Went in for my first ever tattoo... I was so undecisive, I knew what I wanted, and where I wanted it, but I didnt know the exact size, font ect. And I wasnt sure I could handle actually getting the tattoo... First impression-) Tattoo artist--she goes by the name Bonkers this is a tough lookin woman who may not know what shes in for or have the patience for me, after all Im the girl afraid of all needles. But as soon as I talked to her that all changed... She saw what I wanted and talk about top notch service, she drew it up right then and there, sat me down n let me see from start to finish what the process was... She knew I was nervous and had lots of patience with me, she talked me through every step, encouraged me, and in the end helped get me through it with her jokes... She has such a smooth and gentle hand yet got the job done... It looks amazing.... it came out better than I could have imagined! She gave me her cell number and made sure to keep in contact to make sure everything was going good with the tattoo  its still healing but I know if something looks off I can ask and believe me I have lots of questions lol... Lisa pierced my little one's ears and was amazing. She was very upfront during our call about her concerns in piercing a toddler (as very small babies are the best). We decided to give it a try. She was very professional, funny, and super fast! Fast enough to let a crying toddler check herself out and do the next ear in no time. She also made sure I was happy with the placement of the dots (to mark where earrings would go) prior to piercing. We were in and out of there in about 20 minutes tops. Absolutely ADORE Lisa! My boss and I went in for piercings and Lisa made the whole experience super comfortable! I went in for a single nipple piercing and she closed everything off so that no one would see and made me feel super relaxed even though I was half naked in front of a complete stranger. Great place to be pierced in Salinas, tounge piercings do not come out crooked like in other places, I've noticed some other shops tend to Pierce crooked, and not because of vains just because they are not as good. Lisa, the owner of Studio 13, is the go to person in Salinas if you're interested in a piercing! First time I went to her for a body piercing was over 20 years ago for a tongue piercing. Wow, that was so long ago! Since then I've came back to her five different times. She makes you feel comfortable, is open to answer any questions, is super friendly, and is very thorough on explaining the process and after care. Lisa was great! She was fast and kind and if I wasn't such a chicken, I'd get more piercings! I just had a 2nd lobe piercing in both ears and it was about $20, plus tip. She sat me down, marked my ears, asked me to check it out in the mirror so I could see the placement for myself and then she free-handily pushed the needle through (no pierce gun). She has you take a deep breath and doesn't go until she knows your breath is right. A couple tips: 1. Screw back earrings hurt going in because of the threading. 2. Be prepared with your own earrings because you'll want to make sure they stay in the new piercing for a couple months as the piercing heals. 3. Call ahead even though walk-ins are welcome so they can tell you if Lisa is currently there and available. They'll also tell you a good time to swing by. Read Less

When I was younger I got my snake bites here.I got my most recent nose piercing done here and most of my friends got their piercings done here. All healed great.Both the piercers (may be more now this was over a year ago) are awesome! I came in on 4/20 to get 2 dermals done. Let me just say studio 13 is a great place to go especially if you are shy or maybe just nervous. First of all the reason I went specifically there was for Lisa she has years of experience and I have seen her mature dermals on others. I was pretty nervous since I have not had any new piercings for a few years but she was very reassuring and professional and afterwards she was very hopeful in explaining a few important things with dermals and gave me a few tips on caring for them the whole process took maybe 30 minutes from the time we got there and drove off I have never been there for a tattoo but I have also heard plenty of good things in the past and would definatly look into to going in the future Read Less

Came here recently to get my earlobes pierced, nothing crazy. Lisa was helpful, informative, and even made sure I was content with the location where she would pierce. Hollow needle is the way to go! Virtually pain free-a pinch hurts more than getting your ears pierced lol! Avoid the mall piercing gun and support your local businesses. Everything was prepped and cleanliness was a priority. My cousin got her tatt here and it looked great. Regular artist was busy and I was in town for the weekend and wanted to buy my little sis a birthday tattoo. Called and Raul told us to come on in. We got there and were told that he went to the store and would be back. The piercer was a bleach blonde, heavyset woman who had a very mean, sour look on her face and wasn't very polite or welcoming. We waited about 20 mins and when Raul showed up he wouldn't do my sister's tattoo. She wanted a small piece on her hand; he said he wouldn't do it because he didn't want her coming back asking for free touch ups. Whoa! Rude. We were so turned off by the shitty personalities that we just left. Don't get me wrong, nice work but very rude people. I came to Lisa three years ago for 5 piercings - both tragi, and three in my cartilage for a helix/spiral. She did an awesome job, none of it hurt, she kept checking in and paid attention to safety. Recently swapped out my tragus jewelry in SF for titanium and the quality of the original work was praised. For the spiral threading though, I came back to have her do it. She had to attempt it on two different occasions because the holes had shifted when they healed, but persevered and now I have a gorgeous and rare piercing I can proudly display.
