My best friend (who is serving in the military) and I wanted to get tats together. We were desperate at Christmas to find someone because she was leaving the next day. Luckily Sadie Sue was able to get us in and give us exactly what we wanted. She's patient and won't push you to get something you'll regret. Yesterday I went back to add a little to my tat and she was able to see me in 30 mins. I am a baby when it comes to pain and Sadie has a very light hand and her line work... is amazing. Also, I wanted my conch pierced and while Sadie was drawing up my tat, Jamie was able to pierce me with no trouble. Great prices & great people ... Jayme is rad. Ive lost my septum piercing several times & replaced it several times buying my jewellry at different places. I'd actually bought jewellery at EM before & wasn't happy with the customer service (charged $20 for jewellery & then an unexpected $20 for helping me put it in ... help I didn't ask for & really didn't need). I'd vowed not to go back - but I've got a 2 month old son& live close & I'm short on time. Jayme not only gave me the lowest price I've ever been asked to pay (everyone else has asked $20) - he also offered to help put in my jewellery at no extra cost. Also said it's impossible to lose (got a ring instead of horseshoe) & said he'd replace it for free if I do lose it. Dude is righteous & now I'll be telling everyone about him. Jaime is rad. Ive bought jewellery all over Sonoma Co coz I lose my septum piercing a lot ... I went in to get new jewellery & he charged me about 1/2 the cost of what I've paid at a half dozen other places (except for Hole Thing in Rosa which has fair prices & a rad lady named Kelly ... but everywhere else Ive been is overpriced). He suggested I change to a ring from a horseshoe so that I don't continue to lose it & also gave his word that if I do lose it he will replace it for free. To top off this winning customer service experience he also offered to put it in without charge. I'd had a bad experience with a piercer there overcharging me about a year ago & Id sworn to never go back - lucky for me I was short on time & it was on my way so I stopped in & met Jaime. Cris did my tattoo and was great. Iove the tattoo but wasn't completely happy with the flower color at first, went back and he adjusted the color (no charge). I love my tattoo and would recommend Cris. He does great work and was easy to talk to. Totally understood what I wanted. Also, my daughter got an industrial piercing from Jaime and he was also great. Back in February, Jaime repeirced my nipples. This is by far the best piercing I have had done, they healed perfectly and had no issues what so ever. I came back in a few days ago and he not only pierced my ears, he also re opened my tongue piercing, which had nearly closed up. This shop used to be my go-to for piercings. I came back to Santa Rosa after being away a while, and the old piercer was gone and there was a new guy. Unfortunately we had a pretty bad experience. I Took a friend here to get her first cartilage piercing, and I got my forward helix done as well. I was very disappointed in our experience at this shop. My friend was clearly nervous, and he had her sit up straight while he pierced. The actual piercing process was slow and fumble...y, causing her way more pain than necessary. Though she was clearly shaking and freaked out, he didn't walk her through any of the steps he was taking. She had to lie down after and nearly passed out. Next was my helix piercing. Now I've had a few piercings done and stretched in various areas in my life. And this helix piercing was the most painful piercing I've experienced to date. Again the process was slow, and he was silent the whole way through. Two days later, the piercing still hurts like a bitch. I looked in the mirror today, and the jewelry he used doesn't really fit in the area he pierced. The back end is pressed against a ridge in my ear, causing the whole bar to angle up and put pressure on the fresh piercing. I hate to leave bad reviews, but this was worth speaking up about. I had been wanting to get my septum pierced for months. Well, I decided today was the day. I checked Yelp and saw all the great reviews and the 25% off a body piercing deal, I decided this is where I'm going. I walked in and was seen by Jamie right away. I had some questions and he was very helpful and clear. He checked out my nose for me beforehand to make sure I could get exactly what I wanted. He took his time trying to make the piercing even with my nose and explained all his steps to me. I wanted a different ring once it healed and he offered to help me measure my nose and get a custom ring if needed to get what I want. He was super helpful. Wow piercings hurt! I came in and was seated right away for a cartilage and lobe piercing. The piercer did an amazing job keeping everything clean and sanitary. I was so nervous but it went well, I love my new piercings. It hurt really bad but I just have a low pain tolerance. If you want a piercing or tattoo, just do it! Erik is a new tattoo artist that I tried also a new shop Electric Monk. I went in to have a piece done on my left forearm. Erik had an amazing vibe he appreciated me taking my tattoos serious and being involved in the process. We worked out all of the details and got my tattoo done.I enjoyed his attention to detail and his willingness to accommodate my needs. The atmosphere in the shop was also great. Came in as moral support for a friend getting her nips pierced. I had an awesome time chatting up the lady who was up front. Found out she doesn't even work there.. Just a good friend of some of the folks who do. She was answering phones and greeting customers, which was really awesome to see, her supporting her friends' business like that. I can't speak for the tattoo artists and their work, but Jess, who did my friend's piercing, was very thorough and professional. If I wasn't so loyal to my tattoo artist elsewhere, I would look into some of the artists here for my next one. However, I'd absolutely come here for piercings and recommend others to as well. I had a really great experience at Electric Monk. Mike worked with me on designing a California poppy tattoo, and not only did we agree on a lot of design points right off the bat, but I could tell I could trust him in taking the lead on what to put on my body - and he exceeded all expectations. He really listened to what I said about what I wanted and ran with it. I felt like he liked what I wanted, and was as excited about the tattoo as I was. He was a great communicator all the way through the process, and their rates are more than fair - especially for the incredible value.I've been getting a lot of compliments on the tattoo, and it's not even finished yet. Getting a new tattoo has been on the top of my to do list for quite sometime. But as someone would expect when embarking on an adventure that leads to a permanent change on their body they want it to be perfect. So, off I went in search for the perfect tattoo artist. I already have a apple blossom tattooed behind one of my ears that I absolutely adore. It's girly, and unique two muse halves for any tattoo I receive. My new tattoo I planned to be behind my other ear and wanted it to 'match' in design with my apple blossom. Only problem is the tattoo artist who did my blossom is 8 hours away. Destiny intervened one night at the the Wednesday night market. I saw a booth for electric monk tattoo and decided why not check it out. I noticed Paul had a ton of tattoos with the watercolor look that I love. I too his card and promised myself to save up enough for my new tattooWhen my friend and I who planned to get matching tattoos finally had enough cash we called Paul up. He was sweet and kind, and not pushy in any way. Huge plus! I hate when tattoo artists don't listen to you and do their own personal taste. Not only did Paul listen to what he wanted he communicated easily with us by sending us pictures of his sketches. When the day came of we were both anxious but so pleased with the results. For 80 dollars each we ended up with beautiful snap pea tattoos behind our ears. My only real issue (hence the loss of one star) is we made an appointment for 11am but waited over thirty minutes to begin getting tattooed since he didn't have everything set up. Read Less
