I haven't been tattooed here, but I had to share my experience at Triton a week ago. I went in for a consultation on a possible rework of a tattoo that I'm not 100% satisfied with, and Jeff Noyce came in during an evening off to meet with me. He took care to be respectful of the artist who did the piece, but also patient and thoughtful about my feelings about it. I ended up getting surprisingly emotional, and he, Drew and Dom (who all had to witness my embarrassment) were all so kind and understanding. Dom, who greeted me at the door, is the shop's new apprentice, and she was so friendly and welcoming - big props to her for a great first impression of Triton. And Jeff is clearly an excellent mentor, as he used aspects of my tattoo as a learning experience for her. He was realistic about my expectations, and I really appreciated the time he took to walk through the options with me. His energy is awesome, and I can see why there are so many happy customers here reviewing his work. Tucked away in an unsuspecting part of Santa Cruz, I never expected to find such amazing talent. This was my third tattoo, and honestly I regret not getting my other two here. All of the workers are so kind and funny, and during my almost four hour tattoo session I had some great conversation with my tattoo artist, Drew. Drew absolutely nailed this tattoo, and it was entirely his own creative genius that makes this tattoo my favorite to date. You'd think he had been tattooing for half of his life because of the sheer talent this dude possesses. Just so happens that Andrew took my call and was able to get me an appointment right alway. Andrew was very professional! I sent some pictures of what I was wanting and he got right on it and was able to to put it all together beautifully. The day of my appointment I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the shop and all of the staff and customers were very polite. I felt comfortable right away. Originally, I wandered in wanting just a few touch-ups. The black on my ankle was 12y.o. and quite faded. Andrew Nelson, the slippery slope, is a visionary and accommodative! We dreamt in color!!! The back of my ankle was done in four segments, no pre-planning or scheduling: all spur of the moment! I couldn't have been more pleased (: I also got a couple hand adornments as a reminder to myself, just be kind. Hahah, almost forgot, I started a cover-up with Drew... my quarter-sized Pisces symbol grew into a couple of coy with a lotus and star-gazer lily. Love this studio so much! The artists are super sweet and attentive, the place is clean, and both of the tattoos I got done here are definitely reasonably-priced. Drew did both my quote and skeleton tattoo and was super communicative about what I thought of the tattoo before laying down the stencil. Getting tattooed is an intimate experience for most art collectors. I personally want my artist to be 1. Kind and compassionate. I am fully aware that a lot of people who want to get tattooed have these unrealistic ideas, but we don't want to be put down or talked to like we're stupid. Jeff is one of the kindest, caring and makes you feel as though your ideas matter and makes suggestions to help make your ideas work and fit the body appropriately. 2.No one wants to be tattooed by an arrogant ass artist with a God Complex. Ross did a beautiful bee tat for me in March for my birthday. I came in with a rough drawing and some ideas and eh incorporated them beautifully into the start of my sleeve. I couldn't be happier. He was very professional, courteous, and timely. I didn't feel rushed, and he was meticulous in each detail on every piece. The shop is clean, and you can definitely tell that it's cared for. I was so impressed with skill and efficiency of the artists considering they had pages of people's names wanting to get work done. Have known Jeff Noyce for a few years after a friend took me to his old shop in Oakdale area and have never trusted any other artist since. Not only is his work AMAZING  ( the cleanest straightest lines I've ever seen) but he is super chill and flexible. Uses great color and I still have people asking about my piece on my arm asking if it's new ( it's over 5 years old). I don't live so close to his new shop but hands down he is worth the trip for me. By some mircale I met Jeff unexpectedly one day and he gave me his card. A year later I called him and came into his shop, he created a cover up tattoo for me that was just amazing! These guys are the best! I have 10 tattoos, 4/10 are from 4 different shops and Triton is the only one I'll be coming back to. I got my first tattoo from Jeff for my first Friday the 13th event. He did AMAZING, and I even decided to get 2 tattoos that day. Next was I got a heart with a ribbon for a disease I have, and I went to Kindra. Let me tell you how freaking awesome she is! Over a bit of time, the tattoo needed to be touched up some, and Kindra is willing to do it in a heart beat next time I go in! I wish I could give this 10 stars!!!After hearing great things about Addison, I made an appointment with him at Triton for my First Tattoo. It's a custom, complex, symbol that Addison eagerly took on as his own project and took the time to make several versions until he was satisfied with a final design. I was impressed with not only his level of artistic skill, but patience and commitment when it came to customer service in that he wanted to make sure I was happy with the direction he would take each version. His creativity added exactly what my idea needed and he ultimately came up with a design that has thus far and will continue to change my life. He was able to take my basis of an idea and transform it into a symbolic piece of beautiful art.He made the experience pleasant considering what I had heard about getting first tattoos done, and especially in the abdomen area. Healing thus far has been great and he has checked up to make sure I am healing as expected. After the tattoo, we grabbed dinner and went out in Santa Cruz - which showed me even further what an exceptional individual Addison is!!If you're thinking about getting a tattoo, make an appointment with Addison, and if you already have some then get more from Addi. I had been meaning to review Triton for awhile. Jeff is awesome and my friend Chelsea had recommended him so there were never any doubts. I wanted a watercolor seashell and he performed to a "T".Also, they pick up there shop phone. Unlike Black Pearl. They suck. I only called them because I called Triton first and they weren't doing piercings at the time, however they picked up and were helpful. I found him on Facebook (a friend suggested I check his artwork out) and after looking through his pictures I decided to friend request him. Then sent him a message about what I wanted to get. He responded within an hour, and we set up an appointment. When we got to the shop he immediately welcomed us. As mentioned earlier the shop was spotless. He set up and started tattooing right away.
