After reading all of the great reviews and choosing this place based on the 4.8/5 stars, I expected a great experience but it was not that at all.****Read if you're getting tatted by Damon*** I called on Sunday to ask a few questions and asked if they did walk-ins or if I could make an appointment, and the guy who I spoke with (who then ended up being my artist) said just come on in so there was no appointment. I went a few hours later and he was at the front desk so I discussed what I wanted which was three small minimalistic tattoos, two on my fingers and one on my wrist. He said they don't do finger tattoos until I showed him that I already had one. So then I showed my reference pictures of a sun and a moon for my fingers. He said the sun I showed was too complicated and too big for where I wanted it on my finger so I showed him another picture I had of a sun I had done in henna before and he said okay but it would have to be solid and filled in which is not what I was hoping for, but I figured he would know what could and couldn't be done. So he used the henna picture and the two others I gave him for reference. His attitude from the beginning was gruff and churlish like I was a bother, but that's to be expected sometimes at tattoo places. The moon on my finger was the only one he used a stencil for and it looked perfect when he put the outline on. It ended up being obviously crooked and the shading looks very amateur. The sun is almost completely solid and almost looks like a ninja star, which is not what I wanted at all going for minimalistic, or what my reference picture looked like whatsoever. The third tattoo I got on my wrist turned out perfectly, he free handed it and it's exactly like the picture. So here's where my biggest problem with this whole experience comes in: when he finished with the tattoos, he put absolutely no protection on them. No bandage, no nothing. We walked to the front counter, I pulled out cash from the ATM and handed it to him, he counted it, and that was it. Not a word, no after care instructions, no goodbye, nothing. I'm really not sure if he was pissed about the tip (which was %18) or what, but I've been disturbed about it since. I walked to World Market afterwards and luckily they had gauze and Band-Aids because I was literally dripping blood. I'm pretty sure that's some kind of health code violation or something, but I'm just in shock how the whole experience went down. Luckily I've been tatted before so I know how to care for them, but Jesus.I know people who have gone here before and the reviews all say it's great if you have any of the other artists. Damon's profile says he's been tatting since '96 but I would have never guessed that the way I was treated. Will not go back there and will not recommend it to any friends. Read Less
