Want to thank Kevin for helping me. I had gone elsewhere on a suggestion from a friend for a belly piercing only to have issues. I knew something wasn't right. Long story short, Kevin explained they had not used titanium and that's why it was irritating. He helped me get a new piercing ( actual titanium) and I pierced my traegus. He was awesome!!! Kevin is awesome!!! I love piercings and have a good number of them, so  it's definitely saying something when I say that Kev is my favorite piercer!  The setup is in the back of the tattoo shop, so if you don't see him, ask the tattoo artists if he's there.The jewelry selection consists of mainly good-quality basics and a few fancy pieces (he posts on Instagram when he gets some fancy jewelry). One cool thing about the basic labrets are that they have push-in ends rather than threaded (twist-on) ends, which makes them easy to put on and remove. As others have said, the piercing process itself is quick and relatively painless. Kevin is quite meticulous about cleanliness and precision. You can see the little autoclave in the back, and you can see him sanitize everything from your ear to his hands multiple times. When he marked my piercing spot and I wanted the placement adjusted, he didn't mind remarking the spot until I thought it was perfect! Lastly, it's a good thing his prices are so reasonable so I can keep on fueling my piercing obsession without kicking myself over it later :) I couldn't be happier with how nicely they heal up. I took my little sister for matching inner conch piercings yesterday and even though the piercing itself was Uber painful, Kevin was great. His pricing is extremely fair for the quality of service you are receiving. He was very professional and obviously cares about his client. My sister almost passed out and he totally took care of her. Went yesterday to get 2 lobes and 2 helix piercings. Establishment is very clean and sanitary. Kevin was very professional and friendly. Made the experience almost painless. I think the only downside was there was not many jewelry options (I was a walk-in client). Everyone in the shop is extremely friendly and I was welcomed when I got into the shop. I filled out the paperwork, waited for Kev to sterilize everything, then it was my turn!I got a double helix (cartilage) piercing from Kev. He marked the dot on where it would be then let me see it to confirm. He told me to breathe in and out and the pain wasn't bad at all. The process was quick and not as painful as I expected it to be.Then he went over the after care and I left with two new piercings. I've never gotten tattooed here, but I have gotten almost all my piercings done here by their piercer Kevin. They recently remodeled the shop (still a work in progress), and it feels so much more open and wonderful in there. Before there was an awkward wall hiding the artists from the world and the piercing station was up front and personal behind the front counter. They've taken the dividing wall down and really opened up the space. I really like the way it feels when you walk in. Kevin (the piercer) is wonderful! Keeps his station super clean and he's really knowledgeable. He's also very approachable, and I've never felt uncomfortable asking him questions. Overall he's a very professional, comfortable piercer and he does his best to keep you comfortable and informed with your decisions!I've also talked to a few of the artists (when they weren't busy of course). All of them seem super friendly and approachable. I haven't looked at their art (because I've always been there for piercings rather than tattoos) but I feel like good customer service makes getting tattoos/piercings a significantly better experience so in the future I would consider one of these artists for a tattoo if their art fit the concept.Overall I really like this shop! If I can give it lower than a 1 star I would. I came here to get a small simple tattoo on my wrist & I had to come back because the tattoo artist at the time was with a client. (Don't remember his name but tall skinny bald white guy) he told me to come back in 45 minutes so I did. As he was finishing up I was sitting on the couch waiting & he walked out the shop. 10 min later he walks back in and starts screaming "F*CK". He comes back towards the door and tells me he'll be right with me and it won't take long. By the second time I've waited about 20 more minutes until he comes back in and starts shouting "F*CK F*CK!" And storms into what I'm assuming was the bathroom and slams the door. I finally got up, left and went to a diff shop who were def more professional. Def not recommending this place to friends and family & never again stepping foot into this shop. Read Less

Don't waste your time... went to this shop twice in one day, 1st they were not open even though the hours say they should be. Came back later, door still locked, call the shop while standing out front, guy didn't seem happy about having to get off his ass and open the door. After he took he sweet ass time getting to the door and opening it, I ask about lip rings ( I am already pierced), and he says the piercer is not in, I inform him I am just looking to buy new jewelry, he says "my piercer is not in, I don't know about the jewelry or the prices". I asked " so you can't sell me anything?!" He says no... lame, guess he just is lazy and doesn't care if long time customers come back. I found this store via stuckbykev.com. I was looking for places that anodise titanium because I have a piece that's not anodised to the colour I want. Note: you can only go up in voltage, not down (refer to a titanium voltage colour chart to check). Mine was just slightly off. I even messaged Kevin via his website to find out if both of the locations he's at does this or just one and where should I go, etc etc. Anyway, he replied back saying either this place or Mom's Body Shop in SF is able to anodise if anyone is interested! It was a really quick process and he wouldn't even accept payment from me but I plan to come back to have Kevin pierce at least one of the things I have planned for my ears. Thanks again! Read Less

My artist and the only person I have trusted for all my ink work is and as been done by quinn guerrero/ instagram- @qg74.   He is are currently working on a 3/ 4 sleeve  with all henna,  mendi  style work down my arm . He does clean lines, get nothing but comments  and compliments  on my arm. Quinn as been tattooing for over ten years, he is professional , very detailed and meticulous ,light as a feather and in my opinion super talented,but u can see for yourself by work and his portfolio. Its been just a couple years but I was looking for a local tattoo shop one day & I ran across this one...So when I went in at the end of the day, I was waiting to be helped. People who worked there walked by me several times & didn't acknowledge me until maybe about 20mins later! Whatever, nice customer service service! That should have told me to leave right there but I stayed...So finally, when someone helped me, I asked for simple zodiac signs on my both my arms (mine & my son's), maybe about 1"x1" tattoo each. I was quoted about $60. each & thought "ok, that sounds reasonable".I forget the guys name, but he seemed like he didn't want to do my tattoo. No small talk either, he just seemed like he was in a rush because the shop was going to close soon. So, he zipped through both my small, simple tattoos within minutes & TOTALLY FUCKED THEM UP!!!! THEY LOOKED LIKE SHIT!! The lines were messy, not even clean! They looked like a 3yr old drew them on!!!! How do you jack up a SIMPLE SMALL BLACK INK TATTOO???? There was nothing intricate about it, I could have done a better job!!! OMG, I was so upset when I left but still paid for them!! As I left, I was thinking I was gonna cancel the charge with my credit card company but thought I would call the next day & speak with the owner.So when I called to speak to the owner, he heard my story & yelled at his employee. He asked him what happened & it turned out the guy DIDN'T want to do my tattoo & was in a rush to close the shop because he was going out somewhere! WTF!!!!! Anyway, the owner offered to let his guy fix my tat, but I said I NEVER wanted that guy again! So the owner offered to fix it for me because I explained I'm not gonna pay for something jacked up that I now have to have someone else fix!!!When I went in again & met the owner, he apologized & agreed the tattoo looked looked shit. But as he was fixing it, he explained he doesnt normal do this (fix someone elses mistake IN HIS SHOP) nor does he come in for less than $150. tattoo! He made it known that I was inconveniencing him, but he fixed my small, minuscule tat that was very sentimental to me (my son's zodiac sign).Because of the poor service I received, I will NEVER go in this shop again nor will I recommend it to anyone!!!! DON'T GO HERE, PEOPLE!!!!!!!Most of my friend's have all gotten tattoos in San Mateo at Godspeed! They all have had a really nice experience there & awesome detail on their tats! I've been collecting ink since I was a senior in High School; 1986. Jay's has been my go to shoppe since 2001 when I first started going to the shoppe in Pacifica. I've gotten many quality pieces from Jay, Nunu and the crew that I am very happy with. Kevin, the piercer, is my needle man! He has done many a project on me. Ear projects, four surface piercings in my back, and replaced many other piercings for me. He has a very good imagination on how to make a piercing unique. I get lots of compliments on his piercing designs. If you don't check out Jay's then you are oing yourself a disservice. On Sept.08, 2008, I had my first appointment to get my right arm tattooed by Junior from Jay's Fine Line Tattoo. The first outline session went well. My next scheduled appointment was for September 15 and Junior failed to show. Next appointment date was for September 20 and 27, where he was going to color in my tattoo on my right arm. On October 3, I contacted the tattoo shop regarding my arm. I've had tattoos before and this time my arm felt as if something was wrong. I spoke to the owner, Jay, since Junior wasn't in the shop. He giggled when I notified him about my arm and let me know that he couldn't do anything for me, to wait for Junior. I asked if he could just take a look at my arm and he said no. I decided to get a second opinion.The other tattoo artist I've revealed my arm to notified me that my arm is overworked and scarred.To stop sessions. I notified Junior of my knowledge and he told me to wait a month for my arm to heal,That I would either get a refund for the color he did or he would complete my right arm for free. I went to Jay's Fine Line a month later to show my right arm to Junior. Instead Jay came to see my arm as Junior watched. Jay stated that my arm was okay to continue tattooing. That I must have been scratching my arm. Junior let me know to contact him when I was ready to continue. I got another opinion and was told to continue to let my arm heal,not to tattoo on it for a few months.I didn't feel comfortable resuming the tattoo at Jay's Fine Line.I notified Junior and he let me know he wasn't going to refund me, to speak to Jay. Jay told me that I wouldn't get a refund and that no one at his shop would fix my arm! Jay's Fine Line's way to fix a problem is by ignoring the problem. I am miffed that they took advantage of my vanity. Not only do I have to live with a scarred arm but other artist don't want to touch my arm due to another artists mistake.I am telling my story to those seeking for a tattoo and to learn from my mistake.
