Tyler got me in and out within 15 minutes. I told him my earlobe holes had closed up due to someone giving me fake earrings but he was able to see that my holes were still there and just needed to be stretched out rather than piercing it again. Therefore, all I had to do was pick out earrings from their small selection (pretty expensive tbh) but they were cute. After selecting my earrings, he needed to sterilize the jewelry. Once done, he said he'd be gentle since he knew I was really nervous. After two small pinches, I had earrings on again! This review is long overdue but I love coming to this shop, this is my go to piercing shop for almost 10yrs now! My most recent experience was one I won't forget. I went in to do a double nostril piercing, got it done, came home and I realized I messed up on where I wanted it. After trying to let it sink in, I went to back to see what could be done and Tyler helped me out every step of the way! I came here for second piercing on my ear lobes -- the place is really popular so a bit crowded. We ended up waiting for 45mn to get my piercings done but I find it to be a reasonable wait time. The place is bright and looks clean. My piercer was really professional, we took the time to find the right placement for my piercings (changed it 3x times until we find the perfect location). I appreciated that he's so careful about the cleanness -- he dropped the earrings I was wearing and picked them up from the floor with his gloves already on. He changed his pair of gloves. Sounds basic to everyone, but I heard so many stories about people getting infections after a piercing so I'm grateful I've been to this place. Price-wise: the jewels are a bit expensive, but the quality looks great. Mine were on the lower end price-wise and I spent $130 for the earrings, with $40 fee for the piercing itself. Walked in & was immediately greeted by Eldo. I knew that I wanted him to pierce my ear because he was friendly and confident. For my January birthday, I wanted my left tragus pierced. Was a little scared but Eldo assured me that it was an easy piercing. Took a deep breath in, released it, & was pierced. No pain. Only felt pressure as he put in the bar & Swarovski crystal stud. I wanted to love this place so much. So, I got my first ear piercings here - I was kinda scared and they took excellent care and it didn't get infected or anything. Which is great. I picked one of the non-diamond jewellery aka "cheaper ones" which I was told is pure rose gold. When I took one of the earrings out about 2 months later - I saw that only the visible top was rose gold. The rest of the stud is titanium. You can probably get those earrings wholesale for $30 and I paid over $200 for them thinking all of the earring is pure gold. My piercer sat me down and explained the process. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He knew that my upper lobes were pierced before and used a different method to reopen the hole. Pricing: I hear from friends who have visited BM the $40 piercing service + ~$50 jewelry (for my helix) is reflective of the top notch experience they give you here.Wait Time: Moderate but reasonable on a Saturday afternoon. No reservations available, walk in only Helix Earring Selection: Rather limiting in colors, so you may have to compromise, as your absolute favorite color might not be available, mine wasn't. There's a range, but there's like only one or two shades of certain colors. No hoops for initial helix piercing, only studs. Now here's my full story if you made it this far! My friend and I came in on a Saturday afternoon to get my helix and her nose pierced. We selected the earring color at the counter and filled out paperwork, then sat waiting for about 20-25 mins, as there were people ahead of us. Once they were ready for us, our piercer, Alex, brought us back to one of the three piercing stalls.As this was my only my second piercing (and my friend's 11th), Alex recommended that the "more nervous person" should go first to get it over with. He cleaned my ear, opened a fresh needle, and talked through what he was doing when, and with minimal pain, I had a new helix piercing!The next day, I realized that there was an issue with my piercing earring, so after discussing my options via email with Alex and over the phone with Eldo (I believe is his name), I came in today to have it resolved with Tyler. The place looks clean and the service was friendly. It was my first time here. Now my rating is not as high because the piercer Nessa had to basically pierce my Daith twice. As soon as I walked in Nessa greeted me. I told her I had a few questions after she answered them I decided to go ahead and get it done. Everything was going well felt a bit of pressure when the needle first went in and then she put in the first ring and that was it not bad at all. Except it wasn't. As soon as she put the ring in she told me she would have to take it out because it maybe was too small and I would not have enough room to swell. Now I'm no expert but she did look at my ear before we decided that I would get this peircing done. I would have thought that a professional would have some experience/technique when choosing jewelry size. So I don't have to tell you guys how painful this was on freshly peirced flesh and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Anyways she put the needle or spacer I can't remember what she called it to keep my peircing open while she went got a different size then came pack put the new jewelry in and it HURT way more than the first time. Both when she had to put the needle/spacer back in and when she put the second ring in. Through out this she kept saying I was such a good sport and checked on how I was doing. But it was already done what else could I have done but lay still and breath through this process. And I get it maybe she was being extra cautious but shouldn't we have started with that approach. I got referred here years ago by a friend who had a navel piercing done and loved the service. So for a period spanning more than 6 months, I've stopped into this location numerous times to carefully research and plan out a long anticipated nose piercing. I remember the specific day I got pierced because I had just passed a professional exam and celebrated with this as a present to myself. Nessa did the piercing and she was so calm and professional. Not having gotten a piercing in ages I was of course a bag of anxiety but it was so quick and relatively painless (like popping a deep zit I imagine). Due to their convenient location I had since gone in numerous times to get the rod adjusted (free followup service for customers!) and get reassurance that my piercing pimple would in fact go away. Let's just say that this review is way overdue. Like years overdue.The first time I went here was to upgrade my nostril jewelry from a stud to a hoop(circa 2015). I kind of regret not getting all my piercings done here, but the other ones I've gotten preciously were done at Braindrops(rip). Between the attention to detail and customer needs, any customer can tell they're a sincere and honest business who believes that all steps in the piercing process are important. Ended up choosing a seamless gold hoop. The install went smoothly. My jewelry installer explained the whole process and what he was doing(even though he didn't need to), and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. The whole experience made me decide to get all of my next piercings from BM.Fast forward to May 2018 and I came here with 2 of my friends, where we planned on getting new piercings(triple earlobes, conch, and nipple piercings). We were all taken care of by a really nice patient lady in the front who advised us on colors, metals, and bars per our bodies and our piercings. She never tried to upsell anything and she was totally honest and didn't rush us through the process. Once we picked out our jewelry, we were seen by Eldo, who calmed us all down and explained all of our piercings to us. Throughout the process, he washed his hands multiple times, took the time to mark us up to our liking/matched the piercings to be symmetrical on each side. It was a pretty meticulous process but it was totally worth it. During the actual piercings, he told us exactly what he was doing, what he needed us to do, while somehow keeping all our nerves in check. Afterwards, he instructed us on specific aftercare, healing times, and advised us on when we could upgrade our jewelry. Fantastic job, Eldo!Today, I made a solo trip to BM to upgrade my jewelry from almost a year ago(yeah, I know, i upgrade at a sloths pace) and because it was the weekend, it was busier than usual. Although it was busy, the FOH jewelry advisor kept to the process, and talked me through my different options. I also described a specific type of navel jewelry(floating navel) and he knew exactly what I was talking about, and they were able to build a custom piece of jewelry for me there. I waited for ~30 minutes, as I was advised, and then was promptly seen by Alex. He was really professional, sanitary, and quick with the jewelry swap! He also made sure all my jewelry fit, even trying different barbell sizes to see which one fit better. Although we chatted about his various piercings, he still kept his professionalism throughout and gave some really sound advice on piercings I've been thinking of getting too.I appreciate the high level of detail, customer service, and professionalism BM consistently gives to its customers.Be advised that their metals are very high quality and they work with reputable sourcers, and you get what you pay for. I got my helix piercing back at the end of July, and everyone's been really lovely when I went to go get it checked in, but I recently saw Eldo to ask about whether I could change out my helix piercing and he was so nice!First, he saw that it looked like there was a little nubbin of redundant scar tissue, told me why it had happened, and even recommended a way to help it heal better (rubbing a little bit of coconut oil, baby. Smells so good, feels so soft).Second, when I was asking about what the sizing should be of future hoops/posts I would buy, he was totally happy to write it all down, talk about alternate dimensions I would see/what that meant, and didn't ONCE try to sell me the jewelry they have in store (which let's be real, is super expensive). I really appreciated that he gave me the space and time to talk to me about what earrings I should buy, and didn't try to sell me on anything. Precious piercer wouldn't downsize my new helix after a month and some change. OFC 2 weeks after, it developed an irritation bump. 2 months later, I'm ready to give up on it since it has not improved even though I'm not sleeping on it and I'm leaving it alone aside from saline rinses multiple times daily. After going to two other stores and being told to come back after the bump is gone with no real suggestions (leave it alone more) a girl at Body Manipulations suggested downsizing. 2 days later, the bump is almost completely gone. went in for a septum piercing! originally wanted to get it pierced with a retainer but they only had 14G ones so i just opted for a 16g horseshoe. I only waited for like 5 minutes and the whole piercing process maybe took only 10 minutes. My piercer, Nessa, was SUPER nice and friendly, as was the whole entire staff. I got my tragus pierced by Alex over a year ago and it went smoothly as it possibly could! I moved to LA and I really miss Body Manipulations. It's very clean and everyone I know who went here had great experiences. Alex is super sweet, calming (while I was freaking out on the inside), and knowledgeable. I was afraid the piercing would hurt but it I barely felt anything! The staff here is friendly and nonjudgmental too. My cartilage piercing also once fell out while I was biking, and a guy here helped me insert a new one back in. I'm a chicken when it comes to touching my own piercings, and the staff here happily inserts them in at no additional cost. All in all, a very trustworthy place. I got my nose pierced with Eldo almost 9 years ago. Not going to lie it did hurt but Eldo did his best to make me feel calm lol. It was about $100, expensive but worth it because my nose piercing never got infected and it's my favorite piercing. Fast forward to today, I went back here to get my right nipple re pierced after it closed. I previously went somewhere else and he pierced the left one diagonal -_- Eldo was my piercer again and he remembered me lol which I thought was cool. Eldo then explained to me why the other piercer pierced it diagonal (smh I should have went here to get it pierced) and then asked me if I wanted to get my right nipple pierced diagonal so it would match. I'm like people do that??? He's like yeah it's common lol so I just decided to get it pierced diagonal. He made the markings and showed me before he pierced it, I'm not gonna lie it hurt because he went through scar tissue. It was sore for a day but the next day it was total fine!!! Everything went smoothly, and although Nessa (the piercer) did everything well, I wish she wasn't as rushed. Had a good experience getting a daith piercing here and having jewelry changed out. My only not-great experience here was when I ordered some new jewelry for my rook piercing. They had to order it from a vendor because they didn't have it in store. It's taken a lot longer than they predicted, and I got frustrated when I called and didn't get an explanation. But after I wrote a review here, the owner Paul contacted me explaining that they're doing all they can but that their vendors are sometimes really slow. He's trying to solve this problem with his new jewelry company Goldfinger. I hope they succeed because it would be great to get this stuff faster. If you're planning on ordering jewelry through here, it's fine, but remember to factor in a few months waiting time just in case. Read Less

I'm writing this review on behalf of my girlfriend who went in to re Pierce her tragus and rook holes that had just about closed up. Going into it she expected to pay about 100 dollars total for the two piercings and the jewelry. She did all the waver forms necessary, and was told to wait about 30 min. We killed time by getting a yummy burrito from Pancho Villa down the block.She returned and got both done promptly, and by the end of it she was super happy with the results, the customer service and the prices! The place was cleanish when I was there. There was a good variety of piercing jewelry but not everything I'd like or have seen at other shops. They don't take appointments so we had to just walk-in with our group.  I came in from out of town so I wasn't sure if I'd even get seen but they didn't have a wait when we got there with was lucky since it filled up right after. My girlfriends and I all opted for gold since it was the size I wanted; otherwise titanium would have been fine and probably cost a lot less. One friend had her doubles redone and her bill was about $300 and they didn't even need a needle cause the hole was still there. They did take our "yelp check-in" 10% off so that was something. My other girlfriend and I both got our forward helix done. Hers went quickly and without a hitch. Mine, however, took a bit longer and felt like it was pierced twice which was not at all fun and it bled a bit, which came be normal I hear. I guess I have "small ears". So I will consider that for next time cause like tattoos, I'm already addicted have had two more since. All our piercing healed nicely as we have all followed the standard piercing instructions. I went in to get my nose pierced I was greeted with smiles and felt very welcome. I had nessa do my piercing, her and I go way back and she was very sweet, and explained how she would pierce me and how to take care of it. She was very fast! I was a little nervous but I trusted her. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants to get a piercing done! I called the shop wanting to get my septum pierced and spent a long time on the phone with Alex, he was well informed and answered all of my questions super professionally and attentively. Called ahead at 4pm on a Saturday to schedule an appointment and they said it's all walk-in's. When I popped in at 4:30ish, there was one customer ahead of me, and maybe 3 customers waiting in the lobby. When I told them what I wanted, then picked out which piercing jewelry to purchase, I gave them my ID, signed the proper forms, and they said the wait would be about 45 minutes. They have ample room in the lobby and have a bench outside too for the wait. I always have a book with me, so that kept me preoccupied. I also sat near the window so that I could do a little bit of people watching. They have a good sized bathroom, and have filtered water with cups you can help yourself to.Nessa helped with my piercing. She was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I was lucky enough that the piercing I wanted to do was actually a re-do, and she let me know that the hole was still there, and all she had to do was open it a little to put the new piercing jewelry in (I thought the hole closed up 5 years ago).  It was a quick procedure, of course since it wasn't a full piercing, but with that said, it was a pleasant experience and I will be coming back to replace the bar with a shorter one after a few weeks. A lot of great ratings here interestingly enough. The guy who pierced me was nice. I guess his name was Tyler. However, The receptionist (per their website page, her name is Christina Puncsak) and the guy with big beard wasn't that pleasant to deal with i dont even remember how he looked like other than big beard with long hair. The receptionist had very cold and arrogant demeanor and the bearded guy was just unfriendly. I heard him telling me some information wrong and he ma...de me feel so uncomfortable. lol Their jewelry is so expensive. Yeh I got my piercing done but I think service is not just the product but also the people who are selling it and the experience with the staff there was fucking horrible. I know it is subjective but at least for me I just got my freaking piercing done and that's it. Won't go back there again for sure and wouldn't recommend anybody either lol. My experience for my first cartilage piercing could not have been better! I am so glad that I got to go to Body Manipulations. When we arrived the guy at the front counter was so nice and recognized me from when we spoke on the phone. He was super knowledgeable and made me a lot more confident. I waited only ten minutes before I was being called in to get pierced even though it was a walk-in. Granted it was a weekday. The person who did my industrial piercing was Jess. She was very kind and she definitely knew what she was doing. She worked quickly and very efficiently. After, she gave me tons of details as to the aftercare and even wrote down some instructions. I was not the one getting pierced, so I suppose you should take my review with a grain of salt. However, as an observer I can say that the location is extremely clean and the staff is amazing. My friend got her upper ear pierced without an appointment. The wait wasn't long and the woman who did the piercing was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and kind. After months of being too chicken to get a daith piecing because of pain, I finally went in and did it. Alex did my piercing and he talked me right through the whole process. I love this place and will only go here to get pierced. They are clean, professional, and super friendly. They pierce mostly in gold, so the jewelry is a bit on the pricey side, but it is worth it to not have a piercing that just won't heal right. Gary is a wonderful piercer and was super patient with me asking have the spot on my nose moved a bunch of times. I have gone to him 3 times now and it always is fantastic. I completely recommend them to everyone. It's better to go during the week rather than the weekend because the line is soooooo much shorter (5-15 min instead of an hour), plus they are open until 7 during the week. Read Less

Jess was so professional and fun!!!! She made my 8 year old daughter feel relaxed, and had to deal with a difficult ear piercing due to a small birth defect with her earlobe, she rocked it! I had so much faith in her abilities after that, I went ahead and did the naval piercing I had mulled over for decades. Jess assisted me today when I needed some of my nose jewelry exchanged for a job interview I had that same afternoon. I had needed to replace my current full circular septum ring with a horseshoe ring to hide it, and to take out my nostril. Jess presented an alternate idea of putting in a retainer for my nostril. A small glass piece just to keep the hole open which is PERFECT for the meantime. The jewelry is new, clean and sanitary. The work station is also very sanitary and inviting. I've been coming here for over 7years. My first piercing was done by Vaughn-the owner at that time-who did a fabulous job! I didn't even know he was done since it didn't hurt at all. Since then, I have recommended all my friends to Body Manipulations for piercings. When I'm in the area getting food, I would always go inside to say ""hi"" to the staff. They do great follow up--If there isn't a piece of jewelry they have in stock, they will order it and let me know when it arrives. They really made me feel comfortable (it was the first of many piercings) and thoroughly went through aftercare -- unlike many other places that I have subsequently been to.
