I just wanted to go get my first tattoo done already. I had planned it for 5 years prior and I wanted ink in me already. I ended up living back in Mira Mesa which THANKFULLY lead me to the Parlor where I now choose over nothing. This is my go to place Forsure. And I recommend this place for legit, literally anyone. The vibes here are always chillin and the artists or piercers there always make you feel welcome no matter what. I hella recommend ALEX. He's a G with ink. I've had 3 tattoos done within a 4 month span and they're all by him. I personally would love to stay with him as my artist. As for with the piercings that I have allowed myself to get, most of them were done by my piecer CHICHI! I see myself getting my other future piercings by no one else but her. Did some research and found Tam's work on IG. He was easy to talk to and helped me custom make my cover up sleeve. He spent the time to meet with me and then make appointments in order to complete it. We is very creative and easy to talk to as well. I am very happy with the work he's done and he takes his time to make sure everything is done right, too. Great artist! Would recommend. I got a Japanese style sleeve and my cover up is not easy. Took my daughter to get a cartilage piercing and Jay took good care of her and was very nice. He took the time to explain things before hand and how to care for the piercing. We were greeted by a gentleman at the front (in the barber shop area) and he was very courteous and kept checking on us as we waited. MY STARS ARE FOR THE BARBERS OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! I love my barber Steven for the fresh cuts he gives. He never lets me down. Everyone always asks me where I get my cuts and I always recommend them. They do call ahead a bit if you need that real quick cut they squeeze you in no questions asked. I love how amazing they leave me feeling every time. Now...As far at the ink there, don't go to Kevin Lee. He was an apprentice for like 2 days before he started tattooing people (seriously like a month into his apprenticeship he started tattooing) so no. Ben is pretty good when he's passionate about the tattoo you are getting. He loves big pieces but if it's some dumb small shit, don't expect it to be pristine. Idk about the other tattoo artists. I called the shop to see what can be done in this situation. I was passed to Sam, the owner. I was nothing but nice and told him it was an odd conversation to have, but he totally took advantage of this thinking he can scare me. I told him David Lee did my son and my tattoos. He said his name is Kevin. However, why is this guys name on instagram David Lee? Anyway, Sam tried to scare me saying I should have known he's an apprentice. David never told me he's an apprentice. I'm NOT one to skimp on anything, especially a tattoo that will be on my body forever! This cross is on my hand. So it's very visible. My son who doesn't say much, even mentioned how terrible it came out. I asked Sam for a refund and he yelled at me and said you're not getting a refund. Told him he can keep the tip. But still the answer was no. He asked me what would make me happy so I said either someone experienced fix it or a refund. All he could do is recite some legal jargon, instead of listen to a customer... he had a temper tantrum like a little kid and said nothing I can do for you will make you happy and he hung up on me. What a jerk! No professionalism over there. Now I'm stuck paying double or triple for a tattoo touch up. If I had known David/Kevin was inexperienced I would've never said yes. I told Sam I don't feel comfortable with him touching it up again, clearly cause he's inexperienced.My sons first tattoo he did an ok job ... but once it started to heal we noticed that needs to be touched up too. Both our crosses are looking horrible. My sons is missing a line (one side is thicker than the other.) Mine almost looks like it has an outline ... and it's the top part looks separate and it's cracking all between. It almost looks like it's disappearing. It didn't even hurt. Since when does a tattoo not hurt?David didn't even clean us up. We left with black ink all over our hands. I asked Sam if he wanted me to send him pics and he ignored me. I told him I want him to send me a copy of the form I signed and he ignored me. I think I need to look into further action since Sam seems shady and has no manners. I even called the shop back and I was treated very rudely, because they probably guessed its me. I tried to get Sam to call me back and he didn't. AVOID this shop at all costs! If Sam was even a half decent person, I wouldn't be forced to write this review. If you want to be treated rudely if you speak your mind and the truth come here, if not then go to American Tattoo. Sam's a big time baby and jerk! He said you're going to write a bad yelp review over $40? Yup, that's $80 plus a tip. Plus the first tattoo that was $50 plus tip.So today, my "tattoo" is actually falling off and starting to show what's under which is a hint of black. This is not a tattoo! As soon as it heals which means fall off and it'll look like nothing was ever there. So why am I stuck paying for a poor job? Alex was awesome! I have been wanting to get a Semi Colon tattoo for a while now. He helped make this dream come true. He did a wonderful job of the tattoo which spelled, "Cont;nue" with my heartbeat underneath. I was in need  of a haircut later in the evening, late enough where most salons would be closed. They advertise a closing time of 9pm, however when I arrived 35 minutes before closing time, they had already locked the door and turned off all the lights. I could still see workers inside, so I called and ask if I could have a haircut since it they didn't close for another half hour, and he answer was "sorry we already started closing". After having some issues with scheduling at another shop in Encinitas, we finally found this establishment and I can't express how glad I am that we found Daygo.Jay Voodoo pierced our 6 months old's ears and he did an amazing job. I've known about Daygo Ink & Cuts for a while but have never took the time to go in for a piercing or tattoo until today. I've contacted Jay before for a piercing but didn't end up going through with it because I already had a "go to" piercer. But she was way too far for me and I always had a problem with the jewelry falling out. So, I decided to contact Jay again today for a double helix. Didn't set up an appointment, but he told me he was available so I came in when he was at the shop. Even from the text messages the way he communicates is very professional. I thought it would be a little weird going to a new person for a piercing but he made the whole experience so comfortable. We laughed the whole time so it was as if he wasn't a stranger. For me, that helps so much because you feel less tense throughout the whole process. He explains everything so thoroughly and is willing to answer any questions. Also, I didn't get my Tragus piercings done by him, but the balls kept coming off of the barbell. He was willing to put new ones on for me. I appreciate it so much. I'll definately be coming back! I came in with an appointment but she said she was too busy so I had to reschedule. Came back again and its the same thing "sorry, too busy to tat you up". Wtf?! don't schedule me if you're sooo busy then! Haircuts- Got my first haircut here by Macho. He's talented but also a shame...  he'd rather play cards than cut your hair. The other two barbers were not even that great and they charge $25-$30 for a haircut plus tip. And for some ODD reason, when you give them a $40 they'll say they don't have change lol. What? do you expect me to give you a $10-$15 tip? Would be happy to if you give me a great customer service.This place needs to work on professionalism and customer service . After all, customers deserves it since they're the ones paying the overprice cuts and tats. Pretty cool vibe in here, everyone was really friendly. Owner was really chill, but the rating isn't on him.  I got tatted by Ben, the white dude with a bunch of tatts. I would not recommend him. Came in for walk-in, told him my idea, he did it but it wasn't as accurate as I wanted it to be. He sounded annoyed and didn't want to be bothered by the accuracy of the tattoo, so I just trusted him. He free-handed some parts in completing the tattoo, which obviously showed. He gave me a price that reciprocated the quality of the tattoo and I gave a surprising 30% tip (people tip normally 25%). I was not pleased with the final result so I asked for a touch up the next week. At the time of the next appointment, I was 5 min late, however, he came in 30 min late from a fcking smoke break. Right after the quick touch up (of just filling in the line) he charged me 20$ for the simple fill in. Which was really aggravating as he had come in ridiculously late, fucked up my tattoo to begin with. I even tipped him a good amount, yet he still charged me for a touch up (most shops usually don't).Just overall bad experience and would not recommend this dude. Read Less

Alex was supposed to get me a tattoo. He did one scratch, that I did not like. We talked about it and he had a hard time to be patient with me and to understand my concerns and point of view. I paid $100 for Kim to draw up my sleeve for me but I never got anything done from her. I had to come in and see her three different times through out a few months time and nothing ever got done. So finally I gave up on ever getting a finished piece and I show up for my appointment to just get it tattooed already. So I show up early to my appointment and she never shows, she also scheduled me and this other girl at the same time. As luck would have it, it led me to Kim Rubi at Daygo. If you look her up, you can see her portfolio on instagram along with her contact number. I initially emailed her so I could send her my design, after that, we stayed in contact via text. She is very responsive to her text messages. Since this is my first tattoo, I didn't know what to expect, but she talked me through the entire process, explaining things along the way. The tattoo turned out exactly as I had hoped. Jay is such a great piercer! I called in early to make sure a piercer was there and if I had to make an appointment. But Jay was put on the phone and he told me to come in within an hour or so and he'd be there still! When I got there, he was on the couch waiting and took me back. He showed me the room that I'd get pierced in, and I noticed that he already laid out the tools, jewelry choices, and wipes before I got there.He gave me the choice between two loops (because I wanted loops, as I got the snug piercing) and described the difference between the two, how they work, and the difference between those two seamless loops and threaded loops. I was also unsure of the placement of the piercing, and while I was debating, he waited patiently and was getting things ready. He did not rush me at all! Throughout the process, he was very careful and informative! He always checked in to make sure I was feeling okay, not dizzy, and that I wouldn't feel much pain other than the stab. Jay also gave me a 1.8mm diameter loop so that there was room for any possible swelling, and for me to clean the piercing well. My sister came along and he answered all questions both of us had, and also told her about the tattoo artists Daygo has since she is thinking about getting a tattoo. Same as everyone else who was pierced by Jay, he instructed me on the details of the jewelry he used, how to properly clean the piercing, what to do in case a keloid appeared (and also explained to me what they were), to text him if anything was needed and more. Oh my, Jay is amazing!When I came home and told my mom I got a piercing, she said "and you were comfortable with a stranger piercing you?" Immediately my answer was "yes." From the second I contacted Jay about getting pierced, I felt comfortable talking to him about what I wanted, when I was available, and all of my concerns. When I got to the shop, it was like I was with one of my buddies, almost like I gained a new friend. Jay made sure that I was 100% comfortable with him piercing me, he also made sure to explain step by step what was going to happen. Throughout the procedure, Jay told me stories and asked questions that made it seem like he really wanted to get to know me. After the piercing, Jay made sure I understood how to properly care for my new piercing. He also made sure that I knew I was able to contact him at any time about anything.A week after my piercing, I noticed that the jewelry was too small. So, I contacted Jay immediately and he scheduled an appointment with me the day of to up the size of the jewelry. A few days afterward and I needed to get up the size of my jewelry again! I had planned on getting a sleeve done for years and finally decided to pull the trigger back in October. After getting flaked on by Angel over at full circle tattoo (1 star review incoming at a later date), I searched IG and came across Kim Rubi's lion piece. Kim, from the very beginning, has been very attentive and responsive to my texts. She provides great feedback before each session and makes sure we're going to put the best piece possible on my body.
