I usually don't leave reviews, but I had such a good experience with Soul Imagez and had to show them some love!My friend and I spontaneously decided to get tattoos, so we went to check out Soul Imagez to see if they did walk ins and had any space for two. They did. We were greeted by Stephany who is super nice and friendly and took care of us right away. She gave us our paperwork, waivers, and all that good stuff and then we were ready to go. I had Melanie who is super sweet, and someone I can tell really cares about her work and wants to make sure her customers are getting the best. I definitely would go back to Melanie; I appreciate how much attention and time she gives to every single detail. You can tell how much consideration and care she puts into a tattoo, because she has to make sure the tattoo looks good and it's in a good place and position. I wanted a lotus unalome, and she definitely made sure everything was good before we started the real thing. Then when everything was figured out, we were ready to start the real deal! The whole process took about 30 to 40 minutes including little breaks. Melanie made the process super comfortable, and I am definitely going back to her for my next tattoo! The sad thing is she told me she and Josh might be moving to a new location in Campbell. That isn't too far from SJ, and she and Josh will definitely worth the trek over there! I think it's safe to say I've been here a decent amount of times and been to other shops/artists to say this is the spot. I've been to one other in DTSJ and two in the East Bay. But this place is definitely MY go-to; no doubt about it.I've gotten all my tatts done by Josh and he makes the session as painless as possible.  During consultations, his explanations/suggestions of sizing and placement are extremely helpful. I always go with what he advises and the results are always amazing.Every tattoo I've gotten done, he still cease to amaze me.  I've gotten 6 tattoos done by him (both big and small) and every time I'm still so amazed at how great of a job he does.  I can't pick which one is my favorite because they're all so crisp and clean.I 100% trust his opinion and artwork.  His shading compared to other places I've been to is by far the best.  I don't question it and I'm not worried about it.  Tattoos are a permanent thing on your body, and I trust this place 110% to do a great job every time.  What I like most about this place is that he really takes his time to make sure the placement of the tattoo is placed on correctly and makes sure it's what you want.  They're very easy and fun to talk to and they make your visit really enjoyable.  I'm just finished my half sleeve from this place. Joshua is a top notch tattoo artist! He took the reference pictures I gave him and made me an awesome tattoo! The shop has a nice, big waiting area with some very comfortable chairs. The back is also very spacious and you can get up to actually stretch your legs when you get a break. Overall, awesome experience! Highly recomend! Read Less

Me and my wife went to Soul Images Tattoo Shop around 7pm as a walk in and got our matching tattoos and Melanie was so incredibly patient with how we wanted them to look and she stayed late to do them and she was so friendly and open with us; I deffinitely suggest anyone including newbies to check this place out. I had a tattoo done on 9-9-2016 by Melanie, and she did an amazing job! Seriously... a back-breaking, hunched over for two hours, switching between 8 colors every 10-15 minutes, on a tattoo no bigger than a 2"x2" space... because it was important to me. I have been working on a design for very long, and was very cautious on who to use, especially with the detail. My sister, who came to visit from NC was looking to get a tattoo [and who is more adventurous and trusting in ran...dom strangers, than I] found Soul Imagez online and called to do a walk-in. Melanie was there when we arrived, and agreed to do my sisters design. The price was very fair... and she even took the time to redraw my sister's design. She did an awesome job on my sister's tattoo... so much, that I was confident I had found the artist for mine. Flash forward a little over a month later, and I'm sitting in the chair myself. Two hours later... I've got the most brilliant tattoo on the inside of my forearm and I can't stop grinning at the perfection. Tattoos are a serious business. They are meaningful, they are spiritual, they are reminders of our past and encouragement for our future. They can be big, small, happy, sad, comical, zany, frightening, joyful, or make no sense whatsoever. But it's personal. And when it's this personal, there has to be trust between the two people involved, and a mutual respect for each other. One person is trusting a part of their soul to be permanentmy displayed on their body, and the other person is trusting that their interpretation is as close to the truth, as they are able. You have to respect that kind of faith in someone. So, if you're looking for someone who understands that element of this ancient art-style, then give Melanie a call.
