Cannot say enough about Loren. He was doing a small to medium piece for me, and his attention to detail was superb. He took the time to make the outline precisely correct, and then put it on three separate times to make sure it was -perfectly- lined up. Took about two hours, and had a great conversation with him about the history of the art. Also, the shop and equipment were super clean, well maintained, and the staff were pros. I got my first tattoo here a few weeks ago, and I was very pleased. I had been pretty nervous, but the artist went over details about what to expect that was helpful. I had drawn the tattoo myself, so he provided several better versions of the basic shape for me to choose from. I was surprised by how little it hurt, and it healed perfectly. Great experience! I am from out of town and called them to make an appt before leaving for vacation. I am super impressed! They got me in right in the same week, shop is beautiful and super clean and they knew right who i was when i went in prior to appointment so they could have a face before appt. Alfonso did my tatt which was done free hand and he worked very fast but very precise. This is by far my best tattoo and artist, shop experience. I would recommend them 100 times over to everyone! I had a piece done by Amanda, and she is AMAZING! I cannot stop staring at my new artwork, and I am so so so happy I did my research and waited for her to be available. She was about 2 months out, but it was well worth the wait. She is super personable, an amazing artist, and gave me exactly what I wanted. I had a Dali elephant done on my inner forearm. It is a small space to put the kind of detail the art requires, and she executed it perfectly. It is beautiful. She was meticulous and made sure I was happy throughout our session together. She is also just a really nice person to talk to. I was a little nervous, since I hadn't had a tattoo done in 10 years, and she put me at ease immediately. I felt like I was just chatting with my friend the entire time. She gave me all the aftercare products I needed, and answered every single question I asked.I highly recommend her to anyone. The woman at the front desk is hilarious--she was making me laugh within 45 seconds of being in the door. My entire experience with this shop was above and beyond what I was expecting. I just got a tattoo on the side of my left ribs and I am beyond happy with how it came out. Loren Butchart designed the tattoo and  then was happy to make adjustments. Am I happy with the outcome NO wish it would have been a better experience but it wasn't I've been going back and forth thinking if I should put this review but once I found the receipts it really pissed me off.. When I made the appointment to get my Tattoo with Amanda I had semi drawn what I wanted. She told me it was going to be $100 so I left $50 for deposit. When I arrived for my actual appointment to get it done she showed me what she had drawn. Unfortunately I didn't like it. So I showed her another option to which she wasn't so happy already that I didn't like what she had drawn. She showed me the next drawing that she had done. I was a little happier with it with the 3 paw prints inside the heart with my dogs iniciales. I also told her if she could please add a foot. The FOOT means a lot to me it's not me. It was a representative of all my "kids" anyway. She was done very quickly. When I had to go and pay I was thinking ok.. $50 more.. when the receptionist said $80 I was like wait what? I thought I had given $50 but maybe I had forgotten and given less. So I paid... a few days ago I found both receipts. The one for the deposit $50 and the other for $80 which says shops minimum $75 and a tip ( keep in mind I didn't say to leave a tip) $5. If she would have been nicer and not trying to push me out of the shop as soon as possible and done a good job with the tattoo I would be giving a better review on her. Not only do I have a bad tattoo with a foot that looks like penis. But the paws don't look like paws ether. Read Less

Glass Beetle is one of the cleanest and well ran tattoo shops I've had work done at. Alonso does amazing line work and is a great dude. I am definatly going back there for my next one. I messaged them today a Monday that i didn't realize they were closed on and got super lucky that Alfonso happened to be in there drawing some other stuff up. 2 hours later I was in the chair getting an awesome piece done..on his day off. Jared (even with the monotone sarcasm) was super patient with us, 4 walk-ins, that wanted itty bitty tattoos. We found out, after 30 minutes (at least, if not more), that it would take too long for him to ink all four of us. He had already sketched out everything that we wanted (great sketches!!!) but recommended another parlor for us to go to in order to stay on schedule. Very clean and professional. I came as a walk in with a simple idea and was in and out in less than an hour! I just moved to Santa Rosa and was looking for a place to return to, I will definitely be back in the future. They even gave me a whole bottle of ointment and an awesome sticker for free, which is more than I can say about the places I've been previously. Great price for great art, keep up the good work! Omg love this place! The vibe of the shop is great. It's a really clean shop. The music is a good selection and not too loud like some shops. Loren did an amazing job on my tattoo. I absolutely love my tattoo. I have a nerve disorder and he was so patient with me and my extra twitching. He got exactly what I wanted into one tattoo.
