Just look at his Tattoo's and glass sculpture on his website, they are on a different level. I wanted an artist to work on several large projects and we have already completed one of my sleeves. Man, it's easiest just to pile on and say that all the consistent 5 Star Yelp reviews accurately reflect the great business Brayton has built here locally....The shop is comfortable, and Brayton is a true artist, he's down for perfectly applying your concept or free handing on the fly. After looking at his work and his video clips online, I knew Brayton was the artist I needed to get my first tattoo. I wish I could rate Brayton above a 5 star review. When you get your tattoo done by Brayton, you're also getting a phenomenal artist creating a beautiful work of art on your body. I had been looking for about a year to find an artist who could do realistic styled flowers on my back and shoulder in honor of my mom fighting breast cancer. I met a previous client of his, and immediately fell in love with her flowered tattoo. I texted Brayton and drove down to Santa Cruz to have my consultation. I let Brayton know what I wanted, 2-3 flowers. He let me know I could text him with pictures and ideas to go off of. Later, I changed my mind and only wanted 2 flowers in shades of pink with some vines and leaves. I made the drive down to Heavy Water Tattoo again about a month later. I brought my friend and he was totally okay with it, which was awesome- I've met some rude tattoo artists!  Anyways, he showed me what he had drawn up- and it was gorgeous. I loved the flower choices and the vines and colors and everything. Brayton began tattooing and he has an awesome light hand. I have a higher pain tolerance, but it still didn't hurt too bad :)We finished my piece in about 4 hours. It is so amazing and I'm in love with it. Every time that someone has seen my tattoo (about 2 weeks I've had it) I receive nothing but compliments! People can't believe what amazing work Brayton did.  Brayton is an awesome guy who is super laid back. I wasn't uncomfortable at any part of the appointment and he made sure I was doing okay.
