Came to Santa Clarita tattoo and piercing shop at 1:30 for a switch from my nose stud to a nostril hoop. I walked in with my boyfriend and no one bothered to greet us. There was an older lady and a younger gentleman standing at the top of the steps looking at us up and down. I cleared my throat and said "um hello." And she said "did you need help?" I explained what I wanted to get done and she told me the piercer wasn't even there until 3. I went in and consulted with Karen, the store owner, several months ago. I had two tattoos on my right ankle that were ruined from a botched laser hair removal session. Both tattoos had second degree burns, and as a result, left me with chunks of my tattoos gone. Karen was able to assess the damage and figure out a game plan to fix them. Recently, I went in to get my tragus and daith piercing taken out and replaced with a clear earring for my job over summer. I replaced my tragus piercing with a skin colored piece for the front and that worked great! Karen replaced my daith piercing with a glass L shaped clear nose piercing and it worked AMAZING! No one could even tell that it was still in at my job. I kept it in for at almost two months and nothing changed from the first time she put it in. It didn't discolor or smell. It didn't get caught in anything and it didn't get pulled out easily or move easily. It was seriously a blessing in disguise for my job. I would definitely recommend glass clear piercings for replacement piercings if you need to take it out for any reason. So i just moved to Valencia a month ago from marina del Rey and I've been dealing with this dam earring piercing of mine messing up since i got it ! I went to a place that was totally uneducated even though there yelp seemed legit . Anyways the 1st place pierced it with a big needle and then put a Tiny jewelry in it defeating the purpose of the larger whole . Then i went to another place to have the jewelry removed because it was not surgical steel or titanium . Once again i was stuck with another fake plated jewelry . I found Karen ! And boy can i say she's a 5 star rock star ! She took out my old nasty rusted earring educated me on what i really needed and what to look out for . Today I got my first tattoo and though I was a little nervous, Kristina made the entire process easy. She was very genuine, easy to talk to and made me feel relaxed. She explained the process and wanted to make sure that I was completely comfortable and happy with the size and location of my tattoo. Went in and got a bridge piercing done about 6 months ago with who I think is Karen however I'm not sure anymore of names. She was very personable and nice, however my piercing was done with a surface bar which is not the correct jewelry for this piercing as it is U/staple shaped and would be nearly impossible for me myself to remove to switch out. When I realized this I went back in and asked how I would remove it and was given unhelpful advice that if I just pulled it through it would come out, but that's not the case. I eventually had to go to a different shop and get it removed and switched out for a barbell. I also had a nostril piercing done here which didn't result in any issues, but having had such negative experience with my bridge I am not sure I'll come back. Read Less

Got my first tattoo past Sunday.  Kristina did my tattoo. It's still healing so I'll post another day, but even healing it looks great.I had held off on getting a tattoo for nearly ten years.  Eventually people in the Santa Clarita Valley mentioned this parlor (more than one) and I decided to drive by.  I was nervous.  I showed up without any appointment.  The people there were friendly and invited me to talk to them.  Kristina demonstrated that she understood what I wanted and said she could get it done, despite it being a bit intricate.I showed up to the appointment.  It was very clean, professional, only new equipment was used on me, I saw her unwrap everything.Initially she transfered an image of it onto my upper right arm where I wanted it, so I could see what it would look like.  That was very reassuring.The session lasted less than two hours, Kristina asked after my comfort a couple times, joined me for a five minute break to stretch, etc.  I had not realized getting a tattoo was more like a "no big deal" sun-burning feeling, not a painful feeling.  I forgot about it.  At one point when Kristina and I weren't shooting the breeze, I nearly dozed off because I was feeling really relaxed, and I could see what she was doing, I trust her and it was going great.Once it was done, Kristina went into clear details, with written instructions, on how to care for my new tattoo (easy, now that they have this protective film that goes over the new tattoo for the first few days, and easy after that).  She mentioned I can come back later to get it touched up if it's not perfect.My wife and step-daughter saw it.  Both immediately demanded business cards of hers, which I gave to her.  My wife is already surfing the internet to narrow down how she wants hers done, I knew that would happen.I'm coming back in a year or so to get another one done and I'll use Kristina.Shane was there while I had this done, and a couple others were around.  He seemed very interesting, and I noticed him doing some cool work on someone.  He and Kristina spoke of the long history of this shop in the Santa Clarita Valley.  Shane and I briefly spoke about our guitar collections.All in all, I appreciated that this parlor was clean, professional, helpful and not like other parlors I had looked at, it was professional and welcoming, but above all, the art is really fantastic, I love love love my new tattoo. Super disappointed. Me and my friends went in for matching palm tree tattoos. There about 4x3 inch nothing crazy. I told Shane that I wanted shading and white added so it popped a little and that I did not want the tattoo to look like a solid black stamp. Well his idea of shading is a bunch of random dots, he never added the white we wanted, and NON of the tattoos are close to be matching... the palm tree leafs are all different sizes and shapes and to top it off the line are blown out. When I went back in to have him fix it he said that that's how I wanted it and that I would have to pay again for him to work on it. I paid $100 the first time. Love coming here. Karen does my piercings and has even fixed piercings I had previously gotten elsewhere & was having issues with. Wish I had gone to her to begin with. Julian does my tattoos & is seriously amazing. I had a half sleeve on my upper arm from another artist, that had a certain pattern and design. So I was nervous to have a different artist add to it on my lower arm, to make it a full sleeve. I decided to have Julian do it & he could not have done a better job. I actually am happier with the work he did on my lower than what I have on my upper from someone else, it all looks great together though & looks like it's all from the same artist. He took the time to make sure it was exactly what I wanted and gave great suggestions when I wasn't sure how exactly to piece it together. He's done multiple tattoos for me besides my sleeve and I won't go to anyone else now. And the pricing is extremely fair considering the work they do here. Friday the 13 was a bust. 20 dollars for arm and leg but anywhere else $50? Not to mention the tattoo is huge and terribly lined. When all I wanted was something small. Didn't card or have us sign anything. Rushed us for no reason there weren't any people behind us. It's funny cause earlier that day I went to third eye on sierra hwy and the work was excellent, and you could have it anywhere for $20. I do not recommend going to them for any Friday the 13 tattoos. This review is about the front counter, not the artist or tattoos. So I'm a new resident to the area (Saugus) and was looking for a new shop. After doing some searching and reading reviews on artist and shops, I found this one. I decided to check it out on flash "Friday the 13th" to familiarize myself with the shop since I was planning on getting my left arm sleeve done here. (right arm is a work in progress) Anyways, I see that it opened at 10 for the event so I head down there and arrive at 10:10 and there is maybe 3-4 people ahead of me. I ask one of the ladies working behind the counter if there was a sign in sheet and she replied "we're working on getting one out". I looked over the and found what I wanted then sat and waited for the sign in sheet. More and more people start to come into the shop and are all hovered around the counter looking at the flash art. 10:30 rolls around and a lady finally puts a sign in sheet down on the counter saying "sign in if you're ready". Well every person standing at the counter signed in and those of us that sat down got assed out. After a few words and being told it's a bit hectic (being unorganized). I left the shop in disappointment. I know they have excellent artist (like Shane) but my experience by the staff at the front counter lost my business. I know it's just a $13 tattoo but they really should care about the order of when folks arrived and the future business that can be. Read Less

I have had tattoos and piercings here and they are the Great!   I have gotten 3 tattoos and one piercing so I know what I am talking about. I love my Daith piercing for migraine headaches.   Karen did that piercing for me and haven't had a migraine since Feb 2016. Small line work is so important and Kristina really nailed it. I could not be happier. She dispelled all my fears for my first ink, explaining everything in intricate detail. Don't judge this place from its external appearance. I recently moved to Santa Clarita and I was in search of a reputable tattoo/piercing shop. While I've yet to get any tattoos, I frequently get piercings and I need to have a piercer I feel comfortable with. Karen was amazing! When I first parked out front I was skeptical, but that changed as soon as I walked inside. The shop is clean and spacious! Karen appears to be a rough-around-the-edges type lady, but she is SO SWEET. She is funny and kind. She definitely knows what she's doing. The prices are a bit higher than my old shop, but the quality jewelry and Karen's hospitality and talent are well worth it. I went in to get my rook pierced and was able to sleep on it the second night - something I've never been able to do comfortably after any other cartilage piercings. I definitely plan to go back soon for my snug. That same day, I mentioned I was looking for a new captive ring for my tragus. She let me know the cost of the rings and I told her that I wouldn't be able to afford it that day because I'm a waitress and I had to wait for my next paycheck. When I paid, Karen threw one in - no charge :)The next week I had lost one of the balls on my curved barbell and went back in for help. Karen came out and helped me right away. She popped on another ball, gave me a little numbing gel (because it was sensitive from just being pierced), and sent me on my way - bing bang boom.Very positive experience, mainly thanks to Karen. We just got married that day walked in when they first opened. Talked to Kristina and she seemed bothered that we wanted some work done. Said it's probably better that we wait for another artist to come in and do two small tattoo's. We told her we would come back in an hour she said ok she I'll do it an hour, what do you guys want? We said we wanted our wedding date and love on our ring finger, Kristina wanted to charge us $120  Each for four letters and six numbers???? I got smokin' sleeves there. They took about a year & a half to finish but it was worth the time and every penny. I've been all over the world competing on my bike I'm the #1 freestyle rider and everywhere I go I check out the local shops but they don't come close to the work they do at santa clarita tattoo. I send all my friends and family there too. Never heard anything but good from any of 'em. My sister wanted a custom drawn back piece. I thought she'd have to wait a while before she'd get in but she walked in and they drew it for her on the spot, then did it . She's such a wimp and was so scared it was going to hurt her bad and she'd move all over or worse quit 1/2 way thru. They were so cool to her they numbed her so she didnt feel a thing! I got my first large piece here about a yr and a half ago. Orginally, when he did the outline, most of the ink fell out before my next appt. I paid almost $300 for a 3"" x 4"" thing on my arm. When he finished, there were blowouts and uneven shading. I ended up having to pay almost just as much getting it retouched. The staff is really cool... and it's very cleanly... but what's the point if the work comes out bad. Try somewhere else. Read Less
