Great Tattoo shop, the stations are spacious and the lighting is good. They even have squishies if you need them for the pain ;) It's reservation only, which is great because it means there aren't random people just coming through all the time. My artist (DeAnna) did a great job on my tattoo, from our conversation about what I was looking for all the way to actual design and placement she did a great job. This place is fucking awesome! I researched people and shops for a couple months for a watercolor tattoo before I decided on Katie. The consultation was easy and she took a ton of notes. I came in the day of my appointment and the drawing she had for me blew my mind, it was even more perfect than I envisioned. I was a wimp and Katie was sympathetic towards my whining lol.The entire session was laid back- the other artists and patrons were funny, joked around and just had some overall really cool conversation.The location doesn't hurt either.  What can soothe the pain of a new tattoo better than a slice of North beach pizza?!Can't wait to get my next tattoo at this shop!! A great crew of people work here, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely talented at their craft. Deanna is one of the few, and in my opinon the best, Watercolor style tattoo artist in the area. This review is long overdue. Katie G.Z. did my first and only tattoo last August after about six months of correspondence and waiting for an opening in her calendar. She was well worth the wait! I found her after rigorous online searches for a tattoo artist in SF that can do beautiful, delicate script work. I had thought carefully about this tattoo for over five years and she patiently walked me through the pros and cons of different text fonts and body placement. Before going on vacation in San Francisco I did some research ...reading reviews and looking for a good location. Apprehensively, I made an appointment with Kyle still unsure about where I should put my tattoo and how big it should be. Well ...not to worry. I felt very comfortable with Kyle and he was great at explaining the procedure and putting me at ease. When he finished my ladybug it looked so realistic! It's been only one week and I am back home. My tattoo has not been any trouble to me at all. I really love it and it is better than I imaged it to be. Kyle was very good with healing instructions and what to expect. Okay, I can't stress enough how much I love this place. I'm in the middle (1 out of 3 sessions) of my second tattoo with Mez and can say that I intend to come back for all future ones. Let me just say this - I love Mez Love. Period. Like an extra "period". Love. And no pun intended. Had something important to me - a thing from my childhood. A magic trick. Cigarette though a quarter. She hit it out of the park. Like out of the damn park. It is hard to find artists that do photo realism. She does it in spades. And she is cool as all heck to boot. Nice. I got tattooed here by Mez a couple years ago and it is by far the most quality tattoo I have on my body. The consultation we had was very quick and she immediately understood what I wanted, and was even very kind when I emailed her a week or so later asking for an addition to my piece.Their location is small, but hey it's SF. The day of my appointment, I came on time and she immediately showed me what she came up with and it looked fantastic so she stenciled me, encouraged me to take a good look and make sure it was placed perfectly, and then went to town on my arm.The piece took 3.5 hours to complete, which for how many details and intricate shading she put into it was a huge surprise. She had asked if I wanted to split it into two sessions- lineart one sesh then color another but I told her to keep going. She was great. I think at some point someone came in and asked to interview me which was kind of awkward but I guess that's irrelevant to this review.If you're thinking about getting tattooed please check this place out. I too, was sitting on a tragus piercing for a while now. Finally, after watching numerous Youtube videos and being absolutely bored out of my mind, I took the bus down to Tattoo Boogaloo and got it done! I called in and they told me that I could come down anytime. Honestly, when I did the search, I was looking for a place close to my house and experts on piercings. Pictures of other customers were also very helpful. Krista helped me with my piercing. She was SO cool. I don't think I've ever met a complete stranger who was about to punch a hole in me, that was so nice. She helped me with the jewelry (they have a great selection). Of course, me being me, chose the most blinging one. During the process, she explained everything to me. I was nervous but she was able to ease me through the process.
