I love them! Got my first tattoo by lilie. I loved her work so much that I went back for my second. Definitely will be returning if I ever get any more work done. She is the sweetest. Super gentle and talented. The shop specializes on Japanese style tattoos and they are pros at going sleeves. My husband also got his sleeve done and wants to return to get his second arm done. I came here on Saturday to get my tattoo done by Denise. I came early and waited for her. When she arrived, she showed me two sketches. I wanted her to change the bottom portion and she was able to do it quickly. After that, we checked the sizing of my tattoo. She printed out two different sizes for me but I ended up wanting to make it a little bigger so she went back and did it. Despite all these changes I wanted, she stayed friendly and patient with me. After that she executed the tattoo flawlessly and kept my needs at top priority.After my tattoo, she gave me after care instructions and told me I could contact her if I had any questions. I did have some issues the next day - where the lotion I used irritated my tattoo (turns out Lubriderm doesn't react well with me skin - totally my fault). I texted her and showed her the picture of my irritated arm and she replied right away with what to do. Two days later, she texted me to check up on me. What great customer service!!Denise was super cooperative despite me wanting to change things multiple times which is much appreciated! During the whole process, she was very knowledgeable as well as patient with me. My overall experience was amazing - I have absolutely no complaints. I love my tattoo sooooo much. Khuongs is the most flexible artist I've ever met. Shop is the cleanest I've ever seen... Dope guy, and he does 100% freehand... The most professional shop I've ever seen in my life... When I came in he felt more like a friend than Just an artist. When he does your ink he does it section by section instead of outlining the whole thing and then filling in the shading.. I was astonished because there was no sketch prior to and he just drew everything with marker on my skin. We did 4.8 hours and my chest is basically finished. 12 more hours and everything will be done.. I'm definitely coming back to finish up my back with him. Everyone in the shop was friendly as hell as well and I like how Khuong's room was isolated and he was down for smoke breaks too. He's a true professional in the ink game and also a person I would like to call a friend. If you're hesitant because of the Waitlist just sign up and don't be scared. I got my tattoo done about 2 months ago and I am in loOoOve with it!!! Denise is so professional, friendly, creative and super fast on responding back to messages too. I had sent her so many photos through text messages on what I wanted to achieve and until the day of my appointment, I was still indecisive lol. I told Denise to work her magic and trusted her since I've seen her work through instagram and I was so impressed of her work after it was done. My tattoo looked clean cut and the colors were so vibrant. She did a couple tones of colors to make my cherry blossom leafs look like 3D. It literally looks like I can grab the flowers off my inner arm. That's just how flawless her work isKhuong had also did my tattoo twice years ago... I booked an appointment for my friend who was visiting from out of town. She just wanted a small little symbol, and her artist, Denise, was the sweetest most genuine down to earth person I met! When we explained the symbol to her, she truly cared about learning more and listening to our stories about it. My friend was super nervous because this was her first tattoo, but Denise was very patient with her and gentle and assured her it would all be fine.Since the tattoo was pretty small, it only took about 45 minutes, but Denise took her time and was very focused. My friend burst into tears when she saw it all finished. She was so happy with how it turned out and I was too. I also LOVE how clean this place is. It was very bright and clean, which made it a very appealing place. It looked more like an artist's studio then a scary dark tattoo shop. I saw Khuong's work on Instagram, and knew right away that I have to get some ink from him. Not going to lie, waiting for over 2 years sucked big time. However, in the end, it was all worth it. After 3 trips out to Cali from Texas, I am about half way done with my leg. I can not wait for my next appointment to finish it up. Khuong is by far the best artist that I've worked with. No disrespect to anyone that have tattooed me in the past. He's very efficient, and gentle. But most importantly, his art is phenomenal! Super cool dude as well, easy to talk to, and very humble. If I could give this place more stars, I would. First and foremost, the shop is put together so nicely. I've been to my share of tattoo parlors with friends and for myself and this place resembles none of your stereotypical tattoo parlors (and that's a good thing). It's very modern and the decor is full of Japanese art, they even have a real samurai suit of armor by the hallway! I think everything is laid out with feng shui in mind. No cheap/tacky tattoo design boards or signs around. Very comfortable beds for the clients, they have smart TV for us to watch Netflix on and always have a wide selection of music playing so you can always find something you can enjoy to take your mind off of the fact that you're getting a tattoo!The staff here is unbelievable, you have Khuong Ip Man, Tango, Denise Da Munks with their unrivaled talent, customer service, and creativity. Then on the front end, you have Vi who handles all the scheduling, paperwork, and reminders. I've had the pleasure of having Denise and Tan tattoo me and they are both amazing, and I've seen first hand Khuong working on his clients (I think I still have like 2 years left on the wait list for him lol). Denise's art background really shows up in her work, she's able to adapt to a variety of styles and when I asked her to ink a ram for my knee piece, she was able to capture everything I asked and the essence of the tattoo on her first try. She's so passionate about her work and you can tell that she does everything she can to make sure her clients are happy with their pieces. Tan has his own unique personality that really makes you feel at ease when he's working on you. His sense of humor makes the time fly by and his handwork is so soft, When he worked on my ankle and shins it would hurt just for a brief amount and next thing he's already finished and working on another part. Just got a shading session done from him two days ago and am itching for my next appointment. From my observation, Khuong is on another level than any of the other artists around in the area, his dedication to his craft is unparalleled, he's a consummate professional, genuinely nice, and his art work, speed, shading, and creativity are on another level. You can see that Denise and Tan both have been heavily influenced by him and strive for his standards. I don't think you can choose a bad option right now at Daruma with the current amazing trio of artists that work there. Even when you get a reminder call from Vi, you experience great customer service skills because she's such a positive person and those vibes make their way through the phone or e-mail!!I'll never go to another shop as long as Daruma is around!! Khuong truly does not disappoint. His wait list is long as fuh but surely surely surely worth the wait. He did my last tattoo years ago and I've been secretly stalking him since. Found him here at Daruma Ink. I contacted him and his assistant (super adorable blondie) returned my message quickly and promptly. Because my newest piece is a small(ish) add on, I was directed to Denise (his apprentice) for my tattoo. I collaborated with Khuong on the design and Denise tattooed me. Don't be fooled by her baby face. She may not look like your stereotypical tattoo artist but she is damn effing good. She has the hands of a surgeon -it didn't hurt one bit! Studio is sparkly clean and new. Decor is chic with mostly Japanese art, creating a calming effect. No ugly 'I heart mom', stars or rose tattoos on display here! They operate by appointments only so you don't get interrupted by the nasty random walk-ins requesting tattoos on their pen is. Price is fair, paid hourly and vary depending on the tattoo artist. If you're interested in beautiful script, calligraphy, or custom Japanese tattoo and artwork, I recommend this place with the highest regard. Read Less

I got my second tattoo in here. These studio is very neat & spacious plus the artists are professional/friendly workers. Since I'm new in the city, I use Yelp very often then I found this place. I was fascinated with all the reviews posted in here thats why I tried getting an appointment with Tan Ngo whose awesome man. He didn't disappoint me I got the design that I wanted and it turned out very good. If I will scale the level of pain (1-10) of Tan's work it'll be 2 . He's really gentle and make sure the tattoo doesn't bleed a lot while on progress. This is not my last I'll definitely gonna come back. I got my first tattoo done by Tan yesterday. First off, I never write reviews but Tan definitely deserves one. Secondly, I am terrified of needles... I don't even have my ears pierced. I came into the shop and showed him how I want my tattoo font to look like. I also told him I'd prefer to him hand-draft it out. He did draft after draft making sure that the font was perfect and when it finally was, I barely felt a thing when he tatted me. Super gentle and fast! I doubt that this will be my last tattoo and I will definitely come back to Tan for my next one. Plus, the shop is super clean. Everyone is friendly and professional! Read Less

This shop is fairly new but the tattoo artist that works here has been doing tattoos for a while now. Khuong and his apprentice Tan, theyre both great at what they do. One of the best tattoo artist hands down. Got my right arm done from khuong and my leg done from Tan and i wanted to say they take their TIME to make sure that they have the best design for your work.  Plus on the bright side they do have 2 awesome associate working their Vi and Dave, all of them are really nice, so if you ever want Japanese work done from them call in and set up an appointment for a consultation! New shop with highly experienced tattoo artists. Khuong is definitely the most coveted tattoo artist in the Silicon Valley. With a waiting list of almost 4 years, people are still waiting get inked. He is worth the wait. I have a couple more years till my next tattoo and I am very eager and excited. He couples his amazing artistry with speed unlike any other making the tattoo experience well worth the pain. (I.E. He accomplishes a lot per session)Now they have a new shop that is modern, clean, high end that gives a definitive nod to the Japanese art and religion that makes all things Japanese so amazingly cool.
