with them about what I had in mind. I threw a bit of an idea on a piece of scrap paper and showed it to Colby. Within five minutes he had the exact drawing I was looking for! My idea was coming together and I was excited.While Colby got everything set up, he handed me some colored pencils so I could show him exactly how I wanted it colored.
