Rob did our tattoo. He claimed he knew what he was doing but we were fooled. So many mistakes that we didn't even bother to argue. We tried so hard to be positive but fuck man, you call yourself a tattoo artist with 30 yrs experience? You're a fucking joke. All we wanted was to get the fuck out of there once he finished. Horrible experience he is super rude, owner smokes IN the shop. Dropped ashes on my husband while getting tattooed. Talk about INFECTION. So unprofessional. He fucked up my husbands tattoo and we will NEVER be coming here again. I would NOT recommend anyone to waste their money here. I am going to insert a pic of my husbands painfully swollen tattoo with all its mistakes. It embarrasses us so much to show it but here, check it out for yourself what "30 years experience" looks like. If anyone has any recommendations of anyone that can possibly fix this disaster or cover it up please let me know! It's such a shame that people like this calling themselves "tattoo artists" are out ruining people's skins for money. I made an appointment with Sid for a Saturday at 2pm. When I arrived, there was no one there. Someone finally came in at 3pm when I was driving out of the parking lot. Then, I was told that Sid had the day off and was not aware of an appointment. They said that the person I made the appointment with always forgets to write it down or let the tattoo artist know. (Maybe they should have someone else answering the phone!) He said to come back the next day. I did and Sid was not in yet. When he finally came in, I waited over an 1 1/2 hours while he chatted with everyone in the shop, sat down to eat lunch and watch TV and then slowly get prepared to do my tattoo. I get that a tattoo shop is more of a chill environment but this was ridiculous. Finally got my tattoo which ended up pretty good. Six months later when I was ready for another tattoo, because of some really good reviews, I decided to give Sid's another try. Called on Friday and made appointment for Sunday at 3:30. When I arrived, there was no one there (again!). All locked up. I waited in the parking lot until 4pm. Called them and left a message. Never received a call back. One of the best shops I have been too.  We had an appointment with Rob and he was an amazing guy. He was nice, right to the point, and full of amazing punk rock trivia. The prices were very good for the amount of work and detail done.  My tattoo looks exactly like the artwork.  My girlfriends tattoo he added some amazing shading. I got my third and fourth tattoo here at Sid's! Awesome vibe and environment, the artists are completely awesome, very friendly and funny. The first tattoo I got here was a script tattoo that says "this too shall pass" and after 2 years I'm still in love with it, i went back six months later to get my ankle tattoo and i love love love it soooo much! Great artists and amazing pricing, if you're looking for an amazing tattoo parlor with reasonable prices, come here! You won't leave unsatisfied, I had went to different parlors for pricings on my tattoos and they all wanted to charge $300+ for these two tattoos and when I came here they gave me a reasonable price and I always leave happy! If I can put zero stars I would. I came to Sid's Tattoo shop for my first tattoo. The staff was nice and welcoming. However, the tat was a whole other story. I was BEYOND DISAPPOINTED with my tattoo! Especially because my tattoo was a simple infinity sign tattoo. My tattoo was done by ROB. I DO NOT recommend this place to any person. Check out my infinity tattoo done by Rob below. I had a tattoo done by Rob and I'm extremely unhappy with it. Asked for simple linework and thought it looked decent in the shop, but once I got home and took off the bandage I immediately broke into tears. Came to this shop because of great reviews I've seen on Yelp, and I really wish I hadn't. He didn't have me sign a waiver or consent form, the linework is extremely sloppy, the shading is super uneven, and the lettering is unevenly spaced. I've already requested a consultation for removal. Girl next to me had a tattoo done by Sid which turned out great, but I wasn't as lucky. Referred to Sid. Rob said Sid was too busy and could do work for me. Had a beautiful feminine corset back tattoo I wanted. Rob charged me a fortune and tattooed my back with dark black leaf. He had done outline first visit so he asked me to be patient that I would be happy. I am not. It's a mess is the only way to describe it. Said he'd fix it for me and when I went back he yelled and screamed and laughed at me and told me to get out. 8-9 hours of scribble. Refused to give refund. 4 years later and I still love my tattoo. This review is long overdue. I remember my experience being really quick and not as painful as I thought it'd be. Beam was a professional and very nice which I appreciated considering I'm a woman in my 20's and came in alone with major nerves. Beam was great though. He added his own twist to the photo I brought in, making the woman's hair to his style and giving her more curves which I appreciate more now. I've been seeing Sid for the past 2 years. As a Northern California resident it's about a 7 hour drive to make it down to Santa Ana to the shop. Which is nothing compared to the many people that fly from all over the world to see Sid. Sids is known all over the world as one of the best American Traditional artists around. His work stands out from anyone's work I've seen. Granted there's a lot of very talented artists out there, Sids work is just different. The speed of his work stands out bar non. I sat for 3 hours in the chair with Sid and finished a massive half sleeve Jesus portrait. That's just one of the many tattoos I have from him. His shop is very clean and everyone that works there treats you like family. I can't tell you how many times I've been to the shop and they have pizza there and offer it to people that walk in the door. Rob is a very down to earth and nice man who doubles as a minister. These guys are amazing. The tattoos that come out of this shop are the amazing and I plan on staying with Sid until I decide I've had enough tattoos lol. I was very impressed with my experience at SIDS! I went with a good friend as both of us got our ribs tattooed, which was a scary prospect, but something we had been wanting to do for a long time. I was getting script and she was getting an arrow design. I had a friend who Beam had tattooed years before and it still looked so crisp that we both asked to have him. The experience was great both he and chris (who was not our artist but I would also recommend!) were so professional but also kind and encouraging! Yo, Sid's shop is it! The wife and I had a super cool experience here last that will be with us a lifetime. Very chill and colorful vibe exuding from that place the second you cross the threshold or even if your cruising the Boulevard. I've been to many shops and the attention to detail by these artists, is on point and the charisma of German makes me want to make the drive just to talk to him. Sid gave me a completely original tattoo that healed in 5 days. I was always a black/grey guy in the past, and decided to go with traditional this time. It is a huge chest piece, and he managed to blend it in with my others. I told him what i wanted, he used his own creativity to come up with what is now my favorite art on my body. The only problem...i did not go to him first!!! It was pretty painful, but with how fast it healed, i am fine with the 4 hours of pain. This was at his new location, never went to the old place. I recently had gotten my first tattoo from Ben not only did work with my idea he took my concept and added the time to put in the details I wouldn't have thought to add.  The price was reasonable and the tattoo turned out great! I wrote a review for their previous location and here's an updated one. The wife who ruined my ankle contacted me and said that she "was sorry for not being satisfied with the tattoo". Then she mentioned that her children are her livelihood. Not sorry for my pain and suffering that I went through and said that my review was old and outdated and to consider removing it.Do you know what I went through for her mistake. i never wrote a review about my time here, but i thought i should. i had a tattoo done here for two reasons: my brother had gone here for all 5 of his tat's, and sid is my pastor's grandson-in-law. so i obviously trusted my brother's opinion. i had an appointment with chris, and when i came in with my brother, he was ready for me... and i showed him my tat sketch and he had me pick out the font for the writing while he resketched my design... once i was ready, he had me sit down and started prepping my arm. i noticed he wasn't in the best mood, but i was really excited about getting my very first tattoo... my brother chatted it up with all the guys... and they were all friendly enough. but chris must of had a bad day b/c he wasn't very nice, hardly talked or looked at me, and seemed like he could care less about my tattoo. he did it exactly the way i drew it, but he just seemed like he'd rather be doing something or anything else. so i personally didn't appreciate his aloof personality; even if he did have a bad day or whatever, he should take it out, or involve, his clients... its unprofessional. but i am completely happy with my tattoo, and i get compliments constantly - even 3 years later. and the color is still pretty and very vibrant! so i'm happy with the outcome, but they need a little education on manners and customer service. my brother had sid for most of his tat's and he loved sid... thought he was great... so, maybe if i ever go back, i'll have sid do mine. I went to get a tattoo at Sid's but they were busy, so I layed down a $40 deposit and made an appointment for 2 weeks later. The tattoo guy ROB, asked what tattoo I wanted and when I told him, I got a snicker from him and the rest of his ""followers"". (He has several young guys that hang around the parlor trying to become artists, but they do nothing but take up space.) I guess my tattoo idea wasnt original enough for them. Anyway, I come back two weeks later and have a seat because Rob wasnt finished doing someone elses tattoo yet.... I waited, and I waited... an hour and half went by past my appointment time and Rob asks ""Do you have an appointment?"" I said ""Yes, it was for an hour and a half ago."" Then he says ""I didnt know, I didnt make the appointment."" I said ""Actually yes you did. You even took a deposit."" He dang well did make the appointment and even if he didnt, he should check his appointment book. If he didnt know I had an appointment then why did it take him an hour and 30 minutes to ask what I needed. The guys rude and he's completely lazy. He reluctantly stars setting up to do my tattoo and he kind of changes it a lot. I didnt like it, so I asked him to modify it to my liking. I guess this was a problem for him. Its gonna be on me forever and I wanted it done MY way, not ROB's way. So as he's about to touch my skin with the needle. I ask ""How much will it cost?"" He says...""Um $150"" I said ""WHAT?!! Its a little bumble bee!"" So he says ""But its really detailed""...then he asks ""How much did you want to pay?"" I said ""No more than $100"" and he goes... ""I cant do that""...He didnt want to do it to begin with. So I say ""I could go down the street and get it done for less"" Then he says ""Yeah but the place down the street isnt as good as me."" Which is complete BS... so I left. Imagine waiting 90 minutes past your appointment time, getting no appology and then being over charged. I hate Rob and I will never go to Sids again! Fat lazy ROB!
