I am so glad I came across Monkey Wrench! By far the best tattoo shop I've been to! Wes did three of my tattoos and I couldn't be happier! Both times I called in very last minute and he was able to squeeze me in. Forever thankful that he was able to cover up my ugliest tattoo. Highly recommend this shop if you want a super rad tattoo with the positive experience!

I got a tattoo done by Jesse last week and I am really happy with it! I didn't have an appointment, but walked in and Jesse was super friendly and helpful. I had to run to an ATM to get cash ($80 minimum, at least as of last week), and Jesse printed me some fonts to pick from while I was gone.All told, I was in and out in less than an hour. Jesse chatted casually with me and my friend while he was working and asked if I wanted to take a picture before he covered it up. He's got you so you can make your Instagram post!I thought the shop was clean and nice. It's a bit hard to find -- second floor or a little building, but you'll be rewarded for the effort.I didn't see Jesse's name on the website, but ask for him! I really liked him, and I think I'll be back for another piece.

Nineteen years ago I got my second tattoo at the previous incarnation of Monkey Wrench in Santa Rosa, & I was interested to see how the shop and artists have changed since then. Two days ago, I called the shop & spoke to Wes who was both kind and professional, & he encouraged me to come to the shop to book or be tattooed since appointments require deposits. Before going in, I went to the website to check out the art (which is clearly skilled), but what really caught my attention were the hilarious artist bios. Go to the website. Read the bios. Seriously, it'll make your day. Yesterday when I got to the shop in its current incarnation, I was hoping to book my 9th tattoo. I walked in & the shop was bright, clean, full of art, & the shop's sense of humor was apparent in signage as well. All tables were full except for one. Monet greeted me, & luckily she was available for a small tattoo. I wanted a raspberry to match my daughter's birthmark, & Monet was easy to talk to in relationship to my desired details for the quarter sized piece. Monet tattooed with a light hand, and her work was clean, precise, & exactly what I wanted. It was an overall pleasant process, & I felt more than happy with the customer service, facilities, process, & tattoo. Side note, bring cash as it's a cash only studio. Oops, I messed up & had to run to an ATM.

I've been to a lot of shops in Santa Rosa and this ones been my fav. Shop prices are the best I've found. The artists are great at making you feel comfortable and explain aftercare instructions well. Great space, very clean, lots if Jerry Sloan light. Everyone is super laidback and the vibe was awesome. I had Wes Anderson for a walk-in piece and he did a fantastic job, super happy with how it turned out. Looked through a lot of the artists portfolios and you'll be in good hands no matter who you choose. Definitely will be coming back in a couple weeks.

Had a fantastic experience!! I am visiting from out of town and my sister, partner and I were in the mood for spur of the moment tattoos. Monkey wrench came up on my search for tattoo shops near me. I called and the fella on the phone was very friendly and let me know it was first come first serve but they would be happy to see us and get us squared away. Showed up and was greeted by big smiles and happy disposition by staff. I forgot his name . Said he could get us going no problem. Showed him my photo and he drew up a beautiful piece in no time! I even loved that another artist came around and started joking around with my partner. Very friendly environment. I loved that I didn't feel pressured at all. They were able to see all three of us. LOVE my new tattoo. Easily one of my favorites . Will have to return for more next time I'm in town! Thanks y'all!!

This is a great shop and I won't go anywhere else for tattoos. It is clean, they are friendly, attentive, and good at what they do.I have gotten two tattoos from Monet, one was a cover up on my foot, and the other was an original piece on my back. Not only is she a complete sweetheart, she is also an amazing artist, fast, and professional. She makes the process and painless and comfortable as possible all things considered. Both times, the end result has been amazing. I highly recommend the shop in general and Monet specifically for your tattoo needs!

First time here and I was super impressed. Shop is clean, warm, and inviting. Wes came highly recommended from a good friend. He did a great job on a cover up I wanted/needed on my hip bone. Super sensitive place but he has a soft hand, entire piece, from start to finish, was less than an hour. We chatted briefly about the next one and I can't wait!

Monkey Wrench is the ideal shop to get a tattoo! Not only do they do clean, intricate, beautiful work; they are quick, personable, reasonably priced, professional, and sanitary. Wes Andersen (owner) has done a few pieces on me and pieces on my friends and family. He is an extremely talented artist whom I always fully trust to draw an amazing piece for me. He has a trained eye, great sense of placement, size, color, and shading. You will never regret getting a tattoo from this business!

Fantastic shop! I mentioned to a friend that I wanted to get some more work done, and he called Wes, who scheduled me in for the following week. Excellent shop, friendly laid back folks, and the price was excellent. I recently called to get a touchup done as one little corner wasn't quite right, and Wes had me swing by for a five minute fix and it's perfect. Highly recommended. Voted Best of Sonoma County for a reason!

I got a gorgeous crown with shading on my side/hip area done by Wes. Not only did he totally put me at ease, but the custom design was awesome and made me feel like he really wanted to give me a quality original piece of work. I was also impressed by the cleanliness of the shop! Painful and time consuming, yes, but the quality and cleanliness of work you are getting for your money is simply unmatched. It's been a few weeks now and it's healed amazingly, no discomfort or sketchy peeling/irritation. I absolutely love my ink from Wes; he is a talented artist and did an amazing job! Definitely will be returning; check this place out for guaranteed beautiful work and the utmost cleanliness and quality.

I would say I am kind of a difficult client, I'm very picky. I wasnt sure about what exactly I wanted but had an idea and Wes brought my dream to life. The tattoo I wanted was very sentimental to me, a partial cover up and fixing a old tattoo as well as kind of large. He was quick and it is absolutely amazing!!!!! Have been a client of monkey wrench many years. Joe sold the shop and I was not sure about going back without knowing the new owner and his style. I have since seen several pieces done by Wes Anderson and decided to give him a try. It was just a small area that was left over from a sleeve Joe was doing but Wes put it down and completed the work nicely. Highly recommended. We will be seeing a lot more from Wes. I started coming to this shop probably 3 years ago if not more... Getting tattooed by an artist who is no longer located at this shop... In saying that I had always watched and admired Monet, watching her work walk out while I was getting work done. When the artist I originally went to left the shop I took it as my opportunity to finally ask if she could do my sleeves I've wanted for 10+ years. I'm happy to say that she has been working on my sleeve for about 4 months now if not more and it is turning out even more amazing than I expected! At the moment we're working on my nautical sleeve and she got every little thing I wanted on my arm the color is finally coming in and all I can say is WOW! Such talent! I can't wait for it to be finished! Then we move on to my other sleeve (in the sky! ) Painful and time consuming but worth it! I always have a good time in the shop laughing while grunting at times haha Everyone at this shop is talented and sweet I just know I found my artist... Monet... Who I would call... The best! great personality, makes you feel comfortable, listens to what you want, honest and kind what else could you ask for in a tattoo artist? Go! You won't be disappointed with whoever you choose from this shop!

For my birthday a few months later, my buddy returned the favor, only this time "with my own style." I told Joe: "I like cybernetics, terminator, Giger stuff, alie..." "Stop. I got this." He came back a few minutes later with a rough sketch that looked very cool .. but the final piece .. *a lot of it done freehand* was f$#king _amazing_. If I get any more ink, they'll be the first (and only) place I'll be going. Very, very happy with the results (and my friend was too!)

Clean, professional, fun is how I describe my first visit. Zero pressure from the staff. It was nice listening to Howling Wolf, Janis, Neil Young, and others versus the metal and punk that I'm used to. (I love my loud music, but sometimes it's nice to just chill when getting some work done.) The banter back and forth was excellent, and Monet really put me at ease and put her vision into a pre-existing yet unfinished piece. I can't wait to go back for some original work.

The biggest thing for me was how unpretentious they were- which is hard to find in some tattoo and piercing shops. I always feel welcome here, and while I waited for the piercer, the guy running the shop chatted with me and was super laid back.The piercer, i think his name is Neil, was also very laid back and funny. He put me at ease and took his time with placing the piercing so it looked just right.Go to these guys!

From what I saw, whatever style you want can be done. The price was fair for the work done. I gave my trust to the artist and he came up with a design that was better than anything I could have come up with. Great place, can't wait to go back!

I have had Jenn do 18 of my 21 tattoos, she is so wonderful!! She gets work done quickly and I am always over-the-top impressed with everything. No matter what I expect to come of my tattoos, she always makes them more amazing than I imagined. I have given her some creative freedom with a couple of them and she always impresses me. The shop is clean, the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. I also got my naval pierced by Neil back in 2004, and even though I HATE getting pierced, he made me feel comfortable and everything went well. I live in Colorado now, but still plan on making appointments at Monkey Wrench whenever I make visits to CA!

I wanted a raspberry to match my daughter's birthmark, & Monet was easy to talk to in relationship to my desired details for the quarter sized piece. Monet tattooed with a light hand, and her work was clean, precise, & exactly what I wanted. It was an overall pleasant process, & I felt more than happy with the customer service, facilities, process, & tattoo. Side note, bring cash as it's a cash only studio. Oops, I messed up & had to run to an ATM.

I've been to a lot of shops in Santa Rosa and this ones been my fav. Shop prices are the best I've found. The artists are great at making you feel comfortable and explain aftercare instructions well. Great space, very clean, lots if Jerry Sloan light. Everyone is super laidback and the vibe was awesome. I had Wes Anderson for a walk-in piece and he did a fantastic job, super happy with how it turned out. Looked through a lot of the artists portfolios and you'll be in good hands no matter who you choose. Definitely will be coming back in a couple weeks.

Had a fantastic experience!! I am visiting from out of town and my sister, partner and I were in the mood for spur of the moment tattoos. Monkey wrench came up on my search for tattoo shops near me. I called and the fella on the phone was very friendly and let me know it was first come first serve but they would be happy to see us and get us squared away. Showed up and was greeted by big smiles and happy disposition by staff. I forgot his name . Said he could get us going no problem. Showed him my photo and he drew up a beautiful piece in no time! I even loved that another artist came around and started joking around with my partner. Very friendly environment. I loved that I didn't feel pressured at all. They were able to see all three of us. LOVE my new tattoo. Easily one of my favorites . Will have to return for more next time I'm in town! Thanks y'all!!

Not only is she a complete sweetheart, she is also an amazing artist, fast, and professional. She makes the process and painless and comfortable as possible all things considered. Both times, the end result has been amazing. I highly recommend the shop in general and Monet specifically for your tattoo needs!

I recently called to get a touchup done as one little corner wasn't quite right, and Wes had me swing by for a five minute fix and it's perfect. Highly recommended. I was also impressed by the cleanliness of the shop! Painful and time consuming, yes, but the quality and cleanliness of work you are getting for your money is simply unmatched. It's been a few weeks now and it's healed amazingly, no discomfort or sketchy peeling/irritation. I absolutely love my ink from Wes; he is a talented artist and did an amazing job! I started coming to this shop probably 3 years ago if not more... Getting tattooed by an artist who is no longer located at this shop... In saying that I had always watched and admired Monet, watching her work walk out while I was getting work done. When the artist I originally went to left the shop I took it as my opportunity to finally ask if she could do my sleeves I've wanted for 10+ years. I'm happy to say that she has been working on my sleeve for about 4 months now if not more and it is turning out even more amazing than I expected! At the moment we're working on my nautical sleeve and she got every little thing I wanted on my arm the color is finally coming in and all I can say is WOW! Such talent! I can't wait for it to be finished! Then we move on to my other sleeve (in the sky! ) Painful and time consuming but worth it! I always have a good time in the shop laughing while grunting at times haha Everyone at this shop is talented and sweet I just know I found my artist... Monet... Who I would call... The best! great personality, makes you feel comfortable, listens to what you want, honest and kind what else could you ask for in a tattoo artist? Go! You won't be disappointed with whoever you choose from this shop!

For my birthday a few months later, my buddy returned the favor, only this time "with my own style." I told Joe: "I like cybernetics, terminator, Giger stuff, alie..." "Stop. I got this." He came back a few minutes later with a rough sketch that looked very cool .. but the final piece .. *a lot of it done freehand* was f$#king _amazing_. If I get any more ink, they'll be the first (and only) place I'll be going. Very, very happy with the results (and my friend was too!)

Clean, professional, fun is how I describe my first visit. Zero pressure from the staff. It was nice listening to Howling Wolf, Janis, Neil Young, and others versus the metal and punk that I'm used to. (I love my loud music, but sometimes it's nice to just chill when getting some work done.) The banter back and forth was excellent, and Monet really put me at ease and put her vision into a pre-existing yet unfinished piece. I can't wait to go back for some original work.

I always feel welcome here, and while I waited for the piercer, the guy running the shop chatted with me and was super laid back.The piercer, i think his name is Neil, was also very laid back and funny. He put me at ease and took his time with placing the piercing so it looked just right.Go to these guys!

I have had Jenn do 18 of my 21 tattoos, she is so wonderful!! She gets work done quickly and I am always over-the-top impressed with everything. No matter what I expect to come of my tattoos, she always makes them more amazing than I imagined. I have given her some creative freedom with a couple of them and she always impresses me. The shop is clean, the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. I also got my naval pierced by Neil back in 2004, and even though I HATE getting pierced, he made me feel comfortable and everything went well. I live in Colorado now, but still plan on making appointments at Monkey Wrench whenever I make visits to CA!
