Walking out of getting tattooed at Polished is like finishing opening up presents on Christmas. Eight tattoos (so far) from Micah Norman is justification that this shop is my go to. I love that I'm able to support an awesome local business and get great work without having to travel all the way to San Francisco. If you're looking for clean and professional American Traditional work, he's your guy. I've came to Micah with many ideas and he's always been extremely easy to communicate and work with. Our appointments have always been on schedule and he takes the time to draw my line work ahead of time so I'm not kept waiting, nor is he an artist that takes consistent breaks. I don't ever get nervous for how my tattoo will come out because excitement and confidence triumphs. It's apparent that he knows his stuff so it's nothing but fun. If you're looking for something other than traditional work, there's plenty of great artists of different styles as well. Everyone is extremely friendly and the best part of all is there's always great music bumpin. GREAT SHOP. Will recommend to anyone! I came in for a small tattoo on my wrist and my boyfriend wanted to get a tattoo on his back calf. We met Jesse right when we talked in and he was very polite, knowledgeable and friendly. He advised me about what I wanted and the best way to do it and which colored ink would last the best. He was attentive and listened to what we were looking for and advised us of the best ways to accomplish them. Everything was sterile and clean, organized and comfortable. The line work of both our tattoos were perfect and the designs were identical to what we wanted. He offered breaks when it was getting too intense and was very patient with us. I was firstly drawn to the hours of the studio. They are open until 11pm which helped since we went to see another parlor that was subpar...They only take cash which was a bit of an inconvenience but there was an ATM next door. The location seems a bit uncomfortable but once inside it's a very nice place to be. Cost was definitely a bit of a turn off for us but we wanted the best work possible especially for my boy friend's first tattoo. There is a $100 minimum for tattoos so that was a bit steep for a small tattoo... but the work was WELL WORTH it. So very happy! Will definitely be back to Jesse for future work. Read Less

I have been here before and the whole reason I came back was because I trusted them to do a great job in a timely manor. It has a great vibe that I could feel from how I was treated over the phone, when I walked in, and while getting my tattoo.Sam did my most recent tattoo and he is amazing; A truly talented artist. I'm so thankful that he helped me when I walked in for the first time. I shared a photo and tried to explain my vision and he made it more beautiful than I could have imagined. He took his time with me when I was struggling to relax and made me feel very comfortable. I love my tattoo and how it evolved over two sessions with Sam. His main concern was that I was happy with the end result and I am beyond happy. It's beautiful. I had the idea for this tattoo for a couple years, and so it was a big deal trusting it with someone. I found Marcus through Yelp and looked at his Instagram (@marcus_era) and fell in love with his work! I met with him for a consultation and felt completely comfortable with him right away. I felt like he really listened to what I wanted (however I was pretty open with the layout) and he made me feel good about the things I wanted working in the tattoo, and helped me talk through leaving certain details out that would have been too much for this particular piece. I left the consultation trusting his artistry and process and I was NOT disappointed. He's super friendly and an awesome artist and tattooer. THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE):- a lot of times I feel any tattoo parlor is easily missed when driving, unless you see signage that says TATTOO- in this case, it's next door to the Willow Den, a super rowdy bar- parking is EXTREMELY limited, so you might end up parking across the street or in the nearby neighborhoodTHE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE):- VERY clean- quiet waiting area in the front, very lobbyish with a water dispenser, seating, tattoo magazines- there's a bar area and a swinging half door (saloonish feel) - the tattoo station area is in the back behind the swinging half door, and everyone is in the general same area- two bathrooms located in the back right (they're very clean, stacked with toilet covers, TP, soap, AND potpourri keeping it fresh!)- backyardish area is a good designated smoking areaTATTOO ARTIST:  Sarah Grossman PROCESS: - I wanted to get my third tattoo (oak tree) for a few years and wanted to make sure it was from a woman- I was referred to Sarah from a friend of a friend and emailed her after looking at her Instagram page (instagram.com/sgrossman_…)  because she has experience with flora and colored tattoos-  after emailing her, I stopped by the shop to have an in person hello/quick consultation for 15 minutes, and set a deposit ($20-$40 cash) for an appointment about a month from the consultation date- $150/hour is the shop rateMY EXPERIENCE- 4 sessions over a 5-month period- Sarah was great! I'm so surprised that Eyor was only mentioned two or three times! Got my first tattoo done by him and he made sure my experience was comfortable. The tattoo came out amazingly, super beautiful and detailed! I'm very picky about art in general and even with being a picky person, I fell way more in love with my tattoo than I expected to. Very professional and responds to emails quickly and thoroughly, which was really important to me because I was getting a custom piece and wanted him to understand exactly what I wanted. This place is always spotless when I show up and Sam is an amazing artist. All the guys that work there are friendly and extremely helpful. I am all about the vibe that I get from a place when I choose where to get my tattoos done and Polished Tattoo gave me the best vibe the second I stepped in the door. I also can't recommend Sam enough. I am getting a big back piece of two dragons and I gave him creative freedom and it's coming out better than I could've expected. First I want to thank Sam number 1 tattooer.I was looking to do my first tattoo and honestly Polished tattooing was not my first choice. Lucky me the place I wanted was closed and my friend told me a bout tattoo shop next to Bar we knows.We enter to Polished tattooing and Sam was at the front desk. Sarah made this process, it being my 1st time getting a tattoo and all, so incredibly easy and comfortable. We met a week prior for a consultation where she helped me finalize the placement, size and design. I walked away with an appointment, price, and feeling of contentment. The day of my tattoo session Sarah showed me the design and was very flexible when I suggested for it to be smaller. It was a huge relief to see her taking extra precautions to keep her station extra clean. The session itself took no more than 30 minutes and the pain was minimal due to her light touch. Marcus (check out his art @marcus_era on instagram) portrayed all the qualities of what I was looking for in an artist. I came in with a really vague idea of what I wanted, just peonies on my hip area,  and Marcus put a lot of time and thought into the size, how the flowers would contour my body, styles of shading etc. and I'm so happy I trusted him on it! Marcus made me feel at ease even though I'm really bad with pain and was terrified. He's always looking out for my comfort and satisfaction with the piece. There's no doubt he has a true passion for art and knows exactly what he's doing. I'm definitely going to get a portrait done by him sometime down the line! It's such a rare talent and I'm always impressed with his work. If you take a look at his work on his instagram and on yelp photos, you'll see that Marcus doesn't just have one flat style/type - he's able to create amazing art for just about every tattoo dream you'd have without boundaries.  This guy is a perfectionist and will stare at every square millimeter of the piece to make sure it's flawless. If I'm not happy with the end product, he won't be happy. If I'm happy with it, he's still constantly looking for ways to make it better. Marcus is an excellent tattoo artist!! For 4 years, i was looking for a specific tattoo artist for my alice in wonderland tattoo that i've been longing to get. When i saw his art work on instagram  immediately knew he was the one! I was nervous to see how my tattoo will turn out but i had faith in him because of the amazing job he does. When i saw the preview of how my alice was going to look like i knew that he was perfect for this job since i wanted my tattoo to look more realistic. I found him when looking for a realism artist, he was on the Yelp page for the old shop Illusions tattooing, but I found his Instagram to see his other work- I was so impressed! He's an amazing artist who is humble, and competent! He will be honest with you and won't try to scam you for his wallet! If you want a guy who you can trust will put 150% into his work- don't skimp out.
