First off, I've been meaning to come on here and write a review for Andre and Eternal Art but I'm a massive procrastinator and never got around to it. But seeing Sarah B.'s ridiculous post helped motivate me. I was at Eternal Art until about 7:20 that day. I had been there since noon getting another piece on my arm from Andre. Which turned out AMAZING as always. Andre, Spencer, Kayla, and Nesto were all there that day and I always have a blast with them. They're super friendly and professional. This is my favorite shop in Sonoma county. I have been going here for about 7 years and have never had a bad experience. Everybody is super knowledgeable and talented and every tattoo I have received exceeded my expectations. Spencer was super friendly. Spent all the time I wanted to feel he understood what i wanted. He had me all the way up to the point that I was told i couldn't take the art with me, if I changed my mind about getting inked. As an artist myself, having worked under intellectual property constraints, meaning when i do a project for which i am paid, the project doesn't belong to me, it belongs to the client. That wasn't okay. This is not how i do business. It was enough for me to decide .. not to do business with the shop. however on my way out i was still undecided - i told Spencer, that I would get back to him either way. I called back to let him know i would not be returning and why. I got his brother instead ... i made my case for why i wouldnt be returning and i got told i was wrong. voices were raised until i ask him if he would like me to charge him for my time he was wasting arguing my point with me. Now, there seems to be a confusion about the nature of my review ... i chose not to do business with you NOT because of the experience i had in the shop the shop experience was GREAT. Your policy is not how i do business. The shop owner is absolutely within his rights to have the policy as i am to not do business with you over it. A policy where i am paying for something that I cant keep [even when it includes design elements I hold the copyright to], is why I am not coming back. My mom is over the moon with her tattoos, and I was very happy that he easily put her mind at rest. I got a tattoo done by Nestor and he was great! He made me feel welcome when I came in and was understanding of my nervousness. I got a small tattoo on my forearm and it didn't even hurt that much! Although there wasn't very much pain I felt very light headed for a little bit and he let me take a break and gave me a lollipop to bring my blood sugar up. This shows that he truly cares about his clients and wants their experience to be a pleasant one. My first tattoo experience at another shop was done by a person with a heavy hand and it made me not want another tattoo. Getting a tattoo done by Nestor makes getting another tattoo less scary and I may even get another one in the future. This review is long overdue, so Troy if you see this, i am sorry my man, but here's your awesome review..I got my 1st tattoo almost a year ago now. I came on Yelp looking for some incite & found multiple raves for Troy Harper at Eternal. I checked FB for pics of his work. I liked what I saw & hit him up. We set up a consult. I was very nervous as it was my 1st but it was also very personal as it was a memorial for my dad. From the very beginning Troy made me feel comfortable. He listened to my ideas & concerns & told me not to be afraid to ask him to tweak sketches, even if it's last minute. Troy has a light hand if you are concerned about that. In the end I came out w/ a beautiful memoriam tatt for my dad that not only I love but people of all ages give me compliments on. I have been going to this Shop for many many years now. I have never been dis-satisfied with any of my Ink work, and have always had a warm welcoming when I enter through those doors. Dre & Spencer both have tattooed me, they have done remarkable jobs covering up some tattoo's I got when I was teen that I was literally ashamed of!! I have almost completed my sleeve, and plan on getting much more.! The Prices are not sky high, and the Artists will go out of their way to make sure you get what you want and are happy with the results!! My sister and I went into another shop, having an appointment, and were not greeted. When we told them what we were there for and showed a pic of what we wanted the vibe was totally bad. I have worked with several different artists in the past.   Most of them were recommended to me and did decent work.   I decided to contact Troy for my most recent piece because I have always enjoyed his art work.   I couldn't be more thrilled with the way that it turned out.   We were able to brain storm a concept and took it to a place my mind could not have imagined.   Troy has a great hand and does not feel like he is drilling into you like I have experienced with other artists.   A year later my ink looks as fresh as it did when it first healed.    I will never go to another artist to get work done again.   Between my experience with Troy the several pieces he has done on my girlfriend to what I have seen on other people.   I truly believe that once more people find out about him he will be one of the premiere artist in the entire bay area. SOOO happy with my first tattoo!!! I researched places around Sonoma County for over a year, and when I came to this place I finally felt comfortable when I met Andre... I felt like he would be the perfect person to create a flower on my stomach so I booked my appointment and did it! I am sooo happy with the results. :-) The experience was 1-2-3 (he eased the pain and was totally efficient), he did a quality job, highly focused on making the design look great, and very sweet person. The line work and the coloring/shading of the tattoo looks amazing. I loved the way he drew the flower and took care of me. The price was sooo reasonable!
