I want to start out with the statement that this is my first tattoo, and Oliver did wonderfully in leading me through the process of designing, tattooing, and aftercare.
I was searching for an artist that specializes in Asian motifs, has great attention to detail, and makes realistic artwork. I scheduled a consultation with Oliver and was able to meet with him within the week to discuss further my idea. He was very flexible in working around my work schedule to set up an appointment.
When I entered his office, I was greeted with a smile from Oliver. Before we started, I was able to look around the room, where I saw even more of his creations on the wall, projects that are already in progress with other clients, and inspirational artwork that aligned with the vibe that I got from seeing his other tattoo work online.
When we sat down for the consultation, I showed him some doodles that I sketched. As an average sketcher, I was worried that I would not be able to communicate the vision I saw in my head. Oliver proved me wrong! After our discussion, and a 10 minute sketch by him (he sketches fast!), I was sold! He not only drew out my idea, but also took it a step further in incorporating other beliefs I valued into the artwork.
To allow for proper development of the idea for larger tattoos, Oliver schedules his patients 2 weeks later for their appointment. I had a schedule conflict then, so we placed me on the calendar 3 weeks later. During that time frame, time flew fast because Oliver and I would be working on the idea after the release of his initial design after a week. After many versions of modifications (because I am picky about details to make sure that the artwork gives respect to the cultures), the dragon felt right, the calligraphy felt right, and the flowers felt right to me. We had a final design locked down before my appointment!
During my appointment, which consisted of a detailed, super saturated, multi-colored, 8 x 4" back tattoo with characters on the spine...Oliver took great care in getting the details tattooed in while keeping the template unsmudged. In one multi-hour session (again, the details), the tattoo was completed.
Keeping the after-tattoo wrap on for a day, using aquaphor and dial soap 2x a day for a week, and lubriderm for the next 2-3 weeks, my tattoo went through its peeling stage at 2-3 days, itched a week later, and healed completely on week 3-4 with no red bumps or other complications.
I checked in with Oliver after my healing period to make sure that my tattoo turned out all right. He confirmed that the tattoo healed well and also did a bonus for me in getting some whites touched-up and highlights in for my tattoo to pop out even more. Thank you, Oliver!!! Read Less
