Huge mistake coming here. The tatto in question was set up 6 mos prior with Case. We came in for a consult. Gave drawings for what was wanted, set a date for 6mos later when my daughter could return from Az. Well at 130pm the night before we got a text from Case stating he was going to have to reschedule as he was too busy partying to fullfill the appointment. So after taking time off work, driving 6hrs each direction only to have this guy cancel is a complete joke. It cost me almost $1k just to get them here and he knew this but decided partying was more important. And BTW this was a refferal. All the guys in this shop are pretty friendly and there is little to no wait most of the time. This shop is one of the most bright and talented crews I have ever seen. By far best in Orange County. They have talented artists who really care about what they are putting on your body permanently. Raul is my main man and is amazing. I have not had a bad experience with him. I received two tattoos from him in the last six months and couldn't be more happy with my tattoos. Today my sister and I got "matching" tattoos, mine by Raul, hers (the colored) by Kyle, who frankly does amazing color work. Yes they are Harry Potter :) We both could not be more happy. Went in and talked to Allan Rivera about getting a piece just a bit smaller than a quarter sleeve. Realistic black and white. When I showed him what I wanted done he agreed and said it would be a $200 down payment. After that I remained in contact with him about the tattoo and he quoted it way too expensive for what I was asking, and also refused to do the tattoo that I actually wanted, after I had already submitted my down payment. Allan has done two tattoos so far, SICK SICK SICK work! I get compliments all the time. I've seen amazing work from different artists, you can't go wrong. Definitely worth the money! Parking is an issue for me cuz I can't parallel park to save my life. The day I went to have my second tattoo done, the artist in control of the music was PO'd over some hs type bs and blasted the music and played it on repeat like 5 times. Found this place on yelp while looking for shops to do 10th anniversary tattoos for my wife and I. They do amazing work. While the scheduling took longer than expected, that is on me not them. I was referred here by a friend, I'm new to the area, so needless to say I was walking into unknown territory. At the time I only had one tattoo that wasn't the best experience or finished product ever. I digress, I met Case de boer and he sat me down and gave me solid input and put together a super solid trinity knot and the words I chose for it in less than an hour. He does impeccable work. Review for Allan, yes he is a good artist but flakey and rude when it comes to dealing with his clients. I agreed to set up an appointment and he informed me I needed to drop off a deposit prior to the tattoo. Sounds good right? However, I did not plan on stopping by unless he had time to review and make a sketch for me. Each and every time I contacted him to let me know when a good time to stop by was I wouldn't receive a reply for a week, week and a half with one worded responses. After one reply letting me know he would be at the studio I responded letting him know I wanted to go over a sketch and he didn't reply. The day of my appointment rolls around and I assume it's not going through because he never responds and no deposit was made, he asked me if I was going to flake then called me a fool. There are better people out there that are just as skilled at tattooing as he is. I'd recommend someone else who isn't a dick. Read Less

I am 1 out of 6 breast cancer survivors who received a tattoo on 10/10/15 for P.ink Day LA at Renaissance Studios! If you are unfamiliar with P.ink, it is a fabulous organization that connects breast cancer survivors with talented and generous tattoo artists, who amazingly donate their talents and time to do mastectomy cover-up tattoos. Brief backstory on me: In March 2012, at 26y/o, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. No family history whatsoever. All of my genetic testing I had done came back negative. I went through a total of 5 months of chemo, bilateral mastectomy with nipple sparing (although the breast with cancer ultimately lost that nipple), 7 in-office breast revisions, 36 rounds of radiation therapy, reconstructive surgery and a revision reconstructive surgery. I'm 30 years old now and October 10th also marked my anniversary for my third year of being cancer free!So, the artist I was assigned for P.ink Day was no other than the amazing Allan Rivera! After checking out his work on Instagram, I knew I was in the best hands possible. That being said, without this man's generosity, I would not have been able to afford this sort of beautiful artwork on my body any time soon. Allan is a ridiculously talented tattoo artist, as is well established, but he is also incredibly kind and giving! To say he changed my life with his artwork would be the understatement of the year. I mean, Allan truly gave me this wonderful gift! His art I now wear proudly, gives me such closure to the cancer chapter of my life. I no longer look in the mirror and see an ugly, scarred reminder of what breast cancer robbed from me and left me with. I see beauty and life and happiness. There are no words to properly thank him for this gift.  I'd also like to mention that I was an ink virgin prior to this, and he was very patient and gentle while tattooing me. Allan worked on me for something like 7 hours. I was the last survivor to finish getting inked that day. Truly, the other gentlemen at Renaissance Studios are extremely talented and wonderful as well! I was impressed with every one of them I encountered and met that day! Lastly, please, if you're considering a shop to go get tattooed at, go to Renaissance!  And if you want a phenomenally talented, big-hearted tattoo artist, I will recommend all the recommendations of all time for Allan Rivera! P.S. I now have my "guy" to go to when I want my next tattoo, all thanks again to this once in a lifetime experience! So, I look forward to returning to Renaissance Studios, hopefully again soon! Sancho, you rock! I'm loving my new piercing! The backstory: I was feeling spontaneous and desperately craving a new piercing (simple nostril piercing). I was running into walls trying to find somewhere that would conquer my craving, and quickly losing hope...Thankfully, Sancho saw my plea on Facebook asking for recommendations for a piercer and offered to take care of my needs on the spot! He totally didn't have to since he was off today, but we agreed to meet up at the shop & we were in business. Everything was clean/sterile! My best mate Amanda and I (the ones who may or may not be from New Zealand) came here today and got matching friendship tattoos by Joey - ze tattoo artist for two months who was formally being an apprentice and shaving people for eight months. He was very nice. Best tattoo ever. He hardly minded my mates armpit bush, and he told me not to be embarrassed of my hairy arms - because I'm a quarter Native American. This review is regarding Alan Rivera, can't say anything about the other artists (except that I did receive a prompt response from Rich Pineda before he was working  here,  even though he informed me he does not touch other people's work) I had a small black tattoo covered by Alan back before he had his own shop and when he was fairly new at tattooing. The piece is nice but the cover was done poorly and it is still visible through the new tattoo. I had decided to try a different shop on a later tattoo and had a horrible experience. It  looked awful and I was devastated. I had hope it could be fixed and I reached out to Alan asking for help. I emailed,  texted, I contacted the shop, and I messaged both the shop and Alan on IG with no response ever. All I wanted was for him to tell me his thoughts, even if they were that it could not be fixed. I am assuming that he was so put off that I did not go back to him and tried another artist that he was blowing me off. It was not cool. All I wanted was a response. I have dealt with people saying they don't touch other's work or that they felt they couldn't help. The courtesy of a response even to say "sorry, can't help" would have been the decent thing to do. I  have never been a fan of big ego's.....No matter how great of an artist you become, your customer service speaks volumes!****There was a happy ending to my story and with the help of a great artists more than willing to help, my tattoo is now beautiful. I came here to get my very first tattoo. I chose this place based on Yelp reviews--is that crazy? Needless to say, I was nervous. I didn't expect them to be able to take a walk-in, but one of their artists (Case) sets aside time on Saturdays just for walk-ins. Fate, I guess. I got script on the side of my foot. Case was great. He worked with me to select the font. He created a stencil to show me exactly how it would look. The tattoo itself took about an hour. He was very meticulous and conscientious.
