Shannon gave me a tattoo 9 years ago when I was 18 years old... i still don't regret it. Thinking of adding on to it soon.

I've been getting tattoos for almost twenty years, and I can easily say - Shannon is an unreal, amazing, absolutely gifted talent. Her skill with color blending, fine line work, body placement, and design have completely blown me away. I walked in with a file of cave art images from around the world and no clue how they could possibly come together, and walked out with a sleeve so beautiful and cohesive that I giggle when I see it in the morning, and I can't go *anywhere* without people needing to stop, compliment, and examine it.Shannon is also an absolute pleasure to work with - funny, personable, and genuinely passionate about forging the relationship and solid communication that will allow her to take your intensions for your piece, filter them through her decades of experience as an artist, and leave you with exactly what you wanted (even if, like me, you couldn't quite imagine what the final tattoo might look like). There are tons of artists in the world who'll give you a perfectly good tattoo. But if what you want is something really special, something collaborative and unique, something glowing with both technical skill and a joyous love of this medium? If you want to really love your artist and their/your art? Shannon's your girl, big time :D Read Less

I started a tattoo (my first tattoo) with Shannon Archuleta Tattoo, but canceled remaining work due to an overall poor customer service experience:*  I had to contact Shannon Archuleta Tattoo twice to even get a response for scheduling a consultation. (This should have been my first clue.) In December 2014 I filled out the website form, and did not hear from anyone. In March 2015 I emailed directly to Shannon Archuleta Tattoo's email address, and was contacted with scheduled dates for the consultation and two sessions: Aug 15 for the consultation, Sept 16 for the first session, and Oct 14 for the second session.*  Shannon Archuleta, the tattoo artist, does not schedule her own sessions. An "assistant" does. In the timespan of about a year I dealt with two "assistants". *  The consultation was postponed by about a week (hindsight folks...)*  The first session was "rescheduled" because of a family situation with Shannon, except it wasn't rescheduled. The second session became the first session.*  A drawing of the tattoo idea (a butterfly roughly the size of my hand) was suppose to be emailed to me the day before the first session, but wasn't sent before the original first session or the actual first session.*  Shannon was late for the first session, so she only had time do an outline of a 4" x 5" butterfly. (This should have been my second clue.)*  I wanted five additional butterflies to commemorate my grandparents who've passed away, and did discussed the idea with Shannon during the first session. The next session was to complete the color fill in of the butterfly, plus complete the five more smaller butterflies. Shannon indicated one session would be needed to do all the remaining work. *  For the second session on Dec 30 Shannon forgot the sketch of the butterflies, so could only complete the color fill in of the butterfly outline.*  Shannon then indicated it would take two more sessions to complete the full tattoo. (This was the final straw.)*  At the end of the second session I learned that Shannon only works 4-5 hours a day and schedules 2-hour sessions. Shannon is a capable tattoo artist but is a poor business person--for this I do not recommend Shannon Archuleta Tattoo. Read Less

I felt comfortable and relaxed during the session and I'm so pleased with the outcome.  Now I have a tattoo that I love thanks to Shannon!  Starting to think about my second :-) Read Less

Sadly this review is just for the lack of communication.  Emailed in March of this year wanting to make an appointment.  It's now July and still have not gotten a response.  I went with someone else who is equally as amazing and was able to schedule a consultation within 2 weeks from sending my email and schedule me for the actual tattoo within a couple months (I actually go in next week).  Hopefully this new assistant is a little more up to speed now and will not let anymore clients slip through the cracks.  Whether you don't feel like doing a persons tattoo or not letting that person know out of consideration would be helpful.
