I had the pleasure of working with Tim today. I have multiple tattoos but this was the first one in my ribcage and I was a little worried because I've heard ribcage tattoos are really painful. I was really pleasantly surprised and it didn't hurt nearly as much as I was anticipating. This tattoo was a tribute to my dog that passed away recently. If you have friends that are tattooist they work together to deny tattoos and discriminate against people and there own body's if the previous tattooist is partial to the work they will not work on you no matter how much money! So tattoo code is like a gangster code what a joke now I have to go up north again and with an unfinished tattoo from Brian Kasperion and now still life is friends with him so he told them to not finish my arm because he has a personal issue with me how horrible is it to treat people this way! My uncle and I made appointments with Damien for our first tattoos. The shop is decorated super cool, with art work all over the walls and a Damien was really nice and reassuring. I've been following Damien King on his IG (thekingsfury) for sometime now. He posted a painting for sell that I fell in love with and decided I'd rather have it on my leg than my wall. I contacted him and he was able to fit me in is schedule pretty quickly. When I showed up to the shop I was a little nervous walking up the stairs, but Damien was such a sweetheart that I forgot he was about to draw on me with needles. The whole staff was great! At one point fellow tattooer Ben, came over and gave Damien some kind words about the progression of my tattoo. I'm not sure if it's a normal occurrence at Still Life Tattoo, but Long Beach legend Opie Ortiz serenaded us with the sweet sounds of Rastafari and even altered some of the lyrics to make the song about Damien. It was great to be in such a relaxing environment and to see my artist supported by his peers and just to be part of the friendly banter that was going on. Damien was professional and friendly the whole time, telling cool stories and asking about how I was doing.  The best part about my whole experience is when I got home, I followed the after care tips and my tattoo still looks Great! Keith's amazing. Besides his stunning personality (sarcasm) and super sweet attitude (sarcasm), but in all truth his work speaks for itself. He's done my elephant on my ribs and we just finished a huge thigh piece. Plus for giggles he tattooed a tiny adorable elephant on my finger. He takes his time, doesn't rush any of his appointments, and does a thorough job. His lines are clean, color bright, and pieces detail oriented. I will keep going to him until I have no skin left! This is a great tattoo shop, very clean and everyone is super friendly and knows what they are doing. Lucky did my tattoos. It was my first time ever getting tatted and I got 3 small ones. A girls day was turned up a notch when we decided on the fly that tattoos were in order. Being that it was my first I was nervous but once inside, Damien greeted us and immediately set me at ease. His vibe and professionalism were amazing. The whole experience was awesome! I got exactly what I wanted and it looks better than I ever could have imagined! The shop itself had a cool, classic, socal vibe. It was clean and fresh with a vintage flair that felt nostalgic. Even the music fit perfectly. The energy was so right that it's hard to even articulate. I couldn't have asked for a better artist or better setting for my first tattoo. Went here on a spur of the moment thing with my two friends. We meet Damien, he was nice and polite. When I showed him my tattoo off of google, he asked me to send him the picture. He came back with a better sketch then what I had plan. I was a little nervous about getting it near my ankle but he was calm and cool about it and said more than once that it would be ok and it wouldn't hurt. His calmness made me feel better about it. Walked in today on my lunch break due to the amazing reviews to get a quote and appointment on a very simple tattoo I was getting to honor home and match my siblings! Mr. Fitzgerald told me it would only take 5 min so why not do it right then and there! (he wasn't kidding it took 5 min!) to say the least I am over the moon about the outcome! Very clean lines and in the perfect spot and size! And a very reasonable price! My sibs got there's in Minneapolis and it was $100! Thinking oh I'm in Cali this will be more! No!!!! $80! I wanted to get a cover up over an old pair of shears that I been intending to fix. So I came here with an idea for a Star Wars ship to cover it. what I didn't realize is how awesome it was going look at the end. here is a picture of the shears, the outline, and the final product.
