We were down for vacation from Portland and have always wanted to get tattooed while in Santa Cruz. This is our happy place and have been coming for many years, my husband all his life. We decided to commit this year for a few reasons. We  met with Skan and had a consultation. We felt his art spoke to us and was exactly what we were looking for. I had 2 small pieces on both arms done and my husband had his Koi fish finished. We are so glad we did it. Skan drew out everything perfectly, made us excited about our pieces. Have had multiple pieces done here and they have a guy for whatever you are looking for. Skan has traveled the world doing pieces and has brought back a range of great tattoo knowledge. They will talk you out if something that won't fit your body too. Recommend them for sure. Read Less

Skan is amazing! First off when we called he assured us that he wouldn't send us out with a bad tattoo, which was nice to hear! We get there kinda late but he was still super full of positive energy. My fiancé and I are always pretty sceptic of different tattoo shops but Skan definitely did not do us wrong. He was so friendly and assured us that everything he was using was new (needles) and clean! The environment is super relaxed and he uses a newer needle that REDUCES PAIN! Definitely a huge plus. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! THEY ARE SO NICE ON THE PHONE ANYONE WOULD WANT TO ORDER FROM THEM! KATHY IS A GREAT SALES WOMEN! NOTHING AGAINST THE SALES PEOPLE IN THE COMPANY. WHAT I CAME TO FIND WAS THAT THEIR PRODUCTS DO NOT WORK!! I ORDERS A HUGE ORDER FOR OUR THREE STORES. JUST REGULAR INK FOR REGULAR PRINTERS. ALMOST ALL OF THE INK DID NOT WORK IT WAS EITHER TOO LIGHT OR ONLY WORKS ON ONE SIDE OF THE PAPER. I CALLED AND RIGHT AWAY SHE WAS LIKE OK ILL E MAIL YOU A RETURN LABEL AND SEND OUT REPLACEMENTS. WELL I GOT THE REPLACEMENTS AND THEY ALSO DID NOT WORK. FINALLY I HAD TO GET MY OWN BOX TO MAIL IT BACK. THEN FINALLY GET A CREDIT. ALL OF THIS TOOK SOME TIME. I WAS INFORMED NOT TO PAY THE BILL UNTIL ALL WAS RIGHT! WELL COME TO FIND OUT THAT NOW THEY ARE SENDING MY COMPANY TO COLLECTIONS. I JUST PUT THE BILL THROUGH THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT NOW THAT ALL IS OK SO TECHNICALLY I BELIEVE WE SHOULD HAVE MORE TIME TO PAY THE REMAINING BILL ON THE FEW ITEMS THAT ACTUALLY DID WORK. I went to a tattoo expo and picked Coast to Coast to do my tattoo on my inner arm.  I had a picture of what I wanted and Francisco was able to get a picture of the real flower off the Internet and create a beautiful tattoo.  I went home and realized I wanted to add to my tattoo a bit and had a little different of a idea in mind of how I wanted to add to it in a whimsical  way. I've gotten 2 of my biggest tattoos here from skan arts! He first did my sternum piece a year ago. I came to him with an idea and he spent HOURS perfecting the sketch and making sure it's perfect. The black work is bolder than any other I've seen, and to this day is super bold. He's also been working on my outer thigh neo traditional piece. I've given him freedom of expression and he's captured the "colorful" and "girly" request that I gave him. I love both of my tattoos and they have healed flawlessly, and are as bold as ever. Walked in with my mind set of wanting to relief some negative thoughts with a small tattoo no idea where i wanted it or how it was going to look first time at the location! I have a few small tattoos and i have complained about the work each time skan took over i will only have him work on my art from now on he makes its fun fast and he is really friendly he gave me great options a spot to place my tattoo said yes right away the perfect size perfect color ink and didnt feel a thing he even fixed another tattoo i had i truely recomend him you wont regret it im so happy with my ink i love it i really appreciate it. I made a call asking about appointments and spoke to Nick. He had some time that same day and I was looking for a small but sentimental piece to be done. I was a little worried when he could do it the same day but I really wanted to do the tattoo. I know with tattoo's it is important to research the artist in advance. In this case I didn't and I am super happy with my art.I went to the shop and he was finishing with another client. I noticed his art was very clean and he was very friendly. When it was my turn I shared my ideas and why it was so important. Nick is a solid dude. He is talented and creative. He loves what he does and he is willing to help you crate a special work of art. It was getting late and he took his time to make sure it was perfect. The art I was looking for was fine delicate line work and he did an amazing job! I already talked to him about a 2nd tattoo. Nick is really easy to talk to and has a good attitude. If you give him the chance he will create something really special for you! Skan did a wonderful job on my butterfly tattoo. Everybody says it looks like it just landed on my arm. Which is exactly the look I was going for. I will definitely return and use any of their artists. I am returning in November to have a memorial cremains tattoo done by Lalo Pena.I'm also going to get some lettering done by Jesse Rochlin.See my blue butterfly arm tattoo in the picture section. I researched numerous shops in Santa Cruz, read many reviews, to find a tattoo shop where my "home from college" son and I could stop in while vacationing. Decided on Coast 2 Coast and it did not disappoint!! First off, the artists were very welcoming, friendly, and willing to work with your ideas. The shop - immaculate. Got a leg piece done by Skan Arts a little over a month ago and he was down right amazing. He kept it very bearable with the piece being finished so much faster than he had planned. The way he does his shading cuts out at least half the time but he still does it so precise that every section on my leg is filled perfectly, but for those large sections you'll start to feel it after so long lol.
